And here we have real life; living breathing characters with detailed emotional arcs and a script that has clearly been well planned out by William Monahan and Alan Mak. Storyline is a sizable piece of meat to sink your teeth into. Every character and moment has a strong sense of tension line to hold the audience and each scene holds a sense of weight that piles on top of the last until the final act of the film where the foundation has been set, the blocks have been built and now you sit back and watch two lovable character's backstories collide.

Mel Gibson has the ability to create movies with a gripping tension line from start to finish. At 2 hours 18 minutes, I didn't for a second feel the need to check my watch and I surely didn't lose interest in the film at any point. This film portrays the incredibly extreme reality of war and can oftentimes leave you gob-smacked by the images on screen. Mel has found many moments that will make you feel like you are 'in the movie' as the battles rages on. Something I particularly liked about this film was that the essence of the film continued to come back to the value of life on both the U.S soldiers and Japanese side. Heart wrenching and raw; I had a strong visceral feel toward this film. Great performances by Hugo Weaving,Teresa Palmer, all the young gun actors that had cameos and of course -Andrew Garfield. Andrew Garfield, open-hearted and well connected to the character, he certainly does a great job of bringing Desmond Doss to life/doing the character justice. This young actor has been handed powerful emotional content and has reciprocated by giving audiences a home run performance. Oftentimes overlooked; Andrew Garfield has put his talent on the line and *fingers crossed* will continue to be given the opportunity to shine in large future projects. By the time credits start rolling, you will need (atleast) a few more minutes to digest what you have just seen to fully process the heart-wrenching tragedy/reality of war and the heroic young man that dared to push against the grain. A VERY, VERY POWERFUL FILM. A MUST SEE.

This film collapses circles and shows that life is not always as simple as we think it might be. An all in performance coupled with a powerful script. This is a must watch for any generation. Touching gripping and unapologetically well acted. An unforgettable performance by Eddie Redmayne.

Ryan Gosling carries this film from start to finish. You can't help but wonder what drives him to what he has become. Gosling's mystery will draw you in to the last second.

For me this film felt like it received the positive reviews because of the cast and the content. Definitely one of the slowest moving films in a long while. Dull and lethargic.

I genuinely really enjoyed this movie. One of the most enjoyable and touching films I have seen in a long time. Johnny Depp was spectacular. There was always something happening behind his eyes and straight from the get go, the first time you see him on screen for this film you know youll be in for a touching journey. Johnny Depps character shares only a few traits similiar to Jack Sparrow but the characters are completely different. I liked this film so much I looked up the Johnny Depp interviews for this. That's when I noticed all the bad reviews. I have never seen the original Lone Ranger so I have nothing to compare this to. I believe this may be where alot of people are being swayed with how they feel. As seen with many Johnny Depp roles, he brings his own flavour and spice to the role. He unapologetically brings his own version of the character to life. I have never reviewed a movie before but I liked this movie enough that I created an account so I could write a review and have my say. The Lone Ranger is a great movie, lay down any expectations of how you want it to be like the original TV Series decades ago and sit back and enjoy a really enjoyable and touching film. Watch it for yourself ignore the critics and form your own opinion.
