OMG, I pre-ordered this and got a steam refund with an hour of play. Not really an hour of play though as most of the 54 minutes were taken up trying to get the game to launch at 1920 x 1080. When I did get it up and running I have to say I thought I just traveled back in time, not to 1950's America but to 1999 and an old pentium with onboard graphics.... this game looks absolutely **** even at Ultra settings. Did someone say 'open world'? the 1st hill i tried to climb I get a message saying "you cannot go this way" or similar.... I dunno, very disappointed. Definitely the last AAA title I will pre-order. Oh and that frame rate will make you sick, if you spend long enough in the game that is.

About a year ago I bought the much lauded Witcher 2 on Steam in a sale. I installed it, launched it and tried to control the bloody character while the scene camera seemed to do its own thing. I quickly realised why I hate button-mashing-over-the-shoulder-lack-of-control style games. Unfortunately I had hoped that at least this aspect of the control/combat would be improved for Witcher 3, sadly that's a big hairy 'NO'. In my opinion the controls in Witcher 3 are actually worse. Sadly this ruins the game for me. The other thing that bothers me are the graphics. In my opinion Skyrim looks better, trees in particular look **** in W3, sort of reminds me of Arma 2 on medium settings. Anyway I don't like being overly negative on a title like this which undoubtedly has had a lot of work put into it so perhaps if there is a1st person mod and a high res texture pack then I will re-install.

I notice a lot of the high score reviews for this game mention the word 'patch' almost straightaway. This pile of crap is gonna need the mother of all patches… like how about a whole new game sized patch? Don't make the mistake I made by supporting this crap - it just encourages other hood winkers to chance their arm. Stay away.

Even though I bought this in the sale I have to admit it's not even worth the sale price. This should be about £1.99 at most. Buying this was my second biggest mistake of 2013 that stinking pile of crap 'Takedown: Red Sabre', being the first. At best this 'game', if you can call it that, is patronising and boring. There is no original, high brow, intellectual message within and I am baffled as to how it scored so highly. Steam really needs to implement some form of refund system.
