Just Shapes & Beats8

Great game. The levels are very fun and hectic, with tons of bullets to dodge and some awesome music to boot, they capture the chaos present in the songs and some of the levels are VERY creative. The bosses are also great. The game also has a very good overworld map in the story mode, it incorporates some platforming in the overworld and some quick-time events too, which makes the overworld interesting and fun to traverse. The soundtrack is amazing, one of the best I have EVER heard, nearly every song is a bop. The game's story isn't gonna blow you away or anything but it serves its purpose fine enough. Finally, there are the visuals of the game, they look really nice, they manage to make simple shapes look great and the visuals shine the most in the levels. Overall this is a great game and I can recommend it whole heartily.

Mr. Hopp's Playhouse9
Mar 5, 2022
This game is short but sweet. The game does a great job at being scary setting up this claustrophobic atmosphere, like your trapped in a small house with someone hunting you. Another thing that makes this game one of the creepiest games I have ever played is the art style. The crude pixels give this game even more creep factor than before. The game relies more on its atmosphere and the jumpscares simply supplement the creep factor rather than just spamming them at you. And it helps that the jumpscares are legitimately TERRIFYING. The more you progress in the game the scarier the game gets, and it made me feel uneasy while playing the game, which IMO is something that EVERY horror game should strive to do. The game's stealth mechanics are also pretty fleshed out and really fun. The game has some good difficulty to it but not so much it feels frustrating, the game feels fair and fun to play. This is an amazing horror game, really wish Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 2 took notes from its predecessor, or else we could have gotten something that was more than just a disappointment. The game is short but it's amazing.

Kirby Fighters 28
Mar 5, 2022
This is a very fun fighting game. There is tons of variety in all the characters and each one of them feels pretty balanced, stages have cool gimmicks that make fights fairly interesting. There is also a story mode in which you have to climb up the tower and fight a bunch of Kirby's and bosses, and after each floor, you get to choose which item you want to use. I like this since it demands strategy and planning ahead from the player. I never really thought that a Kirby game of all things would be hard but...here we are. There is also another mode called single-handed mode wich is the same as the mode from the first game, however, being honest the game can get very unbalanced when it's two against one. The CPUs are just WAYYYY too overpowered and it makes the mode on the hardest difficulty not very fun. Another downside is that the visuals look like they have been downgraded from Star Allies and Super Clash. The game looks very ugly and some of the textures look very fuzzy. The game also introduced some cosmetics for the copy abilities which are just a neat addition. The game also has a battle mode and an online mode, not much to say about them tbh. They're just fairly fun modes, battle mode allows you to adjust how powerful the AI is which is good if you want to relax while playing the game or want a better challenge. So overall, this is a pretty great fighting game, highly recommend it.

Mr. Hopp's Playhouse 24

I was so disappointed by this game, the game is not scary at all due to the overuse of chase sequences and jumps scares, and it doesn't help that the jump scares are a lot tamer compared to the first game, the art style also is another reason why the game is not scary at all in my opinion, it's not bad but I liked the more crud sprites in the first game because it helped making it more creepy and unsettling, however, this game's more refined art style is just another reason why I don't find it scary. Your also in a mansion now which just gets rid of the claustrophobic feeling in the first game, the mansion setting is also very generic. The stealth sections are also very tedious and boring, the game does not add anything to make it feel less stale, plus it's such an overused mechanic in this game. I was also disappointed by how you don't hide away from the new plushies (Ms. Bo and Mr. Stripes) which was the biggest thing I was excited for in this game, until the end of the game. Before then you're just hiding from the matrons, who are not scary at all. Deaths are also typically very unfair and most of them come with NO warning. Another thing I was disappointed by is that the game doesn't add anything new to the first game's mechanics, and what it does add barely makes a difference, the music is also pretty forgettable. There are things I enjoyed about the game though, I like all the lore it adds into the series and I also like the voice acting, all the voice actors did a great job and they should get a raise. I really wanted to like the game but couldn't, it's a massive disappointment that fails to be a horror game.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps10

As someone who has never played the first game (Yet), I had SO much fun with this one. The visuals are gorgeous and the soundtrack is beautiful. The combat is EXTREMELY fun and filled with variety. There are times where I was just running around the world slashing enemies because the combat was THAT fun and satisfying. Movement is also one of the game's strong suits, it feels SO good to control Ori and move him around different places all the time, there are times where I run around the world because Ori is just so satisfying to control. The bosses are all great, they feel like true celebrations of how far you have come, they are very well designed and fun, plus their soundtracks are AMAZING. The story is also pretty good, it didn't make me cry or anything but it's far from a bad story. The platforming and levels are also very fun and challenging. The game does have one flaw though, and that is it can get pretty glitchy a times. But the glitches arent anything game-breaking or anything so it's easy to ignore them. Overall this game is a masterpiece, I highly recommend this game to ANY Metroidvania fan. I would even say it's on the same level as Hollow Knight! This is my second favorite Metroidvania right below Hollow Knight, this is definitely a must-play for sure

I'm not really having a great time. The hard mode is incredibly lazy because instead of giving you harder levels (Which is what I expected) You instead get the same levels but without the option to move the camera. So if you're playing the hard mode, you have no way to tell where you are on the map and you can only resort to taking MULTIPLE leaps of faith in order to beat the levels. The easy mode is more enjoyable than the hard mode, but that isn't saying much because the camera is VERY clunky to use. The graphics are lazy and there is only ONE TRACK!!!!! Don’t play this game.

Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time6
Dec 5, 2021
The gameplay is basically the same as the first game with some new stuff like victory requirements where you have to do stuff like protect plants or produce X amount of sun which are really fun. And the game provides lots of new situations that make the game feel less monotonous to play. There are also boss fights in the game which was something PvZ 1 was sorely lacking, and despite most of them being copy-pasted from each other, they are pretty fun. So in theory this should be a 10/10 game right? Well no. My main problem with the game is the constant difficulty spikes in the adventure mode. Worlds 1 to 4 are pretty good and are really fun worlds, worlds 5-6 were mildly frustrating but still passable. But worlds 7 to 11 are just downright unfair, this is the point in the game where it goes from mildly frustrating to unfun and p2w. The difficulty in these worlds is so hard to the point where you have to either grind, use power-ups or buy premium plants that are overpowered as hell. That is another problem with this game, the leveling system. OH MY GOD, I HATE THE LEVELING SYSTEM, the leveling system is just there because MONEY!!!!! It makes plants stupidly overpowered and the game becomes significantly easier because of it. Plant food is implemented well but I feel it could have been nerfed a bit more but it's fine, power-ups on the hand.......well what can I say, they all feel out of place and are practically a requirement in order to beat the later levels in the game. Despite all of this, PvZ 2 is a fine game, if you ignore all the microtransactions and awful leveling system then you could have a good time.

This is not only my favorite Metroidvanias of all time, it's my favorite game of all time. The atmosphere in the game makes the kingdom of hallownest a lot of fun, just as when you thought you have seen it all the game slaps you with a new area or boss. And its story is told brilliantly, the game does not give you any lore dumps but instead tells its story through the environment and character dialogue. Any time you see a thing in the game it gets you to think, to speculate as if you have found something, there are even some stuff in the game that people still make theories about to this day. But what about the story and lore itself? It is amazing, the story one filled with tragedy and sadness with so much emotion, it's not a happy story, it's a dark and hopeless one. And the characters are all likable. The music is godlike and one of my favorite video game soundtracks. The game is very hard and challenging but never feels unfair. The bosses could have used some work though, none of them are bad but their attacks stay the same throughout the whole fight which kind of makes them feel a bit repetitive. Words can not describe how amazing this game is, GO PLAY IT NOW. This makes me incredibly excited for silksong (its sequel).

Angry Birds 24
Jul 17, 2021
Angry Birds 2 is bad game, it is a downgrade from the original and here is why: 1. Level design: This level design is stupidly easy, it becomes a mindless game were all you have to do is just fling birds at buildings and pray that something hits those structures, and the reason for this because the game's levels are randomly generated making it a roguelike. While I do like the roguelike genera, for some reason it gets merged with other genera's that are NOT designed for roguelikes. There is no way to tell a bot how to create meaning full puzzles without them becoming boring and easy. Another problem with this is that because it is an roguelike, there is a new version of each level every time you re-start, meaning that it is impossible to practice them. 2. New stuff: Okay so there is tons of new stuff that this "sequel" brought to the table, all of witch ****. First lets start with the new bird, silver. She's fine can be useful some times but sense the level design is randomly generated, it mostly just ends up making her completely USELESS. Now there is the cosmetics, not really much to say about them, other than they look like they were stolen from PvZ 2. Now the arena its a multiplayer mode and its just as bad as the base game though you don't lose lives when you lose in this mode. In the tower of fortune you can get upgrades for your birds however you can not see any of the cards, and one of them is a pig card. If you get the pig card, you can watch an add to pass or pay with gems. Mighty Eagle's Bootcamp is just a shop, nothing else to say about this mode. And there is the daily challenge were you can lose lives unlike the arena. There are also spells that just make the game easer than it already is. 3. Microtransactions: Boy are there a lot of those... first of all there are the lives, you get 5 lives and you will lose 1 live every time you lose a level, and if you lose all of your lives. And the way you can get them back is either by paying real money or watch an add. You can get them back if you wait longer. This live system obviously just exists because MONEY!!! There is also a hatchling you can feed to get more feathers. This is disgusting. Because the game is manipulating kids to play this game more and if they don't feed the hatchling it will be sad and run away witch could make kids sad and cry. 4. Other stuff about the game: The game's areas look boring and bland. They all just look same. The other games had areas that were diverse and unique, it is very easy to tell 2 worlds apart in AB seasons, but in AB 2 all the worlds look like they were copy and pasted over and over. We also had to wait 3 full years for hal, bubbles and stella to be added back in the game, WHY????? 5. Similarities to other games: This game steals from so many other mobile games. First of all the level select screen looks like it was ripped straight from PvZ 2, the lives is taken from candy crush saga, AND THEY LITRALY JUST STOLE THE CLANS FETURE FROM CLASH OF CLANS AND CALLED IT CLANS, THEY DIDENT EVEN TRY TO HIDE IT. There are probably other stuff that rovio took from other games but I don't want to know because I don't want to support this company anymore by downloading it this crappy game. 6. (The last one) The fact Rovio called this, a "sequel": Now you may wonder why I say sequel in quotes. Well that is because an other game already got that title (according to Rovio) and in my opinion, is MUCH more deserving of the title Angry Birds 2. That game is AB seasons wicth is the TRUE Angry Birds 2, and AB rio witch is an Angry Birds 3. Now, how did these games already get that title of the an angry birds sequel? WELL in 2012 there was an Angry Birds game that released on Xbox, PS3 and the WII. It was titled "Angry Birds Trilogy" Keyword TRILLOGY. And what games were there? Angry Birds classic and Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio. Or should I say THE TRUE ANGRY BIRDS 2 AND ANGRY BIRDS 3. So ya Rovio is just trying to act like Angry Birds never had a sequel before even though they put AB seasons and rio along with the original in a game called AB Trilogy. Conclusion *Sigh* look, if this game was a spinoff like Angry Birds friends I would leave it alone, BUT since this game calls itself Angry Birds 2, it needs to feel like a sequel. But no instead we got a stupidly microtransactiony MESS that feels like EA made it. If you want a true Angry Birds sequel, go play Angry Birds seasons or rio since again, Rovio themselves confirmed that there sequels by putting them in a game called Angry Birds trilogy.
