Wasteland 210
Sep 30, 2014
The RPG I've been waiting for since 1998, when I first beat Fallout 2. This game gets a 9.5/10 in my book - it has flaws, but they are completely outshone by how perfect this game is in almost every way. I don't understand why this game gets so many negative reviews. It's not a game for everyone, but if you like turn based, strategic, old-school RPGs in a post-apocalyptic setting, it doesn't get any better than Wasteland 2. Fallout 1 and 2 have finally been surpassed: well done Brian Fargo and the inXile team.

Excitebike: World Rally9
Mar 17, 2011
"Anyone who thinks this game isn't an improvement over the original needs to go back and play it after playing this game to see just how much better this is." Had to quote this previous reviewer because this is right on - I went back and played the original after playing Excitebike: World Rally for several hours straight, and WOW: this one ruined the original for me, which I never thought would happen. That's how much better this version is, and how much I love it. My *only* complaint is that they removed the ability to deliberately wreck yourself by leaning too far backwards. Yep, that's all I've got. Buy this game, it's uber retro goodness whether you played the original Excitebike or not

I love this game, but it is SO hard! I consider myself a hardcore, oldschool, blah blah blah gamer, but this game just kicks my butt over and over. That said, it's fun, and worth playing, but be sure to have a tolerance for difficult games.

This game will make your head explode. In a good way. Nothing like it, check it out - it's even multiplayer, unlike any (I think) of the other Bit.Trip games

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years8
Mar 8, 2011
This game is extremely old school. Extremely high "random encounter" rate, lots of grinding, cheesy Japanese dialogue/plot, etc etc. So why did I beat it? Pure nostalgia for the most part. If you played and beat FF4, you'll want to play and beat this game. I started off hating the fact that they continued the plot of one of the most well wrapped-up endings of any Final Fantasy game, but despite that I have to admit they did a good job. Is it worth the price? Probably not, but I paid it, and don't regret it. If you don't like the old school Final Fantasies (aka pre-FF7), you won't like this game, but if you do, I strongly recommend it.

Bit.Trip Fate9

If you like "on-rails" shooters, this is a great game. If you hate this genre of games, you will hate this game, and stop reading this review now. Overall this is my 2nd favorite Bit.Trip game, and is a ton of fun. It is definitely a difficult game, but I keep coming back for more because of the addicting simplicity of it, combined with the brilliant soundtrack. This is honestly the most casual of the Bit.Trip games. You can just take it easy and blast everything out of existence without much trouble on the first several levels, though boss fights are challenging (enough). The powerups are excellent, and I feel like this is the most rewarding of all the Bit.Trip games when it comes to replay value. Unless you dislike challenging games, I strongly recommend this one

Bit.Trip Runner10

This is the BEST of the Bit.Trip games. Honestly I don't understand the negative reviews this game gets. Yes it is very difficult - but it has a good learning curve. Supposedly less than 10 people worldwide have gotten 100% on all levels and bonus levels, and I believe it. Even so it is a BLAST - my roommates and I play this every day, passing the controller around every time we die. Buy it, that's all I can say.

The House of the Dead: Overkill10

This game is just awesome. Pure on-rails shooter goodness, with a plot and dialogue that doesn't even pretend to take itself seriously, which I appreciate. How many "serious" game plots have you experienced that just plain ****? I appreciate a well told story, but over 90% of game stories are going to be total junk, and so I appreciate that this game didn't even try. If you enjoy pointing your wiimote at the tv, pretending it is a gun, this is the best Wii game you could purchase, hands down. It's not a perfect game, but it is an awesome game. I paid full price for this game when it first came out and have no regrets, and now, with used game prices much cheaper, you can't go wrong picking up this game. Unless you're easily offended - this game still holds the record for most swear words in a game. It's all for the laughs though, so if you only like games you can take "seriously", stay away from this title.

Fluidity9

One of the best original WiiWare games to come out, this game is definitely worth the small amount of money it costs. Graphics 9/10: Solid, not spectacular, but no complaints
Sound 8/10: Happy music but not brilliant, good FX
Gameplay 10/10: this game is really fun. It feels challenging but never too challenging, and the pacing is just right.

Lots and lots and lots of fun for the price it costs. If you like Dubstep, if you like electronic music in general, if you like Gaijin games, if you like "retro"/"oldschool" type games, or any combination of the above, you will love this game, and play it for many hours.

Bit.Trip Flux9

This game is great. It's not my absolute favorite of the 6 Bit.Trip games, but it is a ton of fun for the price. Basically Flux is Beat with lots of small improvements - the balance of difficult vs easy sections is much better, you can make a lot more mistakes and still keep going, the graphics are better, etc, etc. Honestly there's not a whole lot I can say in favor of this game besides saying it is Bit.Trip.Beat 2.0, but that is enough for me. If you only ever buy one Bit.Trip game, get Runner, but if you're like me, and enjoy all 7 games Gaijin has published so far, you'll love this one. Graphics: 10/10 (for the Wii, and Gaijin games in general)
Sound: 10/10 (these games are *all* about the music and FX and this release does not dissapoint)
Gameplay: 8/10 (a little dissapointed this is a remake more than an original game, but it is still extremely fun!) Overall: 9/10. Buy it, you won't regret it.
