This is a game that gives loads of promise through stunning visuals, a gorgeous soundtrack, a creative concept and loveable companion, but fails to deliver its promises due to inconsistent frame rate, a finicky camera, awful controls, unresponsive AI and a story that I didn't want to read but rather know how it ended. For a game that was in development hell for ten years, I have to tragically say I'm disappointed in this game. It can deliver on such a cinematic level, but with so many flaws, I can only applaud its cinematic performance. If you want art, this game is for you. If you want fun, find something else to spend $60 on.

This game is very simple, yet very fun. You're not gonna rage at getting crushed in 4 man FFA's because of just how absolutely crazy the game gets, and it's incredible with friends, especially in a call with skype or discord. However, the random matchmaking is down right terrible and KILLS the game sometimes. Like with Smash Bros, you can play against bots or other players and friends. Playing with friends is nice as you can form a party and let the chaos unfold, but the match making for random people an be brutally long and sometimes impossibly laggy. I've had several matches where I wait for up to FIVE MINUTES for a game, and their ping is above 200. Some games are so laggy the game can't even start. This is a great game, but I wouldn't expect reliable online play without friends who have a stable connection.

Only time you need to kill is when you want to kill. Only time you need to save someone is when you feel to be a hero. All actions are referred to All actions will haunt you This game shows that if you make one mistake, you need to live with it, with a creepy feature that happens when you try to restore a save file or edit the game files (if you haven't tried this, give it a go). This is an aspect of life. You might not like the characters, you might not care about the characters, but they will react to you regardless, friend or foe.

Not built in the same manner, nor a terribly good game, but it's nice to relax with a pikachu once in a while. Watch TV together, go to the beach for fishing, go to the forest to partake in a band or try some fruit, and so forth. Aimed for kids, this classic gamecube game will keep children entertained and happy with a game made of repeated TV shows and minigames. If you're looking to get your kid a game that will keep them entertained for a while, I'd definitely recommend this. If you're a teenager, I wouldn't recommend this unless you're a HUGE pokemon junkie, or just something to relax to.

Wizard1014

Magic, a mysterious, unnatural, difficult to control force. Wizard101 features none of that. I've played through the tutorial out of curiosity as I enjoy the idea of magical combat, and I have to say that Wizard101 doesn't feature any aspects of magic I enjoy. The idea of wizards getting together for a battle against mystical creatures, and choosing to stay out of other peoples fights or help them if they're struggling is an interesting concept. However, the battles themselves are far from magical feeling. When a majority of attacks involves summoning a snake, wolf, giant or bat to attack for you rather than actually casting magic yourself, doesn't feel all that magical. The tutorial is incredibly short, and the membership is extremely expensive, $10 a month. Even so, that's 1 hours work at minimal wage in most places, its much more expensive than other games. The story seems quite interesting, but I have my doubts whether the gameplay would be worth the $120 per year. There are other games that feature hundreds of hours on F2P like runescape before getting boring. Sure you'll have a lot of restrictions and it does follow a F2P/membership model, but the F2P aspect provides much more in several other games. One thing that REALLY needs to be fixed is the chat filter. I understand a game would want to filter out swear words when intended for children, but a lot of words that aren't swears can still be censored out like the word "whole" and I'm not making this up. As a whole, I'd say it'd be a good game for a kid, but it doesn't feature much in the prospect of imagination. The graphics are a good balance between form and function, the gameplay is simple, and would be great for a younger audience. Due to the price and lack of imagination with "magic" casting, I wouldn't recommend this game for those who truly enjoy the unknown, wild and unpredictable chaos that is borne from magic.

Make your character, get the first game achievement, unlock the black rose for Team Fortress 2, never play it again. Don't play TF2? Don't even bother wasting memory on your computer. There are better FPS games out there than this, but if you can't afford anything better, be my guest to play it.

If the gameplay and controls weren't so slippery, more people could appreciate Shadow's final moments as a good character before being butchered. The story is good, the cutscenes and bosses are nice, and although the graphics are rather lacking it's a rather reasonable looking game. The controls and physics need to be fixed to make this game fully worth the price.

Best lagg simulator since watch_dogs. You'll be lucky to reach 60 fps on ultra high graphics, maybe even thirty. On high without AA I'm lucky to get 15 in some places. GJ ubisoft, your lagg simulators keep improving. Nope, couldn't keep a straight face.

Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric2

This game had some hopes from me, I was expecting something different yet interesting. Instead, here's what I've found: -Graphics that are lazily done, on the Crysis 3 engine no less -the combat isn't as enjoyable as one would expect, it's different, but not satisfactory -the humor is really degrading, especially poor knuckles, a character I respected in sonic adventure, sa2 and sonic heroes -BUTTLOADS of glitches that SHOULD have been watched for, its like an early beta or late alpha build. As a comparison, I'd have to state this is a lot like a bad spin off of The Legend of Spyro trilogy or the Spongebob Squarepants Movie (video game). The story, character model design, and voice acting isn't horrible, but the slowpaced action and horrible humor isn't something I was looking forward to. Three years of building, yet loads of bugs and graphics that could have been reworked before release if BRB had the common sense to actually do proper testing.

Sonic and the Black Knight6
Mar 21, 2014
This is a review I can make without Endless rants and long explanations. Positives: -Sword play (for those that are interested in it) -A moderate lesson for medieval weaponry (trophies/items you collect with a description) -Good voice acting... compared to most other Sonic games nowadays -Beautiful audio and graphics Negatives: -Speed is a minimal contributing factor and usually factors to danger more than beneficiaries. -Few alternate paths to grant variation to the levels -Very repetitive game play so it gets boring quick -Stupidly easy fights, only challenge you get is from the bosses and those can be cheesed easily... even their hard-mode variants

A game that challenges you in one thing, and one thing only: creativity. With straight-forward combat, the only thing threatening is the environmental hazards (lava, long falls), surprise attacks from enemies (which can contribute to environmental hazards) and letting yourself being overwhelmed. The game can grow stale in many cases if you do not set ****, or if there is nothing to set a goal for you. This is where the community comes in. Vanilla Pros: -Gives you a starter point so you understand the game -Tests you to for creativity -Marvelous things can be constructed and adventure maps can be made interesting through the use of redstone -The lego-style and blocks make building fairly simplistic Vanilla cons: -No tutorials -Rather boring if you cannot set goals for yourself -Lonely on single player... and especially annoying with squidward villagers Multiplayer + Community pros -PvP adds a nice adrenaline rush with traps, stalking and shadowing your prey -Mini-game community servers (such as the core server or the hive server) add lots of fun and randomness -the modding community allows for interesting mods, whether you want a challenge, something interesting, a slightly easier kind of game play, or simply a different look to the game community cons: -like all games, idiots exist in the community and trolls are common. (known as griefers) -PvP can leave you depressed if you're not part of a community server and start out immediately, as people with plenty of diamonds and enchanted gear can kill you just as you try cooking iron -Server finding is rather irritating and LaN (local area network) server finding is unreliable General game pros: -Still getting updates -Creativity is constantly improving -allows for useful applications in real life (Minecraft Teacher is an outstanding example) General game cons: -Without creativity or ambition, the game makes you feel rather mindless and can turn stale -major updates (such as new biomes) can force you to abandon everything you've done on a different world to start from scratch on a new world for the content -resources can be tedious to obtain, especially diamonds (insanely rare sometimes) and obsidian (takes ages to mine)

Sonic Generations8
Mar 19, 2014
Sonic Generations will do what it says in the title, and take you through the Generations of sonic the hedgehog. Reliving some of the best and - unfortunately - worst moments in Sonic's years of running through the world Graphics: The smooth graphics and dynamic color pallet with incredible shading is remarkable, and the blur effects for the modern sonic dash attacks is simply outstanding as to how well it works together. The graphics - however - do push the system to its limits, and you can occasionally find frame-rate chops or momentary lag. It's not enough to ruin a game, and is thankfully rare in most cases. Game play: The negative part of the game play is the bias towards modern Sonic and very short storyline. Even if you choose to do the challenges, find all five red rings in a level, the game play is very short lived and following the story alone is even shorter. In terms of the bosses, you face two bosses as Modern Sonic and one as Retro Sonic, the final boss is - as many will, did, and should expect - tag team between the two. As a sonic veteran, having played many of Sonic's best and worst games (sonic labyrinth, just why SEGA? Y_Y) I was very disappointed with how you do not revisit some of the most nostalgic bosses from the older Sonic games such as Sonic CD, Sonic 3, Sonic & Knuckles, etc. The game play - short lived as it is - provides a huge refreshment to nostalgia with revamped music and remastered bosses and levels, themed after some of the BEST moments in Sonic's history. You get to enjoy the epic 2D classic and 3D modern sonic game play styles, with challenges from older games, revamped with many improvements and epic moments. Storyline: The storyline itself is very obvious to many people, and - as stated before - is very short lived. The story itself doesn't really excite you much as there are very minimal plot twists or intriguing details. However, by revisiting some of the older games, we can see how much Sonic has changed - for the better and worse - over the years. Character Development: The character development is rather minimalistic, with very minimal use of their personalities and barely any use other than to find out secrets in levels - such as locations of the red rings - and take part in one of the cheesiest cut scenes I've ever seen in the final stage. You also get to hear Omochao with one of the worst voice acting they ever gave to the robotic creature - thankfully disabling Omochao is an option. Unfulfilled Expectations: As a Sonic Veteran, I have longed to see a return of the Chao Gardens as well as special stages. The Chao Gardens was one of the most relaxing and adorable mini-games the Sonic franchise gave us during the Sonic Adventure games, and the special stages (such as the ones from Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic CD and Sonic 3) provided a bit of a hidden challenge. Annoying? Perhaps, but a classic thing that gave players a challenge. In Sonic Generations - and most games nowadays - you earn chaos emeralds during the story, but have no use for them. In this case especially, there's no use of the chaos emeralds (outside the final boss) until you've completed the game AND purchased an upgrade. Upgrades were an interesting add-on to modern sonic games, but they can be tedious and make minimal sense. Given how you can use the chaos emeralds to turn super sonic AFTER purchasing the upgrade - which is ONLY available AFTER finishing the main storyline - really leaves me with great disappointment. The rival battles, however, add an interesting twist to some of Sonic's older battles, but unfortunately, do not satisfy some of the nostalgia that was expected; mainly due to the short length of the battles. The final boss - however - was the biggest disappointment I have seen in a Sonic game in ages. The battle itself is too easy and more so luck based. It is highly predictable in many cases, however in other cases, some attacks are near-impossible to dodge due to either lack of time to react, lag issues, or glitched hit boxes. Some abilities, such as the time slow, aren't even threatening, just a nuisance to deal with as they do nearly nothing but slow the entire battle down. From the three other bosses they offer, the final boss is a huge disappointment in comparison. Conclusion: Despite how much negativity that people may have picked up from minor, Sonic Generations is a very fun and VERY satisfying game in many places. Several spots need improvement, but SEGA has shown us how our favorite blue hedgehog has come, and with a secret unlockable that lets you relive the first of the Sonic series, we are given a game with many variations in design, with multiple ways to clear a level - much like in the old Sonic Games - and a game play even a six year old can master. I hope SEGA will look at this and realize what made Sonic great, improve it, and release something truly remarkable.

RuneScape 38
Aug 12, 2013
Gameplay: Beautiful quest lines with an indepth story rather than "Kill x amount of monsters for Y gold and/or Z experience", several strategies for combat with no classes or class restrictions. Only downside is its tedious grinding system for training skills, where rather than by leveling up mining by extracting higher quality/more abundant ores, you level up by mining ores individually. Graphics and audio: The audio has had a beautiful overhaul on many tracks in RS3 compared to most of the compressed program audio to RS2, full of emotion and spirit to help you get into a game; graphics look amazing with html5 (currently usable via google chrome) but are sadly rather lacking for the java scripts that are forced a graphical cap. Community: community is rather split, with the oldschool servers (outdated back to 2007) and the live game, the community has somewhat little respect for the opposite sides, several people are nice, but some parts of the community can be BEYOND immature. Updates and membership fees: there is BEYOND YEARS of content in the members world, with brilliant story lines, access to dozens of sets of new armours and weaponry, hundreds of quests, and free updates with no DLC's as the game updates itself for you either monthly or weekly. Downside is the microtransactions, let's be honest here: NO ONE likes microtransactions RuneScape is a fantastic game, very enjoyable if you enjoy being your character and enjoy having deep storylines.

Shadow of the Colossus7
Apr 12, 2013
Shadow of the Colossus shows that a man's spirit is much larger and more powerful than any other creature, spite its superior size. The game had epic music, beautiful detail, very few cut scenes, and real heart-string tugging (and straining) moments that just made you want to cry (or yell in frustration as you fall off the colossi). The only things I want to point out is that this game has a very lonely area, it's just you and your horse until the other guys show up, further more the camera angles are rather quirky; further more another thing is the distinct lack of weaponry and variation in the fights with the colossi. There was variation, i cannot lie, however only being able to wield a sword and bow to attack makes for a rather repetitive gameplay. Further more, the colossi each have their seperate aspects; avion requires careful maneuvering, basaran requires you to use the natural terrain, celosia and cenobia require a bit of parkour and a few tricks (such as avoiding being corner camped but other than that once you've taken care of those parts, it's simply climbing along the creature and stabbing their weak points; it would have been nicer to have a bit more variation in weaponry and requirements for slaying the colossi. I cannot hate this game, I am in love with it; however there are smoe small perks that can be tweaked to improve it.

Terraria8

Terraria is an amazing game, taking from all aspects: free-roam, rpg, adventure, sandbox, and allows you to do plenty of things in game, such as boss fights, creating your own world, and exploring dungeons and caverns to expand your wealth and arsenal. The sad thing about Terraria is that creativity isn't that possible in 2D compared to minecraft where 3D is amazingly easy, and when you have all the end-game items there really isn't much to do but delete your character, delete your world and start all over again; or try to make farms of all sorts. The annoying thing about Terraria is that it's very easy when you get the end-game armour and weapons, leaving you to try and figure out what to do. A little imagination, however, can go a long way. Making farms and houses look visually appealing, making boss or gameplay challenges (underwater fight, no armour/potions fight, tier1 gear fight, etc# can make the game a lot more fun than people think. the disappointing thing is that Terraria's updates are slow #especially since they only started updating it again after the 1.1.2 release#, and there's no supply&demand other than ammunition for ranged weapons which is easily accomodated as items have no durability #unlike minecraft) If you enjoy exploring, surviving, creating things to your appeal; then I'd reccomend this game for you, because with a little imagination, something simple goes a long way
