Total War: Rome II9
Apr 7, 2019
Just read some of the negative reviews. Some of them diddnt bother really playing it for one day before posting a review it seems. Or gave it a 0 for silly reasons i personally dont cara about. You know there is a mod for roman archers. Why do you give it a 0? This game is about a 8 or 8,5. Its above average but that has said it all. It is not bad at all. But after a couple of hundreds of hours you might feel you have seen it all and move on. I would say it is worth your time and money.

Hearts of Iron IV: Man the Guns10

One year of development and changing more then 30% of the game. For only 20 euro’s. Free for those who invested more at launch. Yes please. It is still early but i like the changes a lot. The game feels better and more alive since last expansion. The focus trees for the 4 nations are worth it to play through them at least once. Which should be enough for over 80 hours of gameplay. And you could take multiple routes for another go. Say as the netherlands there are at minimum 4 routes. Immense focus tree and historically quite interesting. Coupled with the new sliders which could make the ai more unpredictable. Like you dont know which route germany would take. And perhaps the UK becomes fascist instead of democratic. And you wanted to play as allies. Have to be flexible like neutral netherlands in history of 20th century.

Sid Meier's Civilization VI: Rise and Fall10
Feb 11, 2018
This expansion expands an already fine game packed with a lot of content. I’ll say the price is justified. AI has been improved steadely since launch and is doing alright. I’ll just put this review here because some give it a rediculous score for things that will be not relevant for many. Or just for not recognising where civ 6 is in its current cycle. Every new civ game will not be a better experience then the last game (civ 5) which had 3 years of development and 4 full years of modding behind it. Civ 6 is doing great and will surpass civ 5 soon if it has not done so already. It is a good buy

Total War: WARHAMMER10
May 24, 2016
For anyone wondering if this will be another rtw2 kind of launch. No worries. This total war is stable and a very solid launch. Considering the staggering number of new unit types. Flying units, giants, trolls etc this game is really well designed which exceeds my expections. The game does tell a brilliant story from what i have seen so far. The develops hit a bullseye with this fantasy total war mix. Like any tw game it does have its typical total war issues. Nothing serious. The game performs great on my old gtx 780. I`m getting high/ultra settings and a lot of eye candy on. + huge unit numbers. Which is perfect for me. Keep in mind that installing the latest nvidia driver makes the game hang on the warhammer logo. Playing steam offline helps for now. Suppose this will get fixed soon as rtw2 had the same issue.

dont buy this crap. No singleplayer, endless dlc money grabs. All the time spend on it is wasted as this is basically a battlefield for toddlers. Does not need any skill and servers will be empty within a month. Playing this game is watching a very expensive B movie.

Pro - character creation. - seems like you can play this game for hundreds of hours. - replayability - great setting to shoot stuff and do whatever you want. Dont take it serious and have fun. Con - graphically it looks like a console port. Not impressed. Even when this game came out 4 years ago. - buggy - crappy AI - mediocre story

I will only write this review on one part of the game. And it is a real beauty. It is the homm7 map editor. It seems to be user friendly and you can adjust about anything you can dream off if you got the skills. And if you dont you dont have to learn any coding like LUA in age of wonders 3. You can go a long way. You could sculp the terrain with it. Add and modify your custom heroes, units. With enough skills and determination even whole new factions and townscreans. I spend the last month painting 2 new heroes with waterpaint which will become my main characters in my handwritten scenario map. And written their biography. + a good number of pages already with events and dialogues. I`m that excited about what is about to be released. I would give the game a 9 with the map editor alone. When given enough support from the developers and community. Even do i am excited to what the big single player campaign has to offer. And the new maps. I wished there would be more skirmish maps. But i`m hoping the community will ad them whenever i run short of them. I know there are a lot of haters among the community. And people who would give this game a 1 out of 10 for minor issues that do not bother me much. Like using Uplay. That`s why i give this game a 10 out of 10. And ad one point to compensate that. Some minor issues: - AI needs some work the next couple of months. Even do it is better at flanking and prioritising targets now. I`m curious about the AI on the world map. - Some units could use an interesting ability. - Units like the moon doe (Sylvan) and dire wolf (haven) are not that beloved by the fans and i`ll rather see them replaced with units like a Griffioen or Pegasus/Unicorn. - Heroes specialisations could be mode more interesting. - I wish to see a dwarven or demon faction. The game does not feel complete with them. Maybe also a couple more neutral units. But well i`ll expect to see them in one of the next expansions. I want to thank the developers who must have been working hard on the game since first beta. As i`ve seen the game develop itself in a good way the last couple of months. Julien. You are the best. I`ve seen the overall consensus grew more positive the closer we made it to the release date. I`m positive this game would get a good launch at release day.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown10
May 1, 2015
I`ve never spend more hours on a game then xcom on my steam library. This game with the long war mod makes for the best game i have ever played. It is unforgiving and at the same time really enjoyable. I love turn based games and this one is one of the best. Reviewers who give this game lower then a 7 should spend some more time with it. Or it might just not be for you. I would suggest playing a game that is less demanding and more forgiving.

Age of Wonders III - Eternal Lords10
Apr 16, 2015
The base game was good enough for me to put hundreds of hours in the campaign, random maps and map editor. The 2nd expansion just ads more value along with a great free patch (1.5). 2 interesting races and a necromancer class that can be used by all races. The amount of race/class combinations is far greater than earlyer aow titles. I beleave more then 400 different units. All in all a great expansion that ads more stuff to a game with already loads of content. The free patch makes the AI more challenging. And another victory condition makes it possible to play more peacefully. The good/neutral/evil modifiers work great with this expansion. As it really matters now in diplomacy with other factions and indipendent towns. PS: I wrote this review because of one negative spammer who wrote 7 negative reviews. (like all of them) I give this game a 10 to balance it. Well it is close to a 10 anyway. If you like this kind of games aow3 is the best game of them all. Comparable to the greatness of heroes of might and magic 3. It is already a classic game that everyone needs to have played who likes 4x games.

Age of Wonders III10

Normally i dont write a review on day one. But after watching 60+ hours of content. Visiting the aow3 forums daily and reading most of the reviews on the internet. That have been written by people who spend some effort into analysing the game. I must say this game really has a smooth launch. The game is near perfect for this niche market and beginners and veterans will just love this game. It has good graphics, solid/great AI, clear information, a tome of wonders to look things up. endless amounts of content, a great map generator, editor, good community, great strategical depth. The game is not rushed but ready to play from day one. I could go on and on and some people have done that out here. Normally i would rate this game around 8.6/9.2. I dont usually give that high grades. But what would you ever want more out **** that is cheap and could be one of the greatest games of its kind. Ill give it a 10 because of people who give this game a 1/0 for minor issues like fair prices on gog or minor launch problems on day 1 (i dont have any) .
