The game feels a bit like a beta. It has some Server issues and you cant join a game while you are in a Party with ppl who dont play this game. There are framerate drops en mass at the beginning of each round but it doesn't effect the gameplay. The grafics are good for a game that is 4 years old but surely not up to date. The gameplay feels nice and is relatively fast paced for a mech game. The mechs are well balanced and there are many of them. Most of the game modes are fun to play but some wont work correct... There is NO pay to win in this game! You just need a bit practice and you can even destroy heavy tank mechs with the first mech you get! Yes you can buy heavier, stronger or faster mechs for real money, but you also can buy them with the ingame currency you get for playing the game and anyway they wont give you any advantage if you dont know how to use them. Also every mech has its downside like heavy mechs are slow, fast mechs are weak and so on... Everything else you can buy are cosmetics and emotes. Overall it's a nice but unpolished game with good potential. Maybe it will be awesome in a few month... or maybe not, who knows. Right now you can have a lot fun with it if you can ignore the issues. Anyway, it's for free, so if you like mechs, give it a try.

Toukiden 28

I liked Toukiden 1/Kiwami, but lets be honest, it was simply another monster hunter clone with a different setting and story and a little bit different mechanics. Toukiden 2 is finally more than just a simple clone. It's more like a game standing on it's own with a bit of the MH formula in it. Toukiden 2 is an open world hack-n-slash rpg-ish game with a nice story, a lot of sidequests and a beautiful world. The combat system didn't change much and also the weapon classes are almost the same as before, but that dont really hurt the game and I personally liked/like it. Little changes here and there, like the demon claw and some new weapon classes are welcome additions but not really ground breaking. The grafics are still dated, but far prior to the first entry or kiwami and from the design standpoint are really beautiful at times. The open world seems relatively small at first but opens up into new areas and landscapes as you progress in the story. There is a lot to see and do here with little sidequests, hidden treasures or fights between oni and other slayers you can occasionally stumble upon. On the other Hand it never feels like its to much, or overwhelming like in in so many other open world games... The game focuses even more on the story than toukiden 1 did and yes you have a lot to read because there are only english subs and no dub, but I had no trouble with it, even while fighting a boss enemy. And seriously, if it's to much for you to read a text for a minute, then go play cod... What I don't understand is why there is no sub when you're out in the field and the people in your group doing their occasionally chatter. Yes it's no essential chatter ****? The story itself is nice, but nothing too special. If you liked the story of the first entry, you will like this one too. Anyway, if you have enough of the story for the moment you can always go out and do some sidequests, online with friends, or alone, go on a hunt for items for better equipment, go into the ruins and battle your way down the floors or just explore the world. As mentioned before, there is a lot to do. To sum things up, the game improves the Monster Hunter formula in the right places, but stays true to itself. If you liked Toukiden 1 / Kiwami, you will love this one. If you like Monster Hunter style games, you will like this one too. If you love Monster Hunter style games but dont like the japanese setting, you should at least try this one because it does a lot of things better then MH and other games of this type/genre.

It really is a shame that this game was released unfinished. Now that the most problems are fixed and several updates are made, this game has still a bad rating but driveclub has become a really great game. Stunning visuals, great sound, awesome speed and feeling, fixed servers, collision and controls and many new events, cars and even bikes make this game a must buy now for every racing Fan!
