Greetings from Lithuania. "Strange Darling" (2023) caught me by surprise of how well this film was made. Without getting in any spoilers or plot details, I was surprised of twists and turns this film took. This is small budget film but very efficiently made one. Lead acting by Willa Fitzgerald was outstanding. Directing was very good - at running time 1 h 30 min this film was involving along the way. It is a bloody film, one to be warned. Sound design was excellent. Overall, "Strange Darling" is surprisingly well executed slow burner that is well paced, superbly acted and at the same time a bit to much "artsy" here and there. That does not distracted me from liken it.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Munich" (2005) is Steven Spielberg excellent and epic movie about events that took place after an infamous and bloody tragedy that happened at Munich Olympic games. I have seen many films about those events itself before, but never about what happened after, which is a very realistic tale of revenge. Directing by Steven Spielberg was excellent in here - "Munich" is a hardly forgettable movie that explores in depth events and people related to a plan to execute those responsible for the tragedy. It's a long film and it's pacing is a bit of a problem - it takes many detours from a main storyline but due to good script, great performances, terrific settings this film is worth rewatching even some 20 years after its release. Overall, "Munich" is an excellent Spielberg movie, his one of the more compelling ones about real events. It is relevant today probably even more then in 2005.

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" (2013) is, as of writing this in early 2026, the best film in the "Hunger Games" series by far - in my opinion. This is a near perfect sequel to "Hunger Games" that was good, but this one was just better in every way. Nearly everything in "Catching Fire" works on highest notes - from a terrific acting of great cast, to pitch perfect editing, directing and writing. At running time 2 h 18 min this movie never draggs and is involving from a get go. Revesting the entire series in 2026 on 4K UHD format I did enjoyed this film just as i did back in 2013 - it is an amazing sequel. Overall, "Catching Fire" is the best film in the series, and a great example of how to make an excellent sequel. Bigger, better in every way and involving from start to finish, this is a superb entertainment.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Back to the Future" (1985) is one of those bellowed movies that hits both as a nostalgia driven movie entertainment as well as just a great cinema overall. Revisiting this classic on 4K UHD release I've couldn't stop thinking that this movie is a very close to great films that Frank Capra did in his time. Like it just captures this dream like small city feeling were everyone seems to know everyone, and just the overall tone of the film is a reminiscent of great Hollywood classics from the golden age of Hollywood. Acting by Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd and Crispin Glover were amazing. Music by Alan Silvestri was amazing as well. Directing by Robert Zemeckis is among his very best.Overall, "Back To The Future" works as a science fiction comedy were at its heart is a theme of stepping up for itself (just my personal opinion). At running time 1 h 50 min this movie is nearly perfectly paced and is a big fun entertainment.

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Amazing Spider-Man" (2012) is an excellent Spider Man film in my opinion. I liked all three Sam Raimi Spider Man films back in the day (with third one being a small exception), yet this Mark Webb's film in 2012 surprised me a lot. I thought it was very entertaining movie. While it didn't brought anything new to the table in terms of Spider Man or superhero movies in general, I still enjoyed it very much. The cast of this film is incredible. The two leading actors Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone had a terrific chemistry on screen - their chemistry is off the charts here. Supporting actors were great. At its running time 2 h 18 min this was a long film, but it never really dragged. Overall, the 2012's version, reboot of Spider Man was a really good one for me. I rewatched this movie during the years few times, and always had a good time with it.

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Hunger Games" (2012) is a movie adaptation of "Hunger Games" book series, and it is first installment. The film was very popular back upon its release (same as book), therefore as of 2026 there 5 films in total been made and 6th one is on its way. I did enjoyed all of them so far and decided to revisit each and every in 2026 - on 4K UHD. This film isn't for me best in the series, but it is a really good one. The success of this one made possibilities for sequels. Jennifer Lawrence is a front and center of this movie and she is very good here. But for me it was Stanley Tucci who stole every scene he was in. At its running time 2 h 12 min this movie barrely drags and is involving from start till finish. One big critic from my side is a camera work. During action sequences it is shaky and it's hard to figure it out what is really happening. I know this was the popular back in the day, glad there isn't no longer present for big movies in 2026. Overall, "The Hunger Games" was and still is a good movie. While not the best in the series (for me it's the second installment that takes the crown), it does entertain enough to recommend to revisit from time to time.

Greetings from Lithuania. When it comes to a great war movies, "We Were Soldiers" (2002) is always I think was overlooked. This is a great war film that depicts very true events about the "opening" of Vietnam war for America. It is a brutal, bloody and hard hitting in portrayal of the actual combat. The scenes that leads to Vietnam are well made but a bit to melodramatic. Also some of the ending is a bit to melodramatic in my opinion. But the combat is were this film shines and stands right there with great ones. It is very impressively stages - the editing, sound effects, cinematography, make-up, all off it shines. Mel Gibson is at center and is good in here. Overall, "We Were Soldiers" is an excellent war film in depicting combat and is based on very real events. A good movie overall.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Until Dawn" (2025) is a poor adaptation **** video game. I played VG back in the day few times, and loved it. Movie unfortunately was a poor adaptation. While the opening is intriguing it quickly becomes a tired horror mess where plot is over its head so much and you start to watch at clock every 15 min. to see how much of it left. Acting wasn't bad, it's just that none of these unknown actors (except for Peter Stormire - reprising his role) will win any awards in the nearest decade. But it's the screenplay that dawns the whole thing - i couldn't care less about the outcome with 30 min left still, and that is never a good sign. Overall, "Until Dawn" is a pretty bad horror flick. The storytelling and screenplay are not good even for a horror flick. While the premise is intriguing, the execution is not. Better play the original PS4 game instead.

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Long Walk" (2025) is a movie based on Stephen King's novel released in 1979. I haven't read it myself, therefore i can only comment about the movie. I thought it was a good one. I liked acting by David Jonsson (Alien: Romulus) very much here - he is definitely an actor to look out. Directing by a veteran Francis Lawrence (Hunger Games series, I Am Legend) was very solid. At its running time 1 h 45 min this film was excellently paced considering its premise - the execution was good. The ending was a bit predictable but it's more about the ride, not about destination i guess. Music was very good during dramatic moments. Overall, "The Long Walk" is a bit of a fresh air in a dystopian sub-genre. It's premise is simple yet kinda original. Acting is very good by a lead and supporting characters. All in all i liked it quite a bit.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Escape from New York" (1981) is a pure genre classic. I watched the movie when i was a kid quite often, and i really liked it. It features great acting by Kurt Russell, great directing by a legendary John Carpenter and stunning set design. Supporting actors are first rate character actors. Music is terrific throughout the film. The first half of the film that plays like a horror movie sorts of - very moody, dark and atmospheric. If the movie did aged by this time (2026) it's not because of the sets, that is for sure. The plot is simple yet effective. Greetings from Lithuania. I've watched "Willow" (1988) for the first time in 2026 on 4K UHD disk that i bought on sale. I knew this film before but seeing it first time in 2026 is a different experience that it was when seeing it in 1988. It has good story created by George Lucas, clearly inspired by Lord of The Rings movies. Special effects, pre-cgi, are pretty good and there is a lot of practical effects, makeup that still hold up pretty well. Acting is mixed, but on a positive side. There are many silly moments that do not work, but majority of them do work and that makes for a fun adventure fantasy quest movie. Overall, "Willow" isn't a great movie, but it is solid enough to recommend it even in 2026 if one has never seen it before. The heart is in a right place in "Willow" and there is plenty to enjoy here.

Greetings from Lithuania. Imagine my surprise when nearly 20 years ago i was 11 years old and got a VHS copy (a highly good quality at the moment) of "From Dusk Till Dawn". George Clooney was just a new and nice screen presents at the time and the many horror action flick were in the future. At the time i didn't know what was the true genre of this movie, thought it was going to be a nice **** the most 50 min. it was actually a very well made thriller, with some hostages and a very likable main hero (or antagonist) and very basic plot line. But then, suddenly everything changed. At running time i think 55 min (didn't saw this movie in many many years now so sorry for inaccuracy) suddenly this thriller changed his genre in a moment, like probably no other flick till this date (02/05/2015) has ever did. From a heist thriller this became a monster movie, with NO earlier hints on that. NO hints. This is a rare as it can be. Tarantino? No. Yes and no. Even he prepares audience for a ride in a first minutes whatever wild roads it might take them. "From Dusk Till Dawn" was a different kind of beast. Gory, bloody, over the top, and bloody entertaining.Overall, if you haven't saw this flick, you probably won't be surprised of suddenly change in it's narrative during the ride because it's surely was spoiled many time already. Nevertheless, you should DEFINITELY see this flick as it delivers goods. All in or nothing - this flick delivers.

Special effects while not on "Avatar" level did looks amazing. Toothless looked exactly as i remember it from animated movie. Acting was very good by everyone involved, especially by Gerald Butler, reprising his role in a movie. Sound effects, editing and cinematography was well as music were great. No spoilers but he and the crew are back for the sequel - "Black Phone 2" (2025). This film didn't left me better impression - i liked the first one more and those one was just a sequel and felt like a one that was made in a wake of success of first film. The story here is way more convoluted and felt under its own premise. Sometimes less is better and so did first film was better. But sequel isn't the worst one either. There interesting ideas here, the setting in showy place was great (despite some shoots were clearly done in green screen). Greetings from Lithuania."Predator 2" (1990) is simply put, one of the best sequels ever or at least in my opinion it is. There were a lot of negative response regarding this picture when it came out. After watching this movie for 7-10 times in my life (seriously) I simply can not understand, why was this negative reaction. These are the reasons why in my opinion "Predator 2" is superb entertainment, based on negative stuff that I have read:1) The setting. It's a sequel, so if it would be set in jungle again, it would repeat itself. "Predator 2" takes place in urban setting, so it's 360° different than the first picture. The city itself is not overdone in futuristic style, it's 1997 (future at the time when movie was made) and crime chaos is on the streets of L.A.2)No Arnie. Really? Is that an issue? How realist is would be if out of nowhere, the same person would encounter the creature from outer space on second time. Yes, there are legendary examples like "Alien" franchise (only first two pictures), but I don't think it would have worked equally good in this franchise. The new setting – logical that it has a new lead.3)D.Glover is not an action hero. Not true! He's superbly cast here as a lead hero. In this setting, he's a cool, mortal detective who gets in very unusual situation and acts as our everyday hero. He's not Arnie, and he shouldn't be – it would be more funny if they would have cast D.Lundgren type actor as a synonym to Arnie. These are pretty much the main issues that audiences / critics have got upon it's release.Overall, "Predator 2" is superb entertainment, superb sequel - you can't ask for more.

Directing was solid for the material, because at its long running time i was entertained and it wasn't boring. Greetings from Lithuania. Martin Scorsese's "Casino" (1995) is an epic film which takes place in Las Vegas and explores real characters of a period. While this film isn't a straightforward mob movie like "Goodfellas", it is hard not to search for similarities as "Casino" explores a shady side of the business, and sometimes it's even more violent then its predecessor. I always enjoyed "Casino" for its wildly entertaining acting by great 3 leads, high energy directing style by Martin Scorsese, amazing set design, editing. But this film isn't nearly 3 hours long and its pacing isn't the best. It feels like 3 hours movie and one might argue if the movie would be better if they would shorten scenes between De Niro and Stones characters. But overall, "Casino" is a great film that one will hardly forget after watching it. It shows the dark side of Las Vegas during the time, and explores its real life characters and their relationships. Special effects were superb at the end (for the time), and still looks solid today, but of course not as great as they looked back in the day. Music by James Horner is a very good one, although not as memorable as many of his other works. Then i heard it was pretty bad, and kind of lost my interest in it. So now i finally saw it on Blue Ray and then rewatched on 4K UHD and my opinion has changed. "Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom" (2018) just as "Lost World" is a different sequel then its predecessor was. This one is a much darker visually and thematically then previous one was. The story is mixed, but mote on a positive side. First half of "Fallen Kingdom" is nothing short of amazing. The CGI and visual effects are amazing throughout the film. And the premise was also pretty involving. The second half of the film changes drastically and it is more now like a creature feature set in one, although gorgeous location. There are great shoots done in a mystery horror sense that i really enjoyed. The ending was ambiguous. Overall, creators clearly left space for more movies. First "World" was truly spectacular and had that sense of "wow". This one is pretty good on its own monster / slasher film with great visual effects and craftsmanship.

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Town" (2010) is a good crime thriller. It was directed by Ben Affleck and it was his second feature, leading to the Oscar winning "Argo" in 2012. "The Town" is a good heist film witch also has interesting characters portrayed by great actors. The film is set in Boston and the location itself adds to the film a lot. There are few great action set pieces with chases and those looked very good. Clearly a lot of effort was put into the look of this film as it is very realistic and authentic looking.Overall, great cast lead by a great director at peak of his game made "The Town" into a very good film.

Greetings from Lithuania. "I Am Legend" (2007) is a very good suspense science fiction thriller. This film works as a simple character study film that is exploring, even if for a bit, what it is to be living / surviving alone and as a gut wrenching thriller. Acting was great by, actually, two stars of a movie - Will Smith and dog Sam (Abbey), she definitely deserved some nomination here. The last scene of her in a basement always brings a tear in my eye.Setting of "I Am Legend" is a one big character in this movie. Visual effects and sound effects are amazing here. Regarding the ending of this film, I liked the original ending more (one you can find as an extra on Blu Ray disk) - it adds some much more details. Alternative ending is quite good too - the one we got to see in this film. Overall, "I Am Legend" is a great sci-fi film starring Will Smith. It is truly a showcase of how a film can be very good despite being shoot with almost none characters.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Total Recall" (1990) is a great action, science fiction film from brilliant director Paul Verhoeven. Arnold Schwarzenegger stared in this movie that i have revisited now in 2024 on 4K UHD version that i own. Its a superbly paced movie that at 2 hours is never boring or not entertaining. And despite of great make up, action scenes, superb speciall effects that this movie - its the story that separates this movie from a bunch of other in this genre. Its an excellent, multilayered story that even at the end when everything is done makes you think.Overall, "Total Recall" is a bloody, goory and superbly made classic that still hold up years later. This film delivers on a all aspects.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Goodfellas" (1990) is simply put, one of the very best movies ever made. Martin Scorsese's direction is beyond believe, but still i think that Kevin Costner was equally worth winning Oscar for best director for his masterpiece "Dances with Wolves" (1990). That said, i won't say anything new in praise for "Goodfellas" that wasn't said thousands times before. It is one of the most involving movies ever made. When it starts, it **** you in in a second and doesn't let go till the last shoot. There isn't a bad performance in this movie. I could go on and write pages about how great this movie is. Overall, see "Goodfellas" once again, as this movie is ageless. Simply put, along side with "Godfather", this is the best mob movie ever made. True masterpiece

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Mask" (1994) is a classic fantasy, slapstick comedy starring Jim Carrey. This film made him a huge A list star back in the day, and this film still hold very well in 2026. I've recently bought the excellent release on 4K UHD and watched this film and was surprised of how much i enjoyed it - i haven't seen it in years. This is slapstick comedy that does have great old school comedy in it, one that rarely can be seen today. The characters of Mask itself is star of the film - and one that is unforgettable really. Special effects do hold very good today. Music, sound design, make-up, costumes - all here are very well made. Overall, "The Mask" is a classic for a reason. This film is funny, entertaining and very well made.

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Rip" (2026) is a pretty good suspense thriller starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. This is a moody picture that plays as a thriller, mystery and suspense film. Trough not as good as previous films that these two icons have starred together, there is still a lot to enjoy in "The Rip". This is a crime film trough and trough and there is action in between. The film takes place mostly in a single location and without going into spoilers creators did managed to keep it interesting during the entire 1 h 50 min.Overall, "The Rip" is a solid film, but not as good as previous films that pair has starred in. This is a Netflix film first off all, so one should keep it's expectations at check.

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Conjuring: Last Rites" (2025) felt like the most intimate film in the series in terms of Warren family itself. The opening sequence was stunning and did moved me. Later the film (without going into spoilers) played by the usual beats, but the again a lot of was about Warrens themselves and their daughter. I liked that aspect of the movie very much. After many years playing these characters Patrick Wilson & Vera Farmiga both do it so seamlessly that this franchise holds on their shoulders - they are both excellent again in this installment as well. And this movie definitely won't be the last in the series as its box office with nearly 500 Million Dollars won't make demons stop - soon we will see continuation for sure. Overall, "Last Rites" is not the best film in the series by far, but it is a solid one nevertheless and i enjoyed it. Scares are good but far and in between, and this time it is more about Warrens themselves, yet i liked it.

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Breakfast Club" (1985) is a movie that I've watched for the first time in 2026. The nostalgia factor didn't bother me therefore seen as it is for the first time 40 years after it's release, i can say that i did enjoy this movie due to great script and good performances. This is relatively small film and works as a character study film as well as coming of age story. It does both things very well and i believe that in 1985 it was new and fresh, this is why this movie has such a great rating. But again, if seen in 2026 for the first time i doesn't have same impact, as it was copied and done many times since, and honestly, some of the copies i liked way more then this. Overall, "The Breakfast Club" is definitely a good film about young people coming together to realize some truths about themselves. It is excellently written and very well acted and directed.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Superman" (2025) is a movie that i didn't expect anything from it, and after watching it at home (skipped the movie theater due to total fatigue for superhero flicks long time ago) and i can say that it didn't surprised me a bit. Like it is OK film so see it once and has some good moments, but overall it is everything one would expect from a film from James Gunn. Like he adds to a Superman what he add to Suicide Squad and more to Guardians of the Galaxy. His humor is here, and that is the thing that worked for some parts. But also this same humour prevents me to take this film seriously when things just happening on screen, and you have already seen this stuff done till death at this point. The third act of the film i couldn't care about the outcome because of plot armor we know that they will try to milk this franchise to death so all of the characters will have to return.Overall, i honestly think that this new DC universe is going to fail very quickly at the box office, and that is all that matter for creators here - clearly. This "Superman" is just a soulless attempt to cash the cow, but even with their biggest name like Superman it barely made any money, and i don't think that next film Supergirl will do any better, quite the opposite. On it's own it is a just an OK film at its best, but doesn't bring anything new to the ill fated superhero genre at this point. I honestly liked all previous Superman movies more, especially "Man of Steel" was way better.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Hidden Figures" (2016) is an excellent film that at it's running time 2 h hits all the familiar notes of a movie but does that in a great way. Based on real events and true people it tells the story of three extraordinary women who did great and inspirational things at NASA during 60's - and i will leave it at that. Acting by all involved was great. Directing was excellent as well as screenplay. Like i said, it isn't very original film in its structure and it is a bit predictable and probably to sweet at times, but that does not change the fact that i enjoyed it very much. Overall, "Hidden Figures" tells a real inspirational story about African American women, and does this in a great, involving and entertaining way. Excellent film.

Greetings from Lithuania. I've always enjoyed "End of Days" (1999) since i was a teenager and saw it back in 1999. I've watched quite a lot back then, it was one of those good and atmospheric horror action hybrids and it was very unique for that. Directed by Peter Hyams this is a dark and moody film that has excellent performance by Gabriel Byrne and pretty good job by Arnie. Special effects were very solid and i like the pretty touching ending. Again, this film shouldn't be taken very seriously but as a action, horror thriller it does work for me. Overall, "End of Days" is an entertaining horror, thriller action hybrid. At running time nearly 2 hours i'm always entertained by it. Greetings from Lithuania. It's clear that creators of "Aquaman" really had ideas only for a one movie. I really enjoyed the first one and like to rewatch it from time to time, this one on the other hand isn't as good by far. It is a very generic and mediocre superhero flick. Like highly forgettable one. While it is on, it is not the worst one by far either - it is colorful, loud with tons and tons of CGI. But the story is very generic. Dialogs are very mediocre. Like you have seen all this many times. Overall, knowing now that this was the final film in this franchise and DC universe itself, one can't stop thinking that it was unavoidable for WB to restart this universe. "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" is a proof that when ideas runs out, all that is left is very generic.

Greetings from Lithuania. "Ghostbusters II" (1989) is not as good film as the first one was by far. On it's own it is just an OK flick. Special effects even for the time were nothing to really write home about, and in 2026 they look like a product of its era. I've seen way better even from a film that were released way earlier then 1989. Second instalment is also not as funny as the first one by far. It is more family friendly and gone as all more rude jokes. The premise with the main villain is silly and way less interest then in a first one. Overall, still an OK flick, "Ghostbusters II" is big let done in comparison with the excellent first one. Still not the worst sequel, but that is the best i can say about it.

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Mask of Zorro" (1998) is a superb entertainment, a real crowd pleaser. Made with energy, with and superb performances all over around it's a great flick from start till finish. Like many great revenge stories, this one has everything - a progressing hero, a wonderful central character and so on. "The Mask of Zorro" for me was a near perfect adventure film from the late 90's. I was a teen when this came out and i saw it many times. For me this film has a big nostalgia factor. The story is fantastically simple yet universally involving. Music by James Horner was amazing. Three great actors Antonio Banderas, Anthony Hopkins, Catherine Zeta-Jones are splendid here and Stuart Wilson was a superb villain. And leave it to a great Martin Campbell ("Casino Royale", "Goldeneye") to craft such an entertaining adventure film.Overall, "The Mask of Zorro" is a great adventure movie for me personally. Greetings from Lithuania. "Jurassic Park III" (2001) has to be one of the most shortest running blockbusters i have ever seen. While it was fun movie overall, i couldn't believe my eyes when the credits started to roll - nevertheless at running time 1 h 22 min. it delivered what it promised, sort of. Parts III was always in my opinion weakest in the trilogy and it didn't add anything new to the series. It felt like they did run out of ideas for the third film. Pacing of this movie is kind mixed bag - at short running time it still manages to drag. It lacked the "WOW" sense that was in a first movie, but still it was a pretty fun adventure film yet felt like a small spin off.Overall, "Jurassic Park III" isn't really anything to remember except that it featured Sam Neill again and he was the best part of the film. It had good special effects (for a year 2001), some new dinosaurs and was overall fun adventure but it felt like a side quest.
