This one is the best one since the original, even though I liked AVP, this one is better. For a PG-13 rating this has a lot of violence. Thankfully it's alien on alien violence or alien on synthetics violence. The ending is a dead giveaway to a sequel.
This was a so-so movie. I like Jared Leto and he singularly carried the movie. The rest of the surrounding cast was 3rd rate. Save your money and wait for it to stream. Cheers.
So, back in the early 1960s, F4 was my first Marvel comicbook superheroes. I glad to see it finallly get the proper treatment it deserves. The Fox attempts in the early oughts were okay, but this rendition is far superiour, especially with the retro feel and look. Good job Marvel Studios.
I thought it was okay. Much better than Captain America: Brave New World. I think this movie was more about the Sentinel than the actual characters. Julia Louis Dreyfuss was excellent as usual as was Florence Pugh.
I am not sure why this movie bombed as badly as it did. I watched it last night and it was thorougly enjoyable. It poses the existential questions about life, death and does it all have meaning if you can be "reconstructed" and have your most recent memories restored. Pattinson is great, but Mark Ruffalo provides most of the comic relief as a wannabe dictator. Go watch it. Cheers.
Harrison Ford was the best character in the movie. The sidekick brought nothing to the story. The rest of the movie was okay, but after the Infinity Saga it's hard to live up to such expectations.
I really enjoyed the first 2 venom movies. The trailers looked very promising for this 3rd one, but it was a bit of a dissapointment. It was slow and plodding at times and a little too sentmental at other times. The ending was quite emotional. I didn't stick around for the post credit scenes, which I believe there were two. At least it got me out of the house. Cheers.
Folks, this is a bad movie and the critics got it right. I watched it for free on YouTube earlier this week and everyone is correct when they say this is a very unpleasant offering of cow manure. The story really makes no sense and it has plagiarized a lot of material from a classic sci-fi movie made in 1956, which far superior to this movie: Forbidden Planet. Watch that instead and you will be much more enriched in your lives.
I caught this on YouTube last night. It was sort of ok, but it steals a lot from different areas. When I was a teenager, 50 years ago, I remember reading a sci-fi novel by a similar name and similar story of soldiers fighting a war in the future. However, this movie itself steals a lot from the Alien franchise, sans chestbursters. One scene is practically plagiarized from Alien vs. Predator. Some of the supporting characters really helped move this movie along, because this was not Chris Pratt's finest hour. Go see Passengers with him and Jennifer Lawrence. It's a much better story despite the low critical reviews. Cheers.
I started reading marvel comics when I was seven. It started with X-men and the Fantastic 4 and then on to the Hulk, Iron Man and the Avengers. They need to do a much better job with Prince Namor. Namor was larger than life in the comics and disappoints in Wakanda Forever. They made him look weak, but he is very powerful - ask the Avengers from 50 years ago. I'm a baby boomer in his 60s now. Toby McGuire will always be Spiderman for me. The Avengers movies, were wonderful, including Captain America: Civil War, which was essentially an Avengers' Movie. I love going to the movies and have been since I was a kid, even by myself like on the Friday opening of the latest Deadpool movie. Yeah, this 60+ year old kid was sitting by himself in the end seat of the last row in case he needed to dash to the men's room during the movie (I didn't). On to Deadpool or a more proper name should be The Redemption of Wolverine by Deadpool, et al. A heads up. This movie is nothing like the first two. This is a very different movie with a lot more violence, gore and foul language. It starts out a bit slow for the first 10 minutes or so and then takes off on a roller coaster ride for the next 100 minutes. My only reservation is that they could have done so much more with the super villain in the movie by giving this character a deeper back story and more ambiguity. Oh well, not my call. Still enjoyable. Stay for the end scene literally at the end of the credits. Cheers.
I stopped going to see Transformers at the theaters after the 3rd movie. I refused to see this monolithic, nonsensical movie in the theaters when it was released. Last night I caught the whole movie on YouTube. If one accepts the silly, out-of-left-field, mythic fantasy ill-woven into the story and the ridiculousness of the entire premise, then the movie is fairly entertaining. Once one accepts the absurdity of the whole plotline, then it's easier to watch the movie. Still not a good movie, but much better than Rise of the Beasts, which was an utter mess.
I ordered the Blu-ray disc a couple of weeks ago. I watched it last night. The first half was a little slow and plodding, but the second have picked up as one would expect. However, I think the filmmakers missed a chance at telling a really good story. All in all it was entertaining, but not as good as the first movie. Cheers.
Caught this last weekend on Peacock. This is a dark take on the story of the Ark and Noah is made out to be an anti-hero. It was barely interesting enough to keep me watching through the end, but it was not enjoyable. However it passed the time. Cheers.
How did I miss this movie from 17 years ago? It starts out a little slow, but gets interesting by the middle and caps off the end in a sweet, sort of way. This is a coming of age movie containing a lot of foul language and sexual innuendo. Cheers.
I am not sure why this movie was made. The first half is slow, plodding and boring. The second half is filled with blood, mayhem and gore. I got this DVD last week after reading a positive review a few months back. Even the worst Predator movie is better than this. This movie did not need to be made. Cheers.
Again, I was a little underwhelmed. I still think Chalamet is the wrong actor for the role of Paul Atriedes. Lots of explosions, battle scenes, etc., etc., but they left out part of the story. It makes me appreciate David Lynch's version from 40 years ago a little more. It was more true to the novel. For example, the Weirding modules were missing. These modules amplify human sound into a lethal weapon. Alia, was already born with powers of a full reverend mother in the original. Also, this movie was way too long. Movies like Infinity War and Endgame move along at a much faster clip so you don't realize how long they are. This one moved way too slowly. Don't get me wrong about Villeneuve. I loved Arrival and I really liked Blade Runner 2049. This was a bit too much of a stretch. Cheers.
These prequels are a bit of a letdown after the Harry Potter series. You've got some seriously good actors, but the stories are weak. So if we go 40 years into the future to the time of Harry Potter, we still have Dumbledore and his brother. But whatever happened to Newt Scamander? How could such a major character from the prequels suddenly disappear in the Harry Potter era? This kind of lack of continuity bothers me.
I can't believe this movie was made in 1980, 3 years after Star Wars. This is a pathetically bad movie and a waste of time. Do yourself a favor and just skip it. Cheers.
I saw this on Peacock last week. I love Paul Giamatti, so no brainer here. This movie was exceptionally engaging and a great performance from a very small cast. I highly recommend this. Enjoy.
I am not sure why this movie scored so high on the tomato meter. It was okay, but I would not say it was exceptional. It's good for killing some time, but not as fun as the second Suicide Squad movie or TopGun: Maverick. Cheers.
I watched this last night on Peacock+ out pure boredom. There are a lot of good horror movies out there, but this is not one of them. It is a completely, senseless film filled with gratuitous gore and blood. Don't waste your time on this one like I did. Cheers.
I caught this movie on Peacock last night. It was poignant, funny, sad and disturbing all at the same time. The ending was unexpected. I love Christopher Walken so the movie was that much more exceptional. Jason Bateman has definitely developed his directors chops and Nicole Kidman is fantastic as usual. Go enjoy this movie if you like watching a dysfunctional family as a slow motion train crash. Cheers.
I have been working with computers and software for over 40 years and am currently a very senior IT guy with a national company. So, I probably have a slightly skewed view of this movie, but my critique is grounded in reality and the work I do. The previews for this movie looked very promising, but like many movies it underdelivered and it seems like the writers stole a lot of material from previous movies, i.e. the artificial arm stolen from I, Robot and other theft of material from movies of the same genre and themes. However, the biggest violation was the fact that this was a slow, tedious, meaningless movie with no central plot or even a story. Folks, do yourselves a favor and watch James Cameron's first two Terminator movies. They were much better and had a more realistic take on AI. Cheers.
So, I watched this on Peacock plus yesterday. I loved all the previous Matrix movies trilogy and I even have the DVD collection. This was not even close to the same level of quality and content. This was an unnecessary, money-grabbing sequel with no heart and no real story. Shame on WB. I hope it bombed in the movie theaters, because it is a bad product. Cheers.
