While the story is OK at best, it is a pretty inoffensive rhythm game with cute new characters.

A sad remaster that fails to fix issues with the original like the frustrating airlock puzzles, the lack of development with many cast members, and slog of an ending and instead adds a personality-less new girl, a sloppily written new palace and ending, and an ugly new opening number. Persona 4 golden did everything this game does, did it better, AND was a port to a portable system.

If you can get past the depressing atmosphere and funky AI, this is a game with a gripping story and complex characters that stand the test of time.

While the characters aren’t as strong as they were in persona 4 and have issues getting the development they deserve, otherwise this is a great game. The graphics are great, the story is fun, and the battle system has been altered for the better.

This is what you want to do when you do a remaster ****. Improvements to graphics, extra character content, and fixes to the battle system and characters movesets. And all while on a portable system!
