One of the best movies I've seen this year and easily the best Transformers movie I've ever seen. It rekindled my faith in Hollywood being able to tell good stories again. Was so jaded with all the woke gender obsessed political message laden trash in movies these days but was so happy to see this awesome piece of work. Paramount, I wish you make Disney pay for its lack of vision with your success.

This is one of the nicest movies I've ever seen. I remembered it well into my middle age and when I came across it again I made a point to show it to my son. It's a lesson in persevering against the odds and even when everyone is laughing at you and throwing obstacles your way, to keep trying if you believe in yourself. And to show that while the struggle to achieve is what defines people and friendships, winning itself isn't everything. Beautifully made movie.

Way overhyped. The movie has some nice bits but on the whole it was just more of the same, with excessively childish humour mixed with copious same sex references all over the place, which makes one wonder who the hell the target audience of this thing is. I definitely am not going to take my son for this one - was going to because were both fans of Ragnarok and Taika is the director there too. I'm not a conservative nut job and am generally open minded but I fail to see why sexual references (hetero or otherwise) need to be in a movie like this. It's just jarring. It could have been a much better movie had they just dialed down all the weirdness.

This has to be one of the most over-rated Batman movies about. It tries very hard to be "The Dark Knight" but comes up woefully short. Very minor spoilers ahead. Nothing about the story itself. 1) Batman comes across as just a regular shmo running around in a cape. No cool James Bond style, he seems almost .. fragile. And this isnt a rap on the choice of actor - he actually is pretty good (no Christian Bale, but hes arguably as good as Ben Affleck), but the dialog in parts comes across a bit whiny and Batman doesn't come across being as intimidating as the other movies because of it. 2) The story is way to long and gets a bit dull at times. I mean sure it builds up a story but it takes way long to do so. Halfway in I found my attention wandering, which doesn't happen at other long movies like Avengers:Endgame e.g. 3) The villain and plot development isnt bad, but it feels more like a serial killer movie than a Batman movie. Some of the backstory about his family has an interesting twist, and the noir feel reminds me a bit of John Wick but it doesn't come together as well as that one (Batman is neither cool enough nor intimidating enough) So all in all ... underwhelming.

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Please do not judge this movie from the same lens of TLJ. I loved all the original trilogy (Empire being my favourite), and also liked Revenge of the Sith. I did not like Force Awakens that much (it was too alike to what came before), and I absolutely hate TLJ with a passion. TLJ is the worst major film I had ever seen. So I was very circumspect about going for Solo assuming the worst. Waited for the reviews and they weren't encouraging either. But they were not as bad as TLJ so I thought I'd go. And I didn't regret it. This move is roughly as good as Return Of The Jedi. It is slightly overdone in some places, and its not entirely fair to compare Han Solo to only Harrison Ford, but this is a good movie. It is literally nail biting action and suspense, good dialog (miles better than TLJ and better than the Prequels), and very nice visuals but not over the top to the point of interfering with the plot. If there is one criticism I have of the movie, the primary villain played by Paul Bettany is a bit weak. I just don't feel intimidated by his presence in the least. I am not a paid shill but I cannot emphasize enough to fans that they should give this movie a chance. It is far and away one of the best of the newer Star Wars movies to come out of Disney. Disney, please bring back Kasdan and throw out Rian Johnson. As he would put it, "bury him if you have to" ;-) Update: Went to see the movie again after a couple of days and enjoyed it in different ways the second time around. I really like this film but fear the message it sends to Disney if it flops. I don't think the franchise can survive another TLJ and implore Disney to not think that was a "successful" movie just because it made more money. That movie did well because of expectations it can't possibly be bad while Solo is doing badly because people assume it will be. An interesting indicator is, the metacritic score for solo is higher and still climbing as word of mouth slowly trickles into the ears of more fans. Update! Saw this movie a total of 4 times and it still never gets old. I don't do this often, and didn't do this for TFA. This is the sort of film I feel happy watching just like A New Hope. Very well made. And to the haters who think I'm a Disney plant, go ~~~~ yourselves. Grow up and go enjoy the movie rather than hating just for the sake of it.

As a Star Wars film under Lucas, probably his worst. As a Star Wars film in general, still very original and good (a whole landslide better than TLJ)

The best Star Wars movie ever made. In some ways, the best movie ever made (the shot of "I am your father" will forever be one of the most memorable in movie history)

To quote Mark Hamill "What a piece of junk!" Remarkable in it's stupidly conceived plot. Off color humor more suited to a low budget screwball comedy than something with the weight of star wars. Desecrated everything fans loved about the saga and fills the void with a far stupider premise. Unwatchable. In fact I wish I could unwatch this incomprehensibly trashy movie.

Starts out with some promise, but descends into cheap and vulgar humor. Dialog is ok but overall acting is a hit and miss. There are some rare parts of it which are genuinely fun but on the whole I came away feeling like I wasted my time and money on this one.

Very nice. Possibly one of the best of the franchise (upstaged only by the first one). The final scene was also a very fitting tribute to Paul Walker - got me get a bit choked up because you can sense there was real feeling put into it and not just an act. The only reason I gave it a 9 and not a 10 was because there was some pretty blatant brand placement in the movie (Corona beer, Abu Dhabi tourism?).

Saw the reviews here and went to see the movie anyway just out of curiosity for why it made a 100 million so quickly at the box office. If you're looking for depth, riveting storyline, and something extraordinarily different from the earlier movies, this movie isn't for you. But if you put that aside, like to see cool CG effects, hot women, and generally have a popcorn flick where you can switch off your brain and watch the spectacle unfold, this movie isn't half bad. Its far from being a great movie, but it is even further from being a terrible or unwatchable one. Give it a go

Weak plot, wooden dialogue and at times breathtakingly stupid. The zombie effects were somewhat interesting (which is why I didn't give it a plain zero) but aside from that the movie was an utter waste of time and money.

Slightly Interesting story - a bit confused at times mixing too much diverse sci-fi into the same story. Good acting and direction. HORRIBLE violence -- its way to excessive and gory at times and un-necessarily so. It makes Tarentino look like a sissy. And that's not easy to do, neither is it a good thing to achieve.

Possibly the best bond movie ever - and I have seen all the other ones. It is good exactly because it is nothing like the other ones. This movie feels more like a Die Hard (part 1) than a Bond flick. Believable storyline, forward looking and modern script and awesome direction. Daniel Craig has totally redeemed himself on this one. I always looked at him as too gruff to suit the Bond character, but this role demanded exactly that rough exterior and could not have been done by anyone else (with the possible exception of Sean Connery) If I tried (really hard) to find fault with it, all I could say is, its rather long! But an all around awesome movie ...

I read the reviews here before I decided on going for the movie. Judging by the low score here, I assumed it would be a pretty flat movie but I was pleasantly surprised! Not only is this movie as good as the first, in some respects its even better. The only reason I would suspect that this movie got a low score here is that its a bit too involved to be a pure kiddy movie. Its actually got all the pizazz of a James Bond flick and plenty of laughs thrown in as well. Sure the dialog could be better in some places, but its really not all that bad a film overall.
