The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild0

Zelda really ought to move faster, especially on his snowboard. It's too slow and boring. Nintendo is wasting my time by making me wait for their slow animations to complete. Do they think I have all day? I don't, and I'm not about to waste what little free time I have on watching this slow character plod about in a way that only serves to artificially extend the games length. It's also really hard to be immersed in the Zelda universe when he can climb up completely flat surfaces by grabbing non-existent hand holds. It's gotten so bad I actually have to pretend to grab the rougher bricks and act as if I will fall if I grab the flat surfaces. I shouldn't have to go to this much effort to make the game work in a realistic way. Overall, great game ruined by some easily fixable problems. I hope you're listening, Nintendo.

A fantastic game, it's certainly an experience to play. Playing on Ironman mode really enhances the atmosphere of the title, as when you lose a soldier you really lose a soldier, no going back. Combat is actually dangerous, which makes the whole game tense as you don't want to lose your most trusted sniper to a surprise attack. There is a very respectable memorial should you lose your top guy. I am deducting a point however because of a few small bugs.

Dear Esther0

Honestly, it's not a game. It could easily have been a cut scene or a short movie, but then again you wouldn't get the fan boy defence corps or all that juicy profit if it wasn't sold as a game. The game tells you the story of Esther's husband wandering through a Hebridean island (A thoroughly ugly scene to behold) coming to terms with his wife's death. You are somehow automatically expected to care about the wife or his plight and are subjected to 45 minutes of gripping.... holding down the W button. You walk painfully slowly through the island, often being encouraged to take a wrong turn to try and find additional dialogue. The problem is the dialogue just isn't interesting or rewarding. The whole piece is neither emotionally gripping nor philosophically gripping, so I honestly don't know what it is aiming for. What Dear Esther needed was dynamic content and emotion. What it has is neither.

Halo 40

Halo 4 really was a disappointment. After Halo Reach's bad story and ODST's general awfulness, Halo really needed a booster shot to get it back in the game. The matchmaking was a big improvement over previous version, I must admit. However, the campaign was extremely boring, it really did drag. The terminals were actually better than the campaign, but then you can just watch those on YouTube rather than wasting £40. The fact that the matchmaking kept me playing for about a week at most is telling of the games quality, in my opinion. Also, people talk about the superb graphics? I have seen no such thing. Just try to tell me that MC's new visor looks better than the old one.
