It was alright till hide-n-seek episode. I HATE this mechanic with burning passion, because it's just brainless retry-fodder with no content whatsoever. If it was hide-n-seek game from the beginning, I would just skip it altogether. But this crap appeared only in chapter 3, so I already wasted my time on just-above-mediocre horror to drop it due to mechanic I won't engage in my life.

Fanboys love to refer to combat as something you need to learn. You are not learning anything if your only option is to bash your head against the wall and memorize what timing of bashing doesn't give you skull fracture. And very next wall requires completely new timings, so you basically learned NOTHING. Purest form of retry fodder ****.

I'm really baffled HOW can you make ARPG THIS level of boring. I was yawning an hour in, two hours in I just uninstalled. Fanboys and shills will yet another time yell "Wait for another season! THIS time they will fix everything!" For 10th bloody time in a row. Update for Season 11: now with p2w! They really gated 1/4 of seasonal power behind "expansion", that includes overpowered class , new location (as if first 5 were not enough, lol) and mercenaries from D3 (cut content to sell it separately)

Just as any other metroidvanias, it just tries to do its best to waste your time. Empty locations with trivial platforming. Then trivial boss with 3 moves and horrendous hitboxes. Another 10 empty locations with trivial platforming. Three hours of pure slog. Atmosphere is... there. Completely ruined by almost absent gameplay. And no, I won't waste my time beyond first three hours just because "it opens up later". If it needs more than 3 hours, it's not "opening up", it's sunk cost and Stockholm syndrome are kicking in.

Well, game's technical part is nice. Everything is smooth, stable fps and nice picture. That's it.
*inhales*
Generic "machines gone mad" story. Bland world (have to mention because of soooo many references to Bloodborne), overused to frustration "traps" and "gotcha"-s.
Combat... Imagine taking EVERYTHING that ever made you angry in all FromSoft games and putting it into single game. Enemies attacks that track you to "screw physics" level? Check.
Getting stunlocked to death by single enemy? Check.
Getting hit while enemy attacked literally other direction? Check.
Also it invented its own!
Red attack (also a huge red flag here)
Block that does a thing only when "perfect", rally hp otherwise (that fades if you get hit), anyway consumes stamina and weapon durability (like wut?). So you are literally punished for not being perfect.
Serviceable dodge locked behind skill tree.
Freaking HP sponges. Hitting for 150 while boss has 2000 hp? Yep, it's there.
Attacks that are delayed for some random time (0 - 1,5 seconds) with exactly same windup. Well, FromSoft do that too, but here you also have only ~5 frames of actual attack. Reacting? Nah, just memorize it. And no, FromSoft never did "memorize every attack timing to 0.1 second precision", you always had time to react (even it was somewhat tight). Can't come up with good boss? Make mediocre one, then draw something above it, make several more attacks and call it a second phase.
If everything above is not a definition of bad souls-like, I don't have a single idea what is.
