Nintendo, nintendo, nintendo, why are you so good and so bad at the same time? This game is amazing, but when I pay full price for a game made by NINTENDO I expect quality. I don't want to get hit by a lag spike every time I enter a new area or by just walking around. It never dips below 15fps but it happens ALL THE TIME and it really breaks the immersion. Very disappointed with how much lag is in this game. If you don't want to buy it because of that I don't blame you. Otherwise the game is really good, a solid 9/10 game but come on Nintendo, there can't be this much lag in a game that has toon graphics. Hoping for a patch in the coming days.

I never played the original Dr. Mario games so I have no idea how true the gameplay is to it's roots but I think they work for what they are. They throw plenty of new mechanics in there the farther you get so it doesn't get stale. It's cute to have a puzzle game that is filled with iconic Nintendo characters but that's all there really is to it. The multiplayer mode is very fast paced and gets very competitive higher up on the ladder, there are some random elements in the form of "assistants" that gives a chance to do certain things but they never seem too overpowered so the pay to win factor is basically none. If you're good you're gonna win over a millionaire. This doesn't excuse the absurd amount of micro transactions you'd have to make to get even close to all the characters. To even get a chance of getting a "doctor" (20% chance, otherwise you get an assistant) you need to play between 100-200 games in multiplayer depending on your rank. One game plus queue time takes approximately 2 minutes so this means you need to spend 3-7 hours for a CHANCE of getting a character. Absurd. Of course you gain coins way more quickly in single player but if you get stuck there and need better characters to progress you're screwed. Which means you need to spend real money on items to get unstuck. The game works fine and is quite fun but if you're gonna play, play in short sessions or play the multiplayer mode, otherwise they're gonna get you with those micros.

Brace Yourself Games has done an amazing job taking care of these Zelda characters that we all love so much. There is so much attention to detail and if I didn't know better I would've thought Nintendo just made this spin off game themselves. But this is not a 10/10 game and I don't really understand how people can put it on that level among other masterpieces like Breath of the Wild and Ocarina of Time. It's a perfectly fine game and it does what it's supposed to do pretty good but in the long run it's nothing special. The gameplay is something that can take some time to get used to but when you do it feels really fluid. The only problem I have with it is that it's only hard for the first hour or so. When you get some hearts and better weapons the challenge kinda fades away and the end of the game is really easy. I died a total of 13 times during my 7 hour run and 10 of those were during the first two hours. The only other complaint I have is the pricing. It's a Zelda game and people will pay for that but that isn't an excuse for it costing 25$ with 8 hours of gameplay (if you 100% complete it). I want to play more but there just isn't anything else to do. Good game, not a masterpiece though.

I bought this game hoping it would be a quick fun game in the same way as bomber-man, easy to pick up and great to play with some friends at a party. It looks fun and the first few games are interesting and cool but you quickly realize that the game just isn't fun. I don't really know why, the game idea is fine. Flipping tiles by jumping on them to cover the most area is something that's been done in Mario party and that was fun but this just isn't. There are a big variety of maps and some game modes but every game feels the same and it doesn't always feel like the best player wins. The movement feels weird sometimes too, it's like you move slower up and down and faster sideways, don't know why that is. Get bomber man or astro bears instead.

Golf Peaks is a cute little game that takes a different approach to the mini golf genre. The game constantly throws new mechanics at the player, making the game deeper every world, but it never uses all the mechanics at the same time which I think would have been a perfect st up for a last and more challenging world with bigger levels. The game is very short, two hours if you do everything, maybe two and a half if you get stuck a lot. It feels like there is a lot of missed potential because there are no huge levels with 10+ moves, the most moves you have is maybe 7-8. And as I said before, they never really use all of the mechanics at the same time in a level which I feel would have been cool. A cross over between mini golf and puzzles, buy it if you're into that kind of stuff.

Pikuniku is a very polished and high quality game. When I say high quality I'm talking about the sound, animations and overall feel of the game. It does however fall short on many occasions. It's trying to be a funny adventure and in the beginning you will definitely blow air through your nose several times but when you get farther in you notice that they put all the funniest stuff in the beginning. The character movement is a thing many people hate on but I actually like it because it's not supposed to be a super hardcore platformer and it fits the game to be a rolling and wobbling little ball. What I don't like is that there is so little platforming, I actually enjoyed the platforming stages but for me it never got challenging, they could've done more. The third thing is that the game is so short, it takes 3 hours to beat it and if you want to 100% it, it'll just take you an hour or two more. It's a decent game while you play it but when your finished you feel like you've been ripped of. A game with a lot of missed potential.

Owlboy is a weird game to review. I want to love it but it has so many flaws that I end up only ”kind of liking it”. The art, music and characters are what carries this game. It’s crazy how good pixel art can look when done correctly. The characters are funny and likable which makes the story more interesting (even though it’s a pretty basic story). Owlboy has a beautiful world and a very unique game play idea that unfortunately doesn’t work that well. 2D platforming with no boundaries doesn’t work. The game tries to make it work but the flying always feels somewhat clunky and you end up bumping into things you didn’t mean to all the time. The game is a bit short (took me 6 hours) but it still felt like a chore to complete the last two hours. There just isn’t enough ”game” in this game, it’s more of a visual novel. And when the novel part isn’t great the game isn’t great either. Overrated

Why this game had to be a rougelite I will never understand. It would work perfectly fine as a game you play with levels that you can redo and then a hardmode with permadeath but no, they had to make both difficulties permadeath. It adds nothing to the game, just frustration. You don’t get any rewards per run or anything like it. It’s the worst kind of rougelite. It’s so frustrating when you’ve played for three hours (easy three hours too) and then a new enemy you’ve never seen before comes in and whoops your ass since you didn’t know his attacks. Now you gotta do it all over again. It **** because the game is super good and fun. Make it possible to retry levels on normal and it’s a 8/10, but now... it gets the boot.

A fun and unique little puzzle game. It can be a little hard understanding how to game works at first but when you get the hang of it it becomes really fun. Games can take from 5 minutes to hours if you really want to think every move trough. And it’s challenging too. The downsides are the lack of game modes (there is only one) and some poorly translated text which can make the rules of the game hard to understand (but after playing the game a couple of times you’ll get the hang of it anyway). Worth the money if you want a new kind of puzzler.

It’s a good ”phone” game which is not that impressive considering all the crap that’s out there. It’s not an automatic game, where you can press ”autoplay” and it plays for you like the new pokémon spin-off, which is good. There is some actual skill involved and you have to be either really good or grind for gear to beat harder levels. There is online play but it’s not real time, instead you pick three of your ships to defend. Some other player will then attack your ships who are controlled by AI. You attack other players three AI-controlled ships. There is no need to buy stuff for real money (I’m guessing that need will come when it gets harder) but you can and you will gain an advantage by it but I feel like that advantage isn’t too great. Also, you can play as much as you want, it’s not energy-based, but if you take damage a lot you might run out of money to repair it with and then you have to wait. It’s free, try it and see if you like it

The mouse you instead control moves waaaay to fast and although there is a way to make it go slower (much, much slower) I would've preferred a settings menu where you could control the cursor speed. The game falls short however on it's lack of game play, it makes you think you can make choices but all you're really doing is getting different lines of text that all lead to the same point. Snake Pass, a platform game in which you play as a snake collecting things while saving the wildlife. I haven't played anything like it before and the game is actually really fun, who thought slithering around as a snake could be fun? And by fun I also mean crushingly hard at times. There are 4 worlds with a total of 15 levels split across the worlds. 3 gems are scattered across each level which are mandatory to collect to be able to advance to the next level. There are also a buch of bubbles scattered around in easy spots (although getting all can be hard) and 5 coins in difficult places. This makes for many hours of game play if you are a completionist, I'm not though so it took me about 6 hours to collect it all. The worlds are colourful and bright and the music fits perfectly for each world. Now for the cons: - The HD rumble is broken(?) so you should turn it off. It was the first thing I did since it felt like the joy-con would explode every time they rumbled (and they rumble A LOT in this game). edit: This was fixed in a patch one day after release. The rumble could still be better but at least it works now. - The graphics are a bit blurry and feel unoptimized, my eyes hurt when I played in handheld mode but playing on the TV felt just fine. - The default controls felt weird to me so I switched to the "easy" controls which were much better. Might just be my personal preference though. Snake Pass is definitely worth it's 20€ price tag and I would recommend it to anyone who wants a challenging platformer.

A very innovative game, definitely unlike anything you've ever seen Mario in, but it works! The game will be hard though, some levels took me up to 10 tries to beat and that can be frustrating if you don't realize what you're doing wrong. Take a break, come back to it later and you'll probably beat it then. You can go grind some side quests to level up if it's getting too hard but it is beatable without that. The length of the game is perfect. It started getting repetitive against the end but finished just in time to still be enjoyable. I didn't do side quest stuff and it took me 20+ hours. With all the side quests I imagine you get about 30+ hours out of it. The game is not for everyone, if you don't like strategy games you shouldn't buy this but if you do it's a must have for the switch. Also, I don't think kids under the age of 10 will be able to beat it (but maybe I'm wrong on that one) Solid game, not a masterpiece though, 8/10

Puyo Puyo Tetris is a mash up of the Japanese game Puyo Puyo and the classic Tetris (blew your mind there didn't I?). The game is really fun to play in battle mode with your friends and there are a lot of different game modes and settings to choose from. Same goes for single player, there are many ways to play in arcade mode and the story mode is fairly long as well. But even with all this in mind I still regretted buying this game for 40€ because it doesn't feel like a 40€ game. Don't get me wrong, the game is good and if you enjoy casually playing puzzle games like this one you should definitely go buy it. I just don't feel like it's worth it's price tag. With a lower price tag it's a 7/10 and maybe even a 8/10, but for now, I'm gonna have to give it a 6.

I definitely agree with most people that this should 've been bundled in with the switch. But I also think that the game is really fun when played in a party of 4 or more. Even though a lot of the game modes are pretty stupid they become fun when playing with friends. What we find most fun to do is shuffle mode winner remains which is a fun cometitive way to play all the game modes. There is a team mode but we found that one to be "Mariokart-y" where the losing team gets an edge. One thing that bothered us was that the high scores weren't saved which really should be updated. Overall a great local party game, a genre where Nintendo shines and will continue to shine for many years to come.

If you've ever played "Achtung! Die kurve" (now known as curve fever) or any other similar game you know that this will be a blast to play with your friends. Super fun to play 4 players, 3 player and 2 player is ok but not nearly as fun as the maximum, keep that in mind if you don't get together with friends that often. DO NOT buy this game if you are alone, the single player is not even worth a dollar. It's kinda like snake and it's fun to go for a big score but without any global leader boards it quickly loses it's charm. If you want a fun and quick game to play with your friends this might be the best option out there for the switch right now, not kidding. Let me start of by saying that SWD2 looks amazing and feels amazing. That being said, I feel like it's missing some things here and there. I completed the game in 7 hours, there are many collectibles that I've not yet found but I was never the type that wants to 100% any game. I played through it in my own pace and explored the places I wanted to explore so I feel like I'm done playing it. The first three hours of the game are the best. You get to familiarise yourself with the townspeople, find minerals in the mines to upgrade your stuff and explore the lands of steam world which is amazing. But as the game went on I realized that there was not a lot of variety even though at the same there were... There are few enemies and very few "blocks" to mine and the minerals all look the same (if you don't look close). There are, however, many upgrades and a somewhat interesting story which keep you going. At the end of my play through I caught myself hoping it would end soon so I could play something else, even though it just took me 7 hours to beat. I feel like the price tag is too big for the amount of game you get. The quality of game is good but the amount is too little but if I were to keep exploring to find every little object in the world, the quality wouldn't be good enough. It's a good game, but not the best. 7.5/10

Who would have thought that a retro golf game could be so fun? I had a blast playing this non-stop for three days. It took me 13 hours to beat but I bet you could get 20 hours out of it doing all of the side quests. Not to mention the re playability of just playing some golf. There are many glitches (most get solved by restarting the game) but I've heard that the devs are working on it as soon as possible. The story is funny, you will chuckle a lot, and uses the rumble feature the best out of any game on the switch so far. The golfing is not super hard for someone used to these types of games but it's still really good and satisfying because it's fair. If you hit it in the water it's because you're bad, you can't blame it on anything else. The skill system can be a bit hard to understand if you're not into golf though so make sure to google it so you understand how it works. This game would've probably been a 8/10 for me but the thing that puts it into the 9/10 spot is the price tag. There are so many games on the switch that takes advantage of the fact that there are few games by raising the prices but this is not one of them. For 15$ this is a must have for any RPG or Golf fan.

Nintendo for me has always been about having fun with my friends and playing games together with different people. The switch does not yet have a lot of those kind of games and Just Dance fills that void just fine. The best thing about this game is that anybody can play, even my grandmother, you can't say that about almost any other game. Sure there are many things that can be improved, more songs (you get a 3 month premium trial though), no mic, no video, no new features etc. But even with this in mind I still think Just Dance Switch is one of the must haves if you play the switch primarily with friends. I read the reviews before trying this game and even though the critics gave it a 5/10 I trusted the public and bought it anyway. Definitely a good decision. Do not buy Has-Been Heroes if you're looking for a good story, stunning graphics or amazing music. However, if you're looking for a fun, rouge-like and very strategic game you're in the right place. The critics complain that the game is too random and while the random part is true I have to disagree with them about it ruining the game. I've played through the game 6 times and completed it 3 out of those times. My first two deaths were me being a beginner and not understanding the game and the last death was by my mistake at the last boss fight. I definitely could 've won that run if I had played better. What I'm trying to say is that even though you may not be able to win every run even while playing perfectly you can definitely win most runs if you get good at the game. And isn't dying a part of rouge like games anyway? Has-Been Heroes has so far been fun for me but I feel like it might get a bit grindy after maybe 15-20 hours of play. Other than that it's a good well made game with a unique combat system that is very strategic. You will be spending most of your time in combat so I would recommend looking at some game play to see if you like it or not. To the critics complaining about the difficulty I only have one thing to say. GIT GUD

Being free to do anything you want almost from the get go is what makes this an amazing experience. Whenever I think, "maybe I can do this..", I can!
