If you liked "Kingmaker" you will also like Wrath of the Righteous. The base of the game is the same as the previous title, but with more polish and a LOT of new things in the form of mythic paths, that gives you dozens of different ways (other than the 20+ classes..) to play through the game. The Crusade mechanic is an improvement over the Kingdom Management from "Kingmaker" and overall pretty good, even if the balancing feels somewhat off.

After the D&D ruleset changing into something more accessible, the Pathfinder ruleset gives a satisfying amount of "crunch" required to make an optimal character. It requires you to invest some time into learning the classes and races to understand what synergizes well, but it's definitely worth doing it if you like to have a more deep experience when making your character(s) than the newer D&D games out there. Overall the game feels very big but also very detailed, and the only major complaint is that the timed Kingdom Management and timed events can really give you some "feels bad moments".

A very solid "JRPG" with a gripping story and very nice art direction. The constant Real Time Reactions required for combat however is tiring and lowers the fun factor by a lot. The camera work in combat is also beyond terrible with the camera view jumping around constantly and rapidly. Overall a very nice JRPG but not very original, and it definitely earned it's epilepsy warnings.

After Pillars of Eternity managed to modernize the classic Infinity-feel of games, "Deadfire" takes it one step even further. Most mechanics are even more streamlined (while still maintaining the right amount of complexity) and cleaned up, the graphics are greatly improved (been a long time since I last saw a game this beautiful, both in the technical aspect but most of all in it's art direction), and the writing is still on point. Personally I really liked the "pirate setting" as well but I guess I can understand why people looking for classic fantasy was a bit put off by it. All in all it has become one of my all-time favourite RPGs and games in general.

Great cRPG set in an original world filled with rich history and stories. Gameplay itself hearkens back to classic cRPG titles from the Infinity-era of games, succesfully polishing and modernizing the basic mechanics for a new generation of gamers while still maintaining the soul of previous games in the genre. The setting and story are both quite original compared to your more traditional fantasy settings, and there is great writing to really flesh it out. It's a real achievement to make a new setting/world feel so full and alive like it already had decades of world building.

A whole lot of nothing put in a very shiny package. Great production value but actual game content and mechanics are sub-par and lacking compared to other games in the genre. After lots of patches and fixes since release it now performs better, but still riddled with bugs.
