Team Fortress 210

This game is on a whole other level for FPS games. Not only are the mechanics, physics, controls, and gameplay all spot on, but also the whole idea that 9 entirely different play styles (classes) could be balanced so extremely well by Valve is a massive accomplishment. The game has no story mode, but the 'cast' boasts a lot of humor with the banter and quotes from all the different characters. There is some backstory, found in comics, but this is for more invested fans. Casual fans will still have a blast. The weapons are very varied, but stock weapons are a lot of fun. The map variety as well as many different game modes makes it very hard to be bored with this game like a lot of FPS shooters. Despite this game having been out for over 7 years now, Valve constantly supports this with new updates and modes. Mann vs Machine is a blast, for example. The workshop function allows for creative designers to create new items/weapons for possible integration in TF2. I would recommend staying away from training mode, the only way to truly improve your skills is online multiplayer, it really speeds up your learning. The community while sometimes having trolls is great banter, the F2P and P2P thing is kind of funny too. probably the best thing about TF2 besides the game itself is the Source Film Maker videos which allow you to take TF2 characters into many world and situations and make a little movie. The Saxxy Awards (Oscars) rank the funniest and most well made every year, this year's overall winner was hilarious (Turbulence). GET THIS GAME NOW IF YOU PLAY VIDEOGAMES AT ALL!!!!

Mario Kart 89

A throughly excellent addition to my now growing Wii U library, Mario Kart 8 is without a doubt a worthwhile purchase. The game uses the Wii U's graphics to great effect, creating wonderful settings for whipping around the course with your favorite Mario mascot. Retro courses are well designed. But the new courses are exciting as well. Battles are a disappointment, however. Instead of a small, compact, brand new/retro arena like Mario Kart Wii among others, you instead just race around the same courses you use for multiplayer and single player. This is the only reason why I didn't give this game a ten. Online mode is outstanding, with connection speeds that are fast and lag doesn't exist. Here's hoping they use online this well in the new Smash Bros!

Call of Duty: Black Ops II9
Sep 17, 2013
Since this game has three main modes-Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, I will dedicate each a separate review. Campaign: There are returning characters from the first Black Ops, but plenty of new ones too. The story flips between the 1980's and 2025, where futuristic weaponry is incorporated with style. The voice acting is great, and this, combined with a nice script, makes the time jumps easier to follow. I won't spoil, but this campaign definitely incorporates player choice nicely, which affects the fates of a few people in the game and also the ending. This campaign is not one to be overlooked. Multiplayer: A few changes have been made here. You can know freely edit your class and choose attachments, perks, kill streaks, etc. to make your customized load out. The variety of modes and maps is mostly above satisfactory. The online community isn't very large, mainly because the Wii U's sales aren't very high. The gamepad can be used to call in score streaks and to see your load out, all without pressing a button. The two player split screen truly rocks. One person uses the gamepad, and the other person uses the tv screen and a pro controller, classic controller, or wii remote and nunchuck. You can easily add friendly or enemy bots and change their difficulty, or set the amount of time you have in a match. This mode is fantastic, and even players who mostly play locally will put in hours on Multiplayer. Zombies: This mode isn't very different from the past Black Ops. There are multiple modes even without DLC. Survival is no different, you start with 500 points, an M1911 pistol, and a knife for melee kills. You keep fighting the undead, hitting the mystery box, buying perks, and throwing monkeys until you die. Grief mode allows up to 8 players in two four-player teams. They can choose to work together or fight against each other. Finally there is Tranzit, an adventure mode with a bus that takes you around. There are buildable objects, from a turbine to open doors to an overpowered wonder weapon for high round lovers. This is very fun either with friends or solo. Dlc is already out with new maps for zombies along with multiplayer, so these three modes aren't alone. If you enjoyed Black Ops zombies, you will certainly love tip his one. Overall this is an amazing first person shooter that is worthy of your money. Even without DLC, this game is truly amazing. The Wii U's new features are incorporated fantastically, and in the end, this should be stuck in your Wii U while you game the night away. Definitely a great addition to the COD series. Treyarch should be applauded for this.

WWII Aces7

I bought this at a grocery store for about fifteen bucks. The gameplay is enjoyable, and it is always fun shooting down the Luftwaffe over Normandy. The campaign has no cutscenes, and the voice acting is only at the beginning of each mission when your commander gives you your objectives. The graphics are not very pleasing to the eye, and unless you know your history, you might get lost during the story. The replay value is mainly unlocking new planes and completing each mission on all the difficulty. Co-op mode is awesome during the story, and I would recommend giving it a try. Multiplayer is good, but there is no online mode, which is unfortunate, so unless you have a friend or family member available, you won't stay for long. If you find this game at a discounted price, give it a go.

A masterpiece in platforming. Sure, the story is definitely nothing novel worthy, but the graphics are masterful. Everything looks amazing. The controls are flawless, the replay value is high, and the camera is almost always in the right position. Probably one of the best parts of the game is its soundtrack. It is truly wonderful to listen to. Buy the soundtrack if you can. The difficulty is very consistent except for maybe a couple boss fights and some of the purple coin levels. If you own a Wii or Wii U, get to GameStop, BuyBacks, Amazon, or any retailer that sells this game. It is worth every single penny.
