Above average story, excellent atmosphere, and probably the best looking game yet. If you enjoyed Metro 2033, buy this without hesitation. If you enjoyed Half Life 2 or Bioshock Infinite, this should be at the top of your list. Sleeper hit of 2013

If you are at all a fan of games like Half Life 2 or Bioshock, I need you to stop what you are doing, go to the nearest Wal-Mart, sift through the Bargain bin, and find this Dirt-Cheap. You will not regret it.

Whether or not this game is worth picking up depends on what you are looking for in an FPS. If you want a fast-paced interactive Michael Bay movie that holds your hand every step of the way, turn back now. If you want a true challenge that is as close to reality as possibly, give this a whirl. I'll start with this: This game does NOT hold your hand, everything takes patience and getting used to. The Single-Player, while short, was fun while it lasted, and while it was buggy at points (In the Vanilla, thanks to the games modding community I managed to fix the AI bugs mostly.) it was still a nice campaign. Your actions in the campaign influence what missions you get and how the game ends. For example: There is a mission where you pilot an AH-64D to take out AA Nests. If your chopper gets shot down and you pull off a proper crash landing (And survive the crash), instead **** screen, you get a mission to rescue that pilot. Most of the fun, however, lies in Multiplayer. Thanks to mods like ACE and DayZ, there is hundreds of hours of fun to be had. If you get into a decent clan and are good with teamwork, this game seriously kicks ass. Lone Wolfs do not last long at all, however. The Editor is probably what gives the most value, you have these insanely large maps, and you can do pretty much ANYTHING. Want to HALO Jump with a four man team in the middle of pitch-black night and slowly pick off insurgents one-by one? You can do that. Want to launch a full-scale invasion with UH-60s full of ground troups and AH-64s ripping armor to shreds? You can do that. Want to JDAM an entire town just for the hell of it? You can do that. If you have patience, this game could be the death of your Social Life. If you are the everyday CoD player and have no interest in making a swap from Arcade to Milsim, this is not your game.

For $15, you get an extra 4-6 hours of gameplay. Might sound like a bit much, but compared to $15 for a few new multiplayer maps in games like Call of Duty, this DLC is a diamond amongst a sea of **** If you enjoyed the core game, then give this a shot. Improvements to lighting, more of the excellent soundtracks, and more Deus Ex. Challenging, atmospheric, and high replay value. It's the Deus Ex experience we all know and love dearly.

Now that the price has gone down, this game is worth a try. The Single-Player is well made and fun to play through, but unfortunately way shorter than it should have been. Which is a shame, because the game is seriously stunning while it lasts. Just over a year later, the Multiplayer's been fixed up for the most part, and is still moderately active. If you've got a spare $20, this game is definitely worth a try.

Unlike most of the negative reviews here, I am reviewing THE GAME. Not the horrible Origin service, or the Battlelog. Let's start with Single-Player: The storyline might be generic, but it is a well-executed one that does make sense, and has some pretty good voice acting at times. Some moments were executed well. One certain execution of a character was a real punch to the gut, even more so than "The Coup" from Call of Duty 4. Another scene really is a shock to players, I'm not going to spoil any more. But this game really did pull off some great set-pieces. For the gameplay, if you played CoD you know what to expect, One mission does give you full control of a tank, but sadly that is the only mission that gives you full control of a vehicle. The gunplay however, feels responsive, and thanks to the Frostbite 2 engine, Is complete eye and ear candy. Bullets whiz past you, Rockets deafen you as you hear chunks of debris fall the the ground, and guns sound realistic. The graphics are beautiful as well, and the campaign takes about 8 hours to complete. The Quick Time events I did not have a problem with, They at least give you some form of interactivity in the cutscenes, unlike CoD, where you just sit and watch. One quicktime event with a rat gives you one of the funniest death scenes ever. Multiplayer: I have NEVER had THIS MUCH FUN in an Online FPS EVER. This Multiplayer in this game cannot be missed. The game gives you a ton of Variety, From 64 Player Conquest, to 32 player Rush, to 16 Player Deathmatch, This game has something for everyone. The maps all feel different, From Wide Open Deserts and Forests, to tight Subway Tunnels and Alleyways. Rush can give you tons of variety in a single map, for example, Operation Metro starts out in a wide open Park, Long range combat, Counter Sniping, and flanking, Then you drop into a subway, giving great close quarters battles, and really requiring you to push on with your team, to a slightly wider Ticket Area, where you have to flank while teammates lay down Suppression fire, Out into the beautifully designed City, Where pieces of buildings crumble down, Meaning Snipers are not much of a problem if you have explosives. 64 Players is intense. Jets fly above you, Helicopters crash down, Tanks roll across the desert. Rockets and bullets fly all around you. This game cannot be missed when it comes to Multiplayer. Online FPS of the year, without a doubt.

Excellent atmosphere, Flawless soundtrack, and the fact that you discover something new every time you play through again makes this game a worthy contender to Game of The Year. This and Skyrim are going to be neck and neck for GOTY.

SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs

With SOCOM 2, Zipper had a near perfect title, Fantastic Multiplayer, Epic Soundtrack, and Amazing tactical squad based single player. Now, They are planning on re-booting the franchise with SOCOM 4. So what is their definition of reboot? Take out EVERYTHING that made SOCOM 2 good, and then improve the graphics, and while their at it, focus on some motion control fad then the actual gameplay as even more of a slap to the face to SOCOM fans. Squad control interface? Dumbed down to the point where it is as broken and useless as the RPG elements in Mass Effect 2 (Don't get me wrong, Mass Effect 2 was a good game) Smart Squad AI that makes you feel like a leader, rather then a baby-sitter? Gone. Stealth play? Gone. Open environments that give you tactical options that aren't 'Obvious sniper rifle on the high balcony'? Gone. All the characters from the SOCOM Franchise? Gone. Difficulty? Gone. US Navy SEALS? Even THOSE are gone. That's right folks, You don't even play as the US Navy SEALS, You play as 'NATO Special Operations'. The combat is clunky and feels broken, Your squad mates seem more interested running in single-file formation into enemy fire rather than following orders. Did Zipper make this game just to slap SOCOM Fans in the face? Bottom line: Game tries to be just any other shooter, and even fails at that, resulting in a broken mess ****. You would get a better use of your hard-earned money by wiping your ass with a $50 bill.
