Certainly can't agree with the low reviews so far for this season. I thought the first 2 episodes were as charming and as funny as always - in fact I feel like they have lifted their game following a slightly disappointing 5th series. I really hope that they keep this up for the entire 6th season because if they do, it will end up match the quality of seasons 1-4. Loving the Lilly, Cam and Mitchell dynamic as as well.

Dire. There is a air of desperation surrounding Robin Williams these days and I don't like it. This show and the character dynamics feel forced and unnatural.

Oh wow - this is awful. The production values make you feel like you are watching a soap opera. With shows like Southland, Justified and even The Good Wife out there, you have to do a hell of a lot better than this to catch the attention of the modern viewing public. Missing is about as edgy as Murder She Wrote. Dire.

It's so funny to read the negative user reviews for Girls - 'nepotism!' they cry, 'RICH SPOILT WHITE PEOPLE' they screech, 'HBO what have you done - have you gone mad?' they whine. Get a grip. This show is refreshing and brilliant and funny and edgy. Sure - the characters aren't all loveable and perfect all of the time - but then, who is? Anyone comparing this show to Sex & the City is doing it a disservice - in SATC you have 4 one dimensional characters who you never believe could be friends in a real-life situation (they're so different to each other in such obvious ways that they wouldn't last a minute in each other's company), however, in GIRLS, the characters have real and complicated emotions, they are sometimes disloyal, they can be selfish and they make stupid decisions - but they can also be supportive and sweet and the kind of friend you would want to have on your side. All of the naysayers could be male because every female I know absolutely loves this show - perhaps seeing females as normal people who look like they forgot to shave their legs and may not have showered today turns their stomach a bit. If you are a fan of shows like Freaks & Geeks or the 'mumblecore' style of movie making, watch this. If you're not - steer clear or you will be outraged (read the red reviews for a comedic demonstration of utter indignation and unbounded fury).

Started to watch this. Heard the laugh track. Turned it off. I cannot abide watching a comedy and hearing other people laugh at every punch-line - whether it be funny or not. This could be a good show but I guess I'll never know.

I quite liked the first 2 seasons of this show but now it is starting to wear thin. Ellie's meanness used to be amusing but now it just feels nasty and desperate. Jules' quirky sweetness used to be endearing and entertaining but now it just feels forced. On top of this - Christa Miller and Courtney Cox's faces can't make expressions anymore. I find myself facially emoting while I am watching them - like I am subconsciously willing their stone masks into some kind of animation. It was fun for a while but now I'll be moving on.

Loving the new season of The Office. I was concerned that it would suffer without Steve Carell but because the whole cast is so good, they have managed it without him. Andy has a completely different management style - he is a bit goofy but in a different way. He is somehow more lovable than Michael was but there is a touch of the tragic clown with him as well. James Spader's CEO is an excellent addition and he doesn't over-shadow the rest of the cast. Still adore Dwight - in fact, you can't actually fault any of the cast. The writing is still strong, it is still edgy and it's still got me tuning in without fail. Steve who now?

I live in England and am somewhat (okay - completely) obsessed with 'Strictly Come Dancing'. I have never watched 'Dancing with the Stars' but was missing Len and Bruno so thought I'd give it a try. It was okay but it lacks heart I think - it isn't as warm or as funny as the UK version and really, the only people I am interested in watching on it are Ricki Lake, Chaz Bono and David Arquette and as much as I loved all three of them in this - I don't think I will be bothering to sit through everyone else to see them again. So, it's a 6 from me for this one - it had the steps, it had the moves but it felt rushed, as if it were racing towards the end. There was no joy to the proceedings so ultimately - I just didn't FEEL it. Bruno and Len - see you when you get back to the UK.

Okay - perhaps it's a bit early to review this one yet, but my initial feeling after seeing the 1st episode of the 2nd season is a happy one. Downton Abbey does have characters and story-lines and twists that we have all seen before many many times - in books, in films and in television period dramas, but it delivers them to us in such glorious packaging and in such beautiful surroundings that we can kid ourselves that it is all so new and original. Oh - and Maggie Smith is a delight as usual. The 1st episode held my interest, made me laugh, and it brought a tear to the eye. So far, so good. If it turns out bad, I'll come back and edit this - but I am fairly confident that I won't have to.

It is great to see a show where the characters and their situations are believable. These guys are just living normal lives (none of them have a multiple personality disorder and they don't need to smuggle drugs through a tunnel from Mexico to support their families) and facing normal everyday challenges - but the show is never dull. You really care about what happens to them - just as they care about what happens to each other. It is as if the viewer is the 4th person sitting at the cafe table where they meet every day.

I loved the 1st two seasons of this show but now the characters, and Tara's issues, are starting to grate. It's like when you make a new, quirky friend who is loads of fun to be around until, after a while, they start to irritate you with their quirkiness and the things you used to enjoy about them - start making you want to run away.
