Maybe the most fun I've had watching a TV show ever, this show is just a blast from beginning to end. Great writing and comic performances, especially from the two leads Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult. Definitely worth a re-watch.

At least 10% better than the first season, more lively, smoother narrative, both more adventurous and more thoughtful, one of the best shows I've seen in ages.

Time4Pizza you're a moron. Season 3 is flat-out brilliant. Perhaps not as steady and consistent as Season 2, this season has lower lows, admittedly, but also higher highs, and it's all unmissable TV. The entire series is a cumulative masterpiece. It easily enters my list of the 3 best shows of all time, could very well become #1 with time.

At the end of this show my only response was "So what?" Superficially entertaining, but I was hoping that all the dreariness would lead up to something. It doesn't. No insights, nothing to say. An utterly pointless show.

So far so good. I'm enjoying this season more than the first three, perhaps because they've added a healthy sprinkling of wry humour. One flaw of previous seasons has been an overabundance of gloom, making it too leaden at times. This season solves that problem beautifully.

The pilot was great, but the 2nd episode was meh at best and last night's outright **** ass. Too bad, another pilot without an actual series to back it up.

Started out brilliantly, the pilot is one of the best I've ever seen. But each succeeding episode is worse than the one before, a steady decline until I couldn't care less what happens to Elliott. The gap between its promise and where it has devolved to makes it the winner of Most Disappointing Series of this season.

It may be junk, but it doesn't pretend to be anything else and is pretty well-carpentered junk. The annoying, not to mention the ridiculous, moments pass by so quickly, the editing is so punchy, and there is so much going on, that one has to acknowledge that the show has something to offer. I still have reservations about how appropriate it is to have such a light, silly, credibility-free entertainment about domestic terrorism. But for now, I still want to find out what happens next.

Benoist and Flockhart saved the pilot from total banality. Flockhart is genuinely funny, she gets the best lines, seizes them with relish and Benoist is charming and adorable as the lead. Show seems to have a decent sense of humour which leavens the quasi-feminist bluster that I hope won't continue past this pilot. We'll see if it turns into anything or just becomes another bland network time-killer.

Spader is great, but they must be paying him a fortune to get him to act opposite one of the blandest, lamest "actresses" in television history. How she got cast I'll never know. And the rest of the cast is not much better, though to be fair the mediocre writing does them no favours. That the show is doing as well as it is is a testament to Spader's considerable skills and charisma, but it's not enough for me to wade through the rest of the mediocrity.

I can't hack the utterly ridiculous self-righteous and overheated speeches being spouted every five seconds. They are beyond tiresome and my eyes started to hurt from excessive rolling. I think they are going for a comic book, Justice League-with-lawyers-style here, but the lectures are just too long and too frequent. Superheroes take action, they don't sermonize.

Just watched the first 5 episodes in succession, ****. Hurtles forth at breakneck speed barely pausing to draw breath. Who could have foreseen this show would slip into overdrive this late in the game? Fantastic.

To give it the benefit of the doubt I'm guessing the show plans to humanize Marty little by little as it progresses. I hope so, I found the relentless manic cynicism in the first two episodes insufferable and depressing. Is this really the 'Modern World'? Then please shoot me now.
