Battlefield 11
Oct 27, 2016
Battlefield 1 is a brainless, benign, brobdingnagian, bewildering, and bore-some experience. Battlefield 1 may be the biggest game in terms of scope and aspiration but that doesn't mean it's the best. If you think you're having fun you're lying to yourself. I give Battlefield 1 a 1 if only for it's bold and breathtaking graphics, there just should've been more to it aside from that.

Paper Mario: Color Splash10
Oct 10, 2016
Paper Mario Color Splash is the fourth game in the legendary Paper Mario series. And boy (or girl) let me tell you it's the best one yet! The graphics are incredible you really feel like you're looking at actual paper but surprisingly you aren't. During my play through I was practically trying to write on the screen because I actually thought that was real paper. That's not to say though that the graphics are the only good thing about this game, there's also the gameplay. Now you may be saying "dude it's not like Thousand Year door that I played when I was 6 years old, I hate things that are different lmao!!!!". If you're one of those people stick to the decent but ultimately forgotten TTYD. This games battle system is quite possible the greatest in any RPG I've ever played. The Wii U may be winding down a bit but this game makes excellent use of the gamepad. I felt like I was actually throwing cards at the screen at some points. Combine this with the wonderful and often hilarious dialogue and uplifting story you have a great contender for game of the year, maybe even generation. All in all Paper Mario color splash is a crowning achievement in gaming and cinema alike. Absolute kino.

Mafia III0
Oct 10, 2016
A buggy unfinished mess ****. This was quite possibly my most anticipated game of the decade being a big fan of Mafia 2. Unfortunately it lacks the complexity of it's predecessor and ends up feeling like a half baked GTA clone. Remember True Crime: New York City? Well Mafia III is essentially a modern day version of that game. If there's an upside to it being released in 2016 it's that some of the bugs can be fixed with updates, but it shouldn't have to be this way. What ever happened to games being released in a finished state? I personally blame Microsoft and Sony for introducing DLC, making it the norm so to speak. Maybe the reason why so many games feel so shallow these days is that developers think they can "fix" them later. Well you can fix the fps, you can fix a few of the bugs, but there are some things you just can't fix like the industry.

DOOM0
Jun 2, 2016
A pitiful excuse for a DOOM game and a game in general. First off let's talk about the gameplay, your character moves so slow compared to the original even when you "sprint" as they like to call it you move at a maximum of one mile per hour. This is especially bad on the PS4 and Xbone versions since they run at a max of 15fps. You may be saying "I played it bro seems pretty fast to me lmao I don't see the issue just turn your brain off lol". If you're one of those people you're missing the point entirely. DOOM is know for it's fast paced and challenging gameplay which are 2 things this game lacks in a major way. You can beat the campaign in less than an hour if you're even halfway competent thanks to the incredibly OP chainsaw and its weapon drops. I'm on the edge of my seat just thinking about the tensionless "gameplay" in this "game". Did I mention the slapped together multiplayer mode yet? The less said about that the better yowzers. So due to all of that and the fact that when I returned this to gamestop I saw a line of people doing the same this is probably the end of DOOM and hopefully id Software aswell. I can't in good conscience give this more than a 0.

Star Fox Zero10
Jun 2, 2016
A worthy installment in the Star Fox franchise and one of the best games of the year. Miyamoto has truly crafted a flawless game with a unique but intuitive control scheme while at the same time making a breathtaking cinematic experience. You will say woah many a times while playing this game the graphics are astounding and some of the best I've seen on the Wii U and in video games in general even surpassing this years moderate but forgotten hit Uncharted 4. All the original voice actors are back and they give the performance of a lifetime, at times you'll feel like you're actually watching a film. The story is amazing I won't spoil much but the course of the Star Fox universe has been righted with this entry. It will only take a few hours to finish the campaign but you'll be drawn back to it thanks to the amazing control scheme making this the most replayable Star Fox to date. Don't miss out on Star Fox Zero, Sheev out.

Overwatch0

A glib facsimile **** this one of the most over hyped and empty games I've ever played. The gameplay is stale and to be quite honest with you its been done before and way better. The characters are boring and the "story" if you can even call it that is god awful, lets just say if this were a movie it wouldn't be a kino. Tracer is overly sexualized and that triggers me. Overall this is the worst game of the year and it won't be remembered fondly after the initial honeymoon period is over. Combined with how offensive and dull this game is I can't give it any more than a 0.

Lost Reavers10
Jun 2, 2016
Look out Overwatch there's a new multiplayer game in town and it's on the Wii U. Developed by Bandai Namco comes the free to play exclusive multiplayer game Lost Reavers and boy is it good. The object of the game is to collect relics and level up your character. There are 4 distinct and ethnically diverse characters Sayuri, Victoria, Dwayne, and Shadowstalker all with their own play styles and memorable character traits. One thing that surprised me was how uninstrusive the micro transactions are, you really can just earn everything by playing instead of paying and why wouldn't you when the gameplay is so good? The gameplay in this rivals Bayonetta and DMC with its intuitiveness and variety. The only small downside is how slow the leveling up process is but true gamers won't mind the challenge others however will likely give up at the slight hint of a challenge. Overall this is the game of the year and I'm psyched to see what updates they have planned.

Fallout 40
Nov 11, 2015
This "game" is complete garbage. This was my most anticipated game of the year with MGS V being a complete disappointment but little did I know this was going to end up even worse. First off there's the story which I assume a 5 year old wrote because everything line of dialogue seems like it was meant for Fast and the Furious film. You may be saying "Hey dude the story doesn't matter lmao the gaming does bro, as long as it's fun dude I'll be OK with Fallout 4 and chill", from my point of view the game play is awful too. This is probably the most dumbed down version of Fallout that exists, as soon as I booted up the "game" I knew something was wrong when I heard the first line of dialogue, but the more I played the more I was able to truly recognize the awfulness. In my few days of playing I have to say there is nothing even halfway redeeming about this game. This game is proof that "game reviewers" are paid off to give as high of a score as possible, and the worst thing is that people will buy it. People will still buy this "game" and maybe even enjoy it because of how casual and easy it is (the game practically plays itself). I don't want to give too much away but the ending is the worst thing to happen to video games since Mass Effect 3 and I'm not even joking. From a certain point of view this game is a master piece but from my point of view this game is evil, and if you like it then it's treason then.
