Compared to P3R I liked the gameplay loop a lot more and found the story better overall even if the true ending doesn't hit as much. The presentation is really nice as usual, same goes for the soundtrack it is pretty good but my favorites are pretty rare unlike the P3R combat theme song. Sometimes the game is just too scripted and doesn't let you do things, same thing happens during some fights and it can be a little bit frustrating but that's fine. The difficulty is pretty random too. This is still by far the best JRPG I've played and enjoyed every second out of the 130hours I spent
The first half of the game is actually really good, but most of the last part is actually useless, especially the main encounter that feels so forced and doesn't bring much to the game. But just like most of the game it feels forced; especially the politics and relationships all feeling clumsy and not having any depth. No choices really have any impact until the end. That said, I still think the game is fine for the journey and what it tells but it could've been better if some parts were more profound and subtle.
One of the best racing game ever. Everything is just so fun, the open world is the best I've seen, perfectly built to race at insane speeds and do crazy tricks at every moment. The physics are good and the gameplay has a huge skill gap. All that come with an outstanding soundtrack. It was very fun in multiplayer too, with a lot of different events.
I wanted to play Neva and since Gris was really cheap I just decided to give it a try before buying it. I didn't come with much expectations but I almost cried at the end, the art direction is fantastic and the music is truly one of the best from an indie game. I find it a little short even as a Journey fan, I think that it could've been a little bit longer, especially with what the story is truly about. As for the simplicity of the gameplay, I think it suits the game quite nicely but I get that puzzles and platforming isn't for everyone.
Probably the worst Need for Speed to this day, (maybe Undercover from what I've heard but it's the last NFS I haven't done yet). The storyline isn't inherently bad but everything else about the story is. I wouldn't care for it to be cringe because it has kind of always been that way, but the game just capitalized on it with constant phone calls even during races. The game is also holding your hand so much with the racing lines that you shouldn't follow because it's just following an unoptimized path (like it should do like in any decent racing game) and guess what, you can't disable it and it takes a lot of your screen. There's also the AI and police being extremely stupid and slow, except sometimes the rubber banding kicks in during time attack events (why would they even need it on this game mode??). The only difficult thing is the physics, not because it requires any skill, only because you're just understeering and locking wheels 24/7 or it is kind of unpredictable when drifting (that is pretty much the only reliable approach, at least that made the game much more enjoyable for me, thank to the handling settings). The world is just extremely generic, empty and small, with no memorable place. The game being in the night doesn't help too. Nothing really stands out and you kind of don't get to fully appreciate your car customization even because of it, which is sad given that customization is one of the best thing in that game. The car list is also a little bit underwhelming for my taste with like 50cars but mostly duplicates because there's not even half that of brands. The game is also always online which is a shame, the online had potential tho, but when you're a racing game and your physics is bad nothing makes up for it. The graphics on the other hand is good for its time just like most NFS games, but heavily rely on reflections and rain for it to look great. The music is not bad too but I just didn't heard it in races maybe due to the stereo downmix.
Very original, yet very well executed. The memories perfectly transcribed make for an incredible experience. It resonates with your childhood; you feel nostalgic even without being Ecuadorian or a football fan. Soundtrack and visuals are amazing and it blends smoothly
Truly a hidden gem. The progression is flawless despite having more and more in depth mechanics, thanks to the incredible level design. It also looks good with an outstanding art style. Sound design and OST are great and fits the game pretty well but I think it's either hit or miss, I get the artistical choice and respect it tho. Otherwise this game is PERFECT.
The game is very addictive but Tartarus is boring and repetitive. That said persona fusions and every mechanics are really fun once you get the hang of it. The main story lacks some depth sometimes, especially Strega who doesn't bring much to it except for Chidori and Shinjiro. I actually find the social links dialogues have a better writing. Art direction is crazy good and the battle theme is incredible, just like the whole OST.
Highly recommend if you're an Indy fan or you're just curious about the series. Incredibly immersive with amazing graphics, a very well written story and characters plus wonderful VA. I'm not familiar with Indiana Jones but it seems the fidelity to the movies is on point, this could be a great entry point to it. That said, the gameplay can get repetitive, level design is questionable sometimes and AI is dumb like most of the games out here.
It turned out to be one of, if not my favorite game. Its only downside is that sometimes you could theoretically use your power but the game doesn't let you do that, just for the sake of not solving everything with your powers and for the story to be able to happen. Also, your choices doesn't have any impact. Everything else is perfect: the lovable and hateable characters, the intriguing story, surprising plot twists, amazing soundtrack, and awesome art style. This game won't leave you indifferent for better or worse.
Usually not my type of game, but I had a great time and will definitely play Ori and the Will of the Wisps. The art style, music, and story are outstanding. The escape sequences were my favorite parts. Combined with the dynamic gameplay it's very satisfying and rewarding, though occasional misinputs could be frustrating. That said, you're going to die a lot anyway, at least I did on hard difficult.
Similar to Journey, Jusant is an adventure set in an environment full of history. It brings a relaxing atmosphere, soothing soundtrack and engaging gameplay wrapped in a pleasing art style and visuals. While nothing stands out it still does everything very well overall.
If you like demanding combat with a soothing soundtrack and a unique art style, the game in itself could be enough. But Tunic has a lot of secrets and this is where it shines, the real game starts after the credits. So if you're into things like ARGs, go for it and try to get the platinum.
EA ruined this game's potential. The world feels lifeless due to the lack of story and progression, and in many other areas, you can clearly see that the game was rushed. If they had given it more time, it could’ve been one of the best. The graphics, music, open world, and even cop chases are all top-notch. I really recommend playing this game to see for yourself it doesn’t deserve such a low rating.
So immersive, the atmosphere is perfect. Riding a horse has never felt so special, everything feels so big. The emptiness says it all, it makes you wonder why you're doing all that. No UI, no clear storytelling, just a vast empty world; clearly the definition of less is more. The soundtrack makes every moment better. The gameplay can feel boring and repetitive for some, but that could be his only flaw.
More of an emotional journey than a game. So little, yet so intense. It says so much without a single word. There's no traditional storytelling; the environment, music and sound design are all you need. For what it's trying to do Journey does it the best.
This is probably one of the most well-written games ever. Even the side quests maintain this level of quality. The fidelity to the books, the world, the story, and the characters are mind-blowing. I disliked the gameplay, but the immersion with the story, polish dub, music and architecture made up for it.
My favorite game of all time.
One of, if not the most impactful game of all time.
The soundtrack, level design, immersion, gameplay just everything in this game is perfect. I wouldn't change anything, even the frame rate is still not as bad as it sounds.
I remember playing it late, about 15 years ago. I had exchanged Super Mario Sunshine for Ocarina of Time and The Wind Waker (that I almost haven't played because of it). Unironically the best decision of my life.
I’ve never been a fan of turn-based combat or Soulslike games, and yet they somehow made both of those genres better. Turn-based feels more interactive than usual, and the story actually feels engaging. The writing is good, with a great rhythm and a perfect balance between tragedy and light humor. The OST is absolutely stunning, one of those soundtracks people will still be talking about years from now.
The gameplay offers an insane number of possible builds (they don't really matter since the game is too easy and all you have to do is parry), and the visuals are awesome from start to finish. At that price, what you get is simply impressive. Even more so when you realize it was made by a junior team of just 30 people, most of them working on their very first game.
