This game is fun and yet difficult. Simply put, it's difficult to not only keep up with the growing learning curve of the paperwork you have to go through, but also the growing doubt on who you should let through and who you should send to see the nice guards with the guns.
This is another amazing game in the growing line of Choice of Games text-based titles. The story, while seeming to be simple, is a complex and multi-layered path to several different endings. You, as the protagonist, give the gift of life to an AI robotic unit. It's up to you to decide if the little (or not so little!) droid will grow on its own in a world of peace-loving automatons or become the instrument of destruction for the US/China in a war that's been brewing for years. Or just use it as your tool for domination of the planet. With many little references and funny jabs at not only themselves but also current pop culture, Choice of Robots is a great game to show your friends to introduce them to the text-based game genre, and hopefully bring you all together to create your very own dream robot.
As a Historian and a gamer, I have to recommend this game to all who will play. There is a huge learning curve for anyone just joining the game. I know I suffered through a lot of rage quits just because the game didn't explain something that well in the beginning tutorial, but after I slogged through a bit more of the tutorial and eventually the game itself, it became one of my top favorites to play. I mean, who could say they wouldn't want to mess with history by having the Irish take over the world!
This game is a prime example of good writing for a great story. It's a rather short game when it's all put together, but with the many choices that can be made along the road to becoming a hero or a villain, it becomes an Epic Adventure for anybody reading. No music, no graphics, just your imagination.
This game plays more like the comics than the movie, which is a good thing in this case. It's dark, it's gritty, and you definitely see the outcomes of your choices stretch out to the other episodes. It's not just a game for those who really like the series or zombie-style games; it can also be loved by those who like to take a more personal command of the game. A must have for sure!
I started playing this game on my PC back in '08. I was never really that good at it, though, because the game graphics kept on annoying me. Well, I just got it here on Steam, and I can now say that I love playing on here! I have a Mac, and this game actually works better on it than it ever did on the PC! A rich and detailed game that stands the test of time. Sure, it shows its age with eh graphics, but really, who plays a Star Wars game for that? In the end, the story is what matters, and boy, it's a doozy! You find yourself about to crash land on a planet after being attacked by the Sith, with no knowledge of what you could (and will) become later in the game. It's a fluid story that shows its true colors by how it's affected the Star Wars community as a whole, really, with the introduction of Darth Reven and Darth Malek. It's an oldy but a goodie in my book, so really no reason not to try it out!
I have to say that I felt absolutely moved by this game. I went in fully expecting some kind of Romance game with a funny twist here and there, and I came out beaten and broken but feeling like I could take on the world. And I don't just mean from the point of view of somebody who's won a game... no, I mean the lessons that come from this game, the way that sometimes even the bad endings make you feel like you've won something great for this guy just makes me proud to say that I love this game. Please, please, please show your support for this emotionally driven work of art!
This is such a fun and amazing point-and-click game that I highly recommend it! It's such a fantastic visual story that just having one of your two main characters standing in a room tells you a story! The VA work is also fantastic, with fun star surprises from folks throughout. My only gripe is just how short the whole thing is. I understand that the game was supposed to be longer with more details past the current ending, and it does the show. That being said, I still say it was worth the money for it and the time spent on it. Hopefully, one day, another game like this or a sequel/spiritual sequel to this will come about. Till then, I'll be happy to replay this game over and over for the quirky friends you make along this beautiful storybook game.
Major props for the idea of using the world as a way to help you create the platformers you need to get you from one side of the map to the other, to an amazing soundtrack! But even after such an amazing platforming adventure, I'd say I'm spent on it. I'm not an achievement hunter, and I don't care to play all the minigames since they are all hidden in the game, so I've basically done all I can with it. Was it worth the buy? Yes, I'd say it was. Would I play again? Maybe in a few years, when I get the feeling to play something older, but considering this game was already old when I got it, I'd say this one is a One & Done.
A fun dungeon-building game with a lot of puns and humor provided by the narrator to your story. 100% recommend if you enjoy campy humor, dungeon planning, or fun ways to find out that it's midnight without realizing it sooner.
How can I not recommend this game? The story is fantastic, the acting is on point, and the whole experience is exactly what you want in an RPG. Don't wait to get this!
Let me be clear, I am in no way "good" at this game. So why do I play? Because I can keep trying and trying again and exploring fun new ways to play. Sure, I ****, but I love playing out my ideas of races and stories anyway!
Honestly was pretty board. The game itself was kind of too much, compared to Rome, and the mechanics just were made worse by how small all of the words were, and I'm on a laptop. I enjoyed Total War: Rome and will move back to that.
Loads of fun to play with friends and a nice, quiet game if you play by yourself. Easy to understand, but better to look up tips and tricks on YouTube.
This is one of the greatest Choose Your Own Adventure stories I've played from Choice of Games. There is almost no way of playing the same game twice if you are not actively thinking about which choice is which for this one. It's fun, and the story and characters are very well thought out. I love reading this one!!
I can't believe I was sleeping on this game, so so worth it to play. I do play on the Keyboard instead of the recommended controller, but I find it just as simple to use, honestly.
I was finally able to play this game after waiting years to get a new computer. I helped this game get Kickstarted and was not disappointed. It's simple to understand a lot of the game and easy to play overall. My only gripe is probably the way the UI looks. It's a bit small for me.
I've always loved building my dream houses and imagining my little family's stories in the past games; this one is no different. If you have played and loved The Sims in any capacity before, you will love this game now
Overall, the game is pretty to look at, the light story is nice, and the VA work was nice too, but the controls for moving around in space to just driving (flying? piloting?) the truck were not something I could get a good grasp of. This game was recommended by a friend, but I think it's just not for me. I would recommend this game to folks who love driving games, hauling games, and a chill experience, or folks who want to explore a side of space that isn't "normal". The controls are very touchy; one tap and your hauler will go forward and make you remember Newton's laws!
I didn't have the chance to play this till recently, but this is such a great game! The story is so so rich that I really want to explore every side of it. My only complaint is that the cars drive like tanks. Find a bike and stick with it, that's my rule so far.
I was worried that I wouldn't find this as fun since I had not played the first State of Decay game. However, it's really scratching my itch for base building and management! My only complaint so far is that switching between survivors is just kinda clunky.
Return to Moria fills me with such joy as a LoTR fan and a building/crafting fan. Please, if you are on the fence, at least try it on your own. I also went to the Discord to find new friends to play with, and am now doing awesome runs through the game and building great wonders as I go in a community that is always challenging itself!
Just very dull, so much doesn't make sense, like how to build, what to do, and why this world is even as nuts as it is. I may not have played long, but I should at least have been able to tell you the story for this game from the first few minutes, right?
A great way of using the phone's camera to tell the story of you, the main character, and how your life was a life well lived. A story that is equal parts Heartwarming as it is heart-wrenching. If you have Netflix, you get this game for free, so if would highly suggest giving it a go. It is about an hour and a half long, but still a great story and experience told through a great palette of art and eyesight.
A wonderful mix of Animal Crossing and **** Valley, if you like those kinds of games (or those games in particular, you will fall in love with Locomoto. Experience a lo-fi soundtrack as you work to build up your happy little train and bring together a community of folks just looking to enjoy their lives in the easiest way possible.
It's cute, it's funny, and the VA work from everybody involved is spot on! The story is pretty simple, but it's for sure funny to have to try and make friends with the Fridge, haze the water heater, or fall in love with the floor!
Honestly surprised how much fun I had with this game. It's simple and yet so easy to mess up, something as making sure you have the right supplies. Much more fun with friends, but the single player mode is a great challenge too.
The campaign is really just a long tutorial on how to play the game, but the stories it tells are really engaging. The controls are easy to use, and the challenges are fun to play. While I’ve not gone into too much detail in the campaign, just to contribute to the story (As in I'm not doing a completionist run for each trophy), it’s still well worth it. My only complaint is how I wish the story had more impact on the multiplayer past skins for the weapons.
Boy, what a ride this was. I 100% recommend the game for its story and unique play. The music and story work so well together that I honestly would say it gave me film-quality vibes. My only complaint is that the VA work on some characters was a little off, but that’s a very small thing for me, and the game is more worth your time past that. Not much in the form of replayability if you don’t care for collectibles. Still, there was never a dull moment!
I had seen Jacksepticeye play this game a while back, but figured that, since it was on sale on Steam, I'd give it a shot. Honestly, very relaxing to just go fishing, and the story itself is really fun to go through. Would recommend for cosmic horror or fishing fans.
This is such a great successor to the game franchise, and I’m so so glad it’s now available outside of the Apple Arcade. Like its predecessors, you take your party from the beginning to the end of the trail to reach Oregon. Along the way, you will find a cast of characters, their stories, and interactions coloring your own. Help or hinder, they will leave an impression on you for sure. My only complaint is that the game won’t let you stack supplies if you get the same supplies in two separate ways.
