The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy10
Apr 26, 2025
Story-driven tactical RPG with insane levels of detail and planning. If you're playing it for the first time and feel like you're being railroaded through the story, just wait.

Stardew Valley10

A spiritual successor to Harvest Moon that manages to surpass it. I was hesitant at first but it's truly an amazing game. It could only be improved with better character art.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses10
Jan 29, 2023
A true return to form for the franchise. The gameplay is standard FE fare but where the game really shines is in capturing the magic of the pre-Awakening game by being ambitious in its story and characters and taking its premise seriously, rather than descending into the campiness of the 3DS era.

Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest8

The most solid gameplay experience in the series outside of Thracia. Unfortunately it suffers from an irritating cast and downright bizarre story.

Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright6

It's slightly below average. That's all you can really say about it. If you want gameplay, play Conquest instead. If you want a good Fire Emblem game, play almost anything else.

Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation0

Fails as a game. Fails as a story. It's probably the worst FE experience in the franchise. The gameplay, cast and story are all pathetic. I have no idea what the critics saw in this one. Then again, user reviews are usually more accurate.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia9

A beautiful and spellbinding experience that only really suffers from a failure to update old maps from the NES era.

Fire Emblem: Awakening8

In retrospect it was very overrated but it's still an excellent entry point into the series.

Fire Emblem Warriors0
Jan 29, 2023
Disappointing game that advertises itself as a crossover and celebration of the series but is actually neither, a completely hollow experience. Either make an actual crossover representing every game, or follow the Three Hopes route and made a dedicated alternate universe spin-off for one game. The path Warriors chooses is the most pathetic option, pretending to be a crossover but showing favouritism to what were the newest games at the time.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes10

It's a musou game. It's a 3H spin-off. It tells you what it is and if you like both of those things you'll love it. As an aside, Shez is probably the best avatar character an FE game has ever seen. Intensely likeable and radiates charm.

Fire Emblem Engage3

People are overhyping the gameplay. It doesn't **** but it's nowhere near good enough to make up for how bad the story, characters, music, worldbuilding and dialogue are. Also it has a major flaw in that the units are badly balanced and tend to be either amazing or immediately benched, if you get any satisfaction from raising your units up this is not the Fire Emblem game for you. It's just a thoroughly boring experience that tries to posit itself as the new mainline entry whilst giving you nothing but shallow garbage and leaning on nostalgia for older, better games as a crutch. They should take the Break mechanic and put it into a real FE game, because this half-assed garbage is going to be forgotten in a month. Engage is going the same way as Fates where people are blinded during the honeymoon period and then realise shortly afterwards that the game was thoroughly disappointing. Intelligent System seriously need to get their act together and show that 3H wasn't an outlier and that they can make Fire Emblem games that take themselves seriously and stand on their own merits rather than leaning on self-references and parodying itself. You're better off buying Conquest, 3H, the GBA era or the Tellius games. The one thing Engage does right is shoving old characters in your face and reminding you that there are better Fire Emblem games you could be playing.
