Ironically this is a really a celebration of Hollywood narcissism featuring George Clooney as a modern day Cary Grant in search of a soul he never had. It's comedy that is not funny and a drama with all the schmaltz of a Hallmark Christmas movie. Clooney and Adam Sandler will get Oscar nominations and maybe even win, cementing this movie's reputation as a wink-and-nod love letter to the fantasy that most ambitious people in show business are kind, ethical and down-to-earth..
