A true return to form for the red coated half demon! I loved almost everything about this game. This game was so close to beating DMC3 S.E in my mind for best DMC game. The only problem is 1/3rd of the game is marred by this one. annoying. fragile. man. I absolutely hated playing as V. It was so boring I would actually fall sleep or I would have hand pain from mashing the attack buttons over, & over, & over, & over, again until the enemy eventually died. Nero & Dante were an absolute blast to play with. Both unique & complex. V was just mash both attack buttons until they die. Also jump out of the way sometimes. Completely boring & killed the flow of the game. I was planning on playing this game over & over again until I got to the hardest difficulty. I was planning on maxing my characters out. That was until I played as V & realized I would have to play 1/3rd of the game over & over again as that boring character. 2/3rd of this game is a 10 out of 10. It's just too bad that it's ruined by V. I honestly celebrate when he would go away or I would get to play as a different character. This game was absolutely perfect. If you could just pick who you want to play as for each mission, I wouldn't knock it a point. But the fact that you're forced to play as boring emo guy just kills a portion of the experience for me. I loved everything else this game was. The music, the style, the characters, the grandness of the way things are presented. 2/3rd's of a masterpiece.

This game hit me at the right time in my teenage years. Being 15, hormonal & wanting to see cool dudes swinging around swords and fighting demons! The special edition with Virgil as a playable character was just mindblowing and awesome to me! I must have played through this game a dozen times. The gameplay is fantastic, the level design is amazing, the characters are cool, the music is astonishing! This game was so cool me me. Story was very interesting. I actually played DMC3 first, then played 1 & 2. DMC3 was always a better game, with a better version of Dante. Plus the ending made more sense than the ending to DMC2. That ending was dumb. Anyways, I strongly recommend anyone buy this game. If you do get it, you must get the special edition. That way you can play as Virgil. 10 out of 10 for me. Skip DMC4 & the reboot DMC from the early 2010's. DMC4 was a letdown & DMC reboot was trash!

Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories

A game I've spent literally hundreds of hours playing. Fighting the Meadow sage's underling 500 times so I could grind up the rarer cards from him like Skull servant & Dark Magician. Eventually realizing I can cheese the game with the power of 3 memory cards & duplicating my saves, then trading over my best stuff to my main save. I guess that's why they call it "forbidden memories." Graphics were fantastic when you consider the time. Think about this. They had thousands of monsters in the game. All animated with multiple attack animations. A game programmed & developed between 1997-1999 had more detailed animations for their sprites than a Pokemon game made in modern times. A Yu-Gi-Oh game that was probably made on a shoe string budget had more effort put in making a game with real animations than some multi-billion dollar company does now. Just let that sink in! Game is nothing like the real Yu-Gi-Oh game. Imagine my surprise as a 11 year old boy in 2002 walking into Ridgemar mall for the Yu-Gi-Oh tournament, only to find that I have absolutely no clue how to play the real game. Let me tell you, that was quite the embarrassing experience! Overall, I give the game a 10 if you want a fun game that isn't anything like Yu-Gi-Oh but shares the images of what Yu-Gi-Oh is. I would not recommend the game if you're expecting a game like the old GBA games or the game that's out on the switch now. Still gets a 10 from me!

This was a fantastic game. It was such a unique game for me to play back when I went to my friends house & played it. You're thrown into something that is akin to a old Japanese samurai story from back in the day. A lone wanderer that is thrust in the middle of feuding clans. All while the government is trying to end the era of the samurai. You can choose your side, or chose to avoid the entire conflict. I'd never played a game that gives you such options back then. Plus the gameplay was A+ stuff. It was so fun learning the sword techniques & learning how to best combat each style. Characters were very cool & interesting as well! If you're into old Japanese movies, then you will love playing this. It has very solid replay value, multiple ending & offers a wide variety of ways to go about finding those endings. I give this game a 10 & the highest recommendation for those that love a good samurai story.

I honestly can't be mad at the critics reviews of this game. As for myself, I love this game. Both Digimon World 1 & 3 are fantastic games in my mind because neither of them hold your hand. They expect you to pay attention & also not be afraid to just guess your way through certain aspects of the game. DW3 straight up becomes murder mode later in the game. I love the challenge & ambiguous nature of these games. I can also see why people would dislike the game. It has a decent amount of backtracking, just so you can talk to one character on the other side of the map. For myself though, I enjoy that aspect of the game. It's a nostalgia trip, while I'm sure the critics whom played this back in 2002 just found it to be a knuckle dragging experience. As a 11 year old boy, I didn't know any better so this was a blast to grind through!

I've played DDCB since my parents rented it for me at Blockbuster back in 2002. This is an excellent game that I think some people overlook. The rock, paper, scissors like battle system is something that has a good amount of complexity when you take abilities & in-hand card effects into consideration. I come back to this game pretty much once every year to re-enjoy the gameplay. I also have the OST downloaded on my phone & listen to it at least once a day. Nobody can tell me that Battle Cafe Phase - 1 isn't a straight up feel good song to just put on to raise your mood!
