AI: The Somnium Files8
Sep 27, 2019
The game is pretty fun, but sometimes can be really inconsistent with it's themes. You get a heartbreaking story just to be interrupted by a tasteless sexual joke. The shooting sequences are pure **** where a school girl with a pipe goes head on in a fight with an army of armed mercenaries. If you can ignore these flaws, the game is quite enjoyable.

Darksiders III5

Specs of greatness buried under a load of technical issues. Don't buy this. It was clearly not ready for release and even after the patches, is still drops frames constantly, even during boss battles it drops to single digits. The game also has a hard time keeping to 1080p resolution and it downscales to 720p. Both of these are game breaking as you need to actually see to dodge anything. And there are the checkpoints and the loading screens. Every time you die on a boss, you get a loading screen that lasts up to a minute. Then you need to run to boss, that's another minute. And while you're running, you get ANOTHER loading screen or two, because the game has trouble of rendering the world. I also had to redo a boss that I already beat, just because the game didn't save before closing it, even if I was in front of the bloody checkpoint. All in all, I'd like to see more Darksiders, but not like this. Boss fights were entertaining, but the technical issues are so many the overall experience is really disappointing.

This game isn't perfect, but it gets pretty damn close to it. The story is unique, the graphics are gorgeous and each place you visit is amazing. The characters are well fleshed and quite likable. The whole game is packed with feels ranging from disgust and sorrow to happiness and serenity. My only complain here is that the combat was a bit clunky but you don't have to do a lot of it anyway. Most of the time you'll spend sneaking around. Another thing worth mentioning is that this is 45 bucks on Steam. It is a bit pricey, but I believe this is very strong contender for game of the year.

Malicious Rebirth8

Malicious Rebirth has it flaws, but even so, it's well worth the 10$/13 euro you're going to pay for it. The graphics looks sweet on the Vita, the music is good. The gameplay consists from a set of boss battles, that you can take in any order you want. Each boss gives you different new power or/and improves an existing one. You're also challanged by the time limit of 30 minutes for each battle and the finite continues for all(3-9, depends on your choice). Most of the quality story is presented as a short book, that you can read through the main menu, but even so, it's the weakest point of the game. Malicious Rebirth is another good game for the Vita, but sadly, not a masterpiece.

I rarely write reviews, but when I do, it's because the score does not match the content of the game. 4.8 user score is just too low for this game and I believe it is just fan boys hating the new look of the game. Even if the game have flaws, like the common story and easy bosses (at least on lower difficulties), the game has an awesome level design, soundtrack that matches the action perfectly and a battle system, that surpasses any of the previous ones and it is a blast to experiment with. I'd have given it 9/10, but I'm giving it 10 to compensate for the haters. If you're and action game fan, get it!
