Duke Nukem Forever6
Mar 18, 2012
So long waited and many times delayed sequel of the Duke Nukem's game is out here now. It's not perfect, but at least it got something that other game don't have - an unique character, a **** hero. An atmosphere is done well, you actually can feel yourself as "god" for every men and women in the city and of course for your lovely girls. A game begins with invasion of aliens and retired Duke have to safe the world again. Story itself is good for a shooter, but it won't give you something deep. The graphics are average for todays games, you won't get displeased by it. Weapon choice is not big, but is enough to rip your enemy, also you can fight with your fists. There are some usable items like a beer, drugs that give you bonus to attack and etc. In some levels of the game you will have to get shrunk with help of shrunk machine and then overcome puzzles and obstacles to move forward on the game. It's fun to be shrunk, you can see all the items from different angle, which you wouldn't ever see, also the Duke's voice "shrunk" too. Driving a jeep is horrible, even if it gives a different gameplay, it's not worth it. The huge hog bosses are cool, that's what you hope to see in every game. But if want something more from this game, but it won't give you nothing more. The hard work not always provide a big success, that's what can be said about this game. Of course if you played old games of Duke Nukem's, don't miss this out too.

The first half of the game will surely disappoint you with boring and simple missions, you will merely shoot few enemies and move forward. It is that bad, because shooting is worst part of this game, you move your rifle as slow as turret, even making a sensitivity higher won't help out. Apart of that drawback a game has it's rebellion atmosphere, you will actually feel as rebellion who fights enemy army, which occupies your country. So the story is proper, but that is not enough to be a good game, especially a shooter with bad shooting gameplay. Though there is a good variety of weapons, no knife, but rpg and sniper rifle, which you will use depending on mission's objective. Also the heavy fire will do your rebelion mate's constructed light tank Goliath and you will have a remote control to target enemy to eliminate them. It could be more fun, if you would get a full driving control of it, but anyway it's ok. Later on you will even fly a helicopter, easy to control it and of course fun to destroy enemy humvees and tanks. That's all presents only in a few last chapters, where you will get a plenty of fights, otherwise it would be a plain game. Graphics and sounds are the pros of this game, which highs up a rating of it a bit. I hope developers of Homefront will learn from they mistakes and bring a better game next time. I'll give it 6 of 10 only because of the last chapters.

The Darkness II10
Feb 12, 2012
The Darkness II is like a good polished diamond. It has a great story with psycho elements, you can get confused easily. Gameplay is excellent, no complains here. You can tear enemy with your demonic arms, kill them with a gun, throw a bucket or metal strips to them, also later you can get more abilities, like use swarm of insects, use energy instead of bullets or drop vortex that will **** all around it. But that's not it, you can grab enemy to perform one of four finishing moves, which will grant you different bonus, like health, ammo, shield or faster restore your abilities. It's a nice bloodbath with good variety of gameplay. But I didn't liked the autoaim function, which works even on hardest difficulty and can't be turned off. It helps you when you use a controller, but otherwise it is a nuisance. Slow motion headshot are pretty damn cool, you get the time to looks around for the next enemy. Sounds are done nicely, not like in other games, where if you stand far from talking person you barely hear him. Also killing squishy sounds are cool and of course you will like the "darkness" voice, I can hear it even now! Through the game a darkling demon will help you in some situations, you can even get control of it in some parts of the game. It's about 5-6 hours of gameplay that won't leave you disappointed, the ending will make you excited. One con I found in this game is that there are too many names starting letter J - Jenny, Johny, Jimmy, Jackie, it's annoying. But anyway a game is worth of your time and money.

Shank 27
Feb 9, 2012
I didn't played the first Shank game, so I don't know in which ways the sequel differs. A trailer shows us a bloodbath action gameplay and everything seems so awesome, but after you play a few chapters it becomes a very boring, repetitive game. There is small variety of weapons, only three in each category, but the good thing is that every weapon has it's unique combination of hits and finishing moves, so you can choose what you like the most. As for enemies, there are few kinds, they use melee and ranged weapons, also there are "gorillas" - that's how I call these big guys, which are harder to kill. In some point you will have to use a minigun turret to kill incoming enemy and some other things to do, which I don't want to spoil. And the gameplay is based on the story, so it's not just a hit'n'smash game. Graphics are really nice, especially when you slice enemy with chainsaw or do counter-attack. But there is one problem with mouse cursor, somehow it won't disappear to some players and is visible in game, so I think there will be a patch to fix this. Despite that, it's not that bad game, which have a big potential, but in current time it lacks variety of gameplay and length of it. But worth the time to play it.

Choplifter HD6

This game gives you an opportunity to control a helicopter and complete different missions - rescue people, destroy some objects and escape. The graphics are not that nice, even thought the name says - HD. Enemy, buildings and all other background could be more detailed or it's even could be used other art style, which is simpler but pleasant to the eye. First half of the game was kinda boring, because there were a small number of enemy, so missions were easy. But then new enemy appears - jets, tanks, mortars, which brings a difficulty to the game. After completing each missions you get stars 1 to 5 and it's important to get more of them to unlock a better helicopters. Some of the missions could seem too hard, but after giving a few tries you will find a way how to beat them fast and safe. Also there are few zombie missions, where you have to safe people from zombie's attacks and if you land too close to ground, they can jump up to your helicopter and you will need to shake them out. The game lacks of ammunition upgrades, where you could choose what weapons to use. In start of each mission the pilots make some jokes out so it doesn't seem that you control a empty helicopter, also in one mission there a Duke Nukem character (real Duke Nukem's voice actor), which you can try to shoot and it will say some phrase. If you like a side-scrolling arcade games and see this game on a sales, try it out, if you are not a fan, then avoid this game, because it will not satisfy your needs.

At first I underrated this game, but after completing few races, I raised a score a bit. There is no story at all, but for a short arcade game it's not a necessary. I'll start with introduction of game - it's not like the most games, where you need to drive accurate and avoid objects, but here you get points from smashing road signs, which are used to unleash nitrous. There are several tracks and in different challenges the paths changes a bit. Also there are few modes in game, like last man standing and similar. Of course the most important part of the game are cars, which divides into three classes - muscle, street, race, and 5-6 cars in each class. You can use any car in each challenge, but you have to unlock them before. Each car has color themes witch gives different bonuses, point boost from drifting and etc. It gives a game a bit of life, because there no other upgrades or tuning for cars. Graphics are average, not edgy. Gameplay is very repetitive and opponents are easy. The most annoying thing in it was that you have to use nitro almost all the time you drive, so screen is shacking like crazy, it hurts my eyes. Apart of that it is a good arcade game. The price meets the quality, so if you feel an urge to drive cheap, buy it.

A good platformer game with some fairy tail story and three characters, unique in each way. The most time you will spend solving average difficulty puzzles and the hard ones which will drive you mad, because a game physics are frustrating sometimes, so you make a mistakes. The biggest disappointing of characters skills, was that archer couldn't shoot in the air, so combat was less entertaining for me. The mage's problem was when you pull up box or a cage, it was keep spinning, so it was hard to manipulate object the way you want. Controls are very unresponsive, which is a very big problem for a game, where you have to jump a lot. Also there are skill system, where you can upgrade your characters abilities and after that solve puzzles easier. But these annoying skeletons!!! They spawned in a small number and were easy to kill, but it was annoying to wait till they all spawn, one after you kill one, - that's a biggest fail in the game. Music and game theme, atmosphere were ok. Graphics very average. The game could be better, if not all these fails in it.
