Half-Life 2: Episode Two9
Mar 12, 2014
I think the first two chapters are a little bit worse than the rest, because it has little variety in environment and enemies. I also thought that the last big combine attack would be more spectacular. Everything else is excellent (story, characters, enemies, weapons, ...)!

Minecraft8

Minecraft is THE open world game! It promotes your creative side. But it gets booring after awhile and the enemies are irritating (fortunately you can switch off all enemies, if you want). Dying is also annoying...

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Retribution7
Mar 5, 2014
You still can't build "normal" buildings in this version and the campaign and the normal battles aren't much better, but six civilizations are playable (fortunately as well the Imperial Army and the Chaos Space Marines) and there's a "last resistance", which I really like to play (unfortunately there are only two maps for it).

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II5
Mar 5, 2014
I think it's a joke, that you can't build "normal" buildings like in the first Dawn of War. This means the campaign and the normal battles aren't really interesting. I don't like that the Imperial Army and the Chaos Space Marines aren't playable in this version.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Winter Assault7
Mar 5, 2014
The Imperial Army is for me a nice friend and enemy. It's large, has good tanks, rocket launcher etc. and the soldiers are humans, who try to fight against demons, "gods" etc.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War6
Mar 5, 2014
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War is a good strategy game, but you can't choose many civilizations and I miss the Imperial Army - my favourite civilization.

Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties7
Mar 5, 2014
Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties adds three Asian civilizations to the game and a campaign with them. With the adds of Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs, this game is better than the original and the first expansion game.

Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs6
Mar 5, 2014
Age of Empires III: The WarChiefs has one important thing to add in the series: The American Indians as a whole civilization and a campaign with them. But my problems with the game doesn't really change (see my "Age of Empires III - Review").

Age of Empires III6
Mar 5, 2014
This is a good strategy game, but I have some problems with it: The online deathmatch is full of experts with level 100 and above, who are not kind to "noobs" (they judge you by the level you received (with one civilization of course)). The games can last a long time and after awhile it gets a bit booring. Nevertheless is Age of Empires III a good game to play with your friends and the campaign is also good.

Rayman Raving Rabbids6
Mar 5, 2014
When I watched the trailer, it looked like an epic Rayman adventure (like the first games), but instead we have some mini games with funny rabbids and that's it. I have to admit that I enjoy these games, but it can't compete with the games before, because they have so much more to offer!

Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc9
Mar 1, 2014
The gameplay is various and it has many funny and interesting scenes. The characters are good and I'm glad they can speak normal (in contrast to Rayman 2). You can unlock mini games and videos by collecting points, which is truly effectively.

InFlux8
Mar 1, 2014
InFlux has two main parts: In one part you can discover a beautiful island and in the other you can solve puzzles, which are not difficult and yet effectively used in the game. We don't know exactly what our ball is or from where he comes from, but it's not important at all. I think this game is too short, but somehow also too long for some discoveries. I don't know what the critics are talking about. Maybe they overlooked the best thing about this game: The fantastic atmosphere!

Rayman 2: The Great Escape8
Mar 1, 2014
Rayman 2 has a dark atmosphere (too dark for little kids if you ask me) and still a fairy and some minor stereotype scenes. The characters are good, but I don't know why they can't speak normal. But these are relatively insignificant picks and generally I enjoy this game!

The Operative: No One Lives Forever8
Mar 1, 2014
This game has many different environments and cool spy devices to offer. It also has crazy bosses and some (bad) surprises. The multiplayer mode is funny. But I have to problems with it: The enemies aren't really various and the dialogs are a bit too long.

Beyond Good & Evil9

This game has a fantastic story, great characters and mean enemies! I like how you can get money and pearls (with interesting "quests"). I can replay it after a long time without getting bored.

Black Mesa10
Mar 1, 2014
This is one of the largest and best mods ever made! It was in development for 8 years and it was really worth the wait. Some of the "worst" parts of Half-Life are deleted and some parts are even more impressive now, which makes Black Mesa an even better game than the original one! It can't of course revolutionize the FPS and the graphics are not top notch for today's standards, but for a mod it's a masterpiece for sure. Now we have to wait a bit for xen...

Portal 29
Mar 1, 2014
Portal 2 is a lot larger than the first one. It also has a Coop mode (no challenge mode) and the puzzles are harder than in Portal. I really like how the characters change, but the atmosphere is worse than in the first game.

Portal9
Mar 1, 2014
Portal is for me the best puzzle game I've ever played! The atmosphere is really great and if you play it the first time, it's interesting to find out who the voice really is, what she exactly wants and how she looks like. My only issue is the short gameplay.

Half-Life 2: Episode One9

Episode One is for me as good as Half-Life 2! And Alyx is a nice character (imagine Episode One and Two without Alyx!). My only issue is the short gameplay.

Half-Life 210
Mar 1, 2014
This game is just wonderful. It has a great story, great atmosphere and most of all characters which you won't forget quickly. I think it's more an adventure FPS, where you can discover a world with interesting enemies and places (even if it's linear). The physics engine and graphics are also revolutionary and changed the FPS! PS: Do yourself a favour and DON'T DOWNLOAD THE CINEMATIC MOD! It destroys the atmosphere, characters and gameplay of Half-Life 2!

Half-Life: Blue Shift7

I think this is the worst Half-Life game. It's very short and the environment has not much to offer (for example a long hallway with little variety). Nevertheless it's somehow a good game for me.

Half-Life: Opposing Force8
Mar 1, 2014
I think the Half-Life games from Valve are really better than from Gearbox. Opposing Force has for me less remarkable scenes and less variety. It just can't compete against the original. Nevertheless it's a great game!

Half-Life10
Mar 1, 2014
One day I was bored and thought I should play this game. It was so phenomenal I'm a fan now! I think the best thing about it is the storytelling: You can experience the world of half-life without a cut scene and your character doesn't speak which means you can make your own thoughts. The atmosphere is also very well done and the multiplayer mode has a lot to offer. This game was also revolutionary for the FPS!
