The game that in my opinion, defines the asymmetrical horror survival genre hits all the good spooky points, but becomes a grindy mess the longer you play and enjoy the game. When starting with a new character, you are fairly weak and need more perks, but once you level up far enough, you are given the option to prestige and start over again for several prestiges. But the amount you need to advance and the time it takes becomes extremely grindy. You want to do better, so you'll play until you can get the perks you want, but then hit a point where you'd be looking to play as different killers and then you're hit with the microtransactions. There are some paid characters that are so much more powerful or sneaky that you feel you should purchase them, but are then disappointed by the learning curve associated with playing them. Additionally, the game is very addictive, but such a time sink. Occasionally the developers will make changes to the balance of play that will favor either the survivors or killers, and it is a constant battle to optimize the characters you play to maximize your chances of playing. They just can't seem to get true balance achieved. Pros: Fun gameplay Hits all the spooky feelings (especially if playing in the dark with headphones) Good replayability Cons: Poor balance and always shifting depending on the developers updates Pay to win microtransactions Very grindy

I got this game free as a PS Plus member and was thoroughly entertained whole I had it installed. The mechanics are good in my opinion, and the swimming seemed very natural as opposed to many other games where the swimming doesn't seem as thought out. During my playthrough, I didn't have to use any guides as the game is very self-explanatory and I was able to enjoy it more because of that. Once you reach level 30 though, your main goal is simply to advance the story, collect all the variations of the shark, and trophy hunt. Speaking of the trophy hunting, this was one of the easier Platinum trophies I had achieved as the majority of achievements are completed to advance the game anyway. The reasons I'm not giving this a higher rating are that once the game is completed and a Platinum trophy is easily achieved, there is very little replayability. You can of course go around as a shark eating all the humans, but it gets very repetitive after a short time and doesn't create the sense of desire to start again from scratch like classic games. The short nature of this game makes it feel like a visually and mechanically remaster of a PS2 era game, which isn't bad, but with the amount of potential this has and the current era of gaming we are in, it seems like it was pushed out. If DLC does get released, I will most definitely purchase, especially because I got this game for free.

While this game is fun for the first few matches you play online, it quickly grows old. It isn't a game I could personally binge play, but I can load it up and play a round or two and then put it down. The characters all seem super generic, like that are purposefully trying to make each character unique like a United colors of Bennington ad and have them all be quirky, but it comes off mostly as cheesy instead. At the time of writing this, there doesn't seem to be enough vehicle or character customizations. But based on the payment structure of the cosmetics, it seems somewhat lazy on Sony's end to have this as a PS Plus game for Feb 21 since this game is most likely going to be a free to play game in the near future. I feel that the courses give too much freedom of movement in such a large area. There have been times I am driving around for an entire minute and not hitting anyone. I think if they were to adopt more of a structured Roller Derby style track and you drove along that, it would be a little more interesting. I think this game needed more feedback from testers before being released because it just seems repetitive, generic, and overall monotonous. I feel I will revisit this game in a year or so as with many improvements, it could easily become an esport with the proper changes.

Very interesting take on the battle Royale genre. I feel this game is a wick pick up and play game but that the courses can get a bit old quickly. Having procedurally generated courses could improve this game greatly. I'm not good at it, but I can see this game is very enjoyable

Destroy All Humans!8

Proof that games made during the 5th and 6th generation we're the best as this game joins many others as a remake or remaster. The aesthetic was very drastically changed for the character models, but I feel the more cartoony character models work better with this game. My only issues with this game are that after completing it and achieving all the trophies, there isn't much replayability. You unlock everything and then there isn't much to do that you haven't done before. Though it is replayable if you leave the game on your shelf for a while and come back to play it again. A simple fix could be to have a mission creator for the community to establish. Overall though, I hope the rest of the destroy all humans games get the same treatment this one received.

The gameplay is very fluid and I truly get the feeling of swinging through Manhattan. The end game playability is fairly decent, but gets repetitive really fast.

This game would be an excellent arcade cabinet. It plays as a wonderful Beat-em-up. The controls are fairly decent for the game but the vertical movement is a little fidgety and there aren't any vertical attacks. For $20, is a decent story with fair replay value. The biggest drawback is how there isn't a versus mode like in the original. Once it includes the versus mode, I'll say that it's worth $30(cost of physical). The game has some bugs that need to be fixed but I was able to complete the storyline despite the game freezing a couple times while fighting Diamond. The trophies are easily achievable with a second playthrough. The commentary is hilarious and the product placement for icy hot is perfect. I do wish that there could be more weapons included, especially in areas where the fights are more difficult.

Yooka-Laylee8

Yooka-Laylee is such a nostalgia trip to the days of Banjo-Kazooie in every little aspect, both good and bad. The good part of the game is how it's an easy pick-up and play 3D platformer that has a decent skill curve. The bad part is going to be the camera controls and it's over-reliance on nostalgia to fulfill the cravings of us aging gamers. The concept of expanding worlds to recreate them seems like an attempt to enforce replayability where it would have been just fine having the fully expanded worlds where our skills could be utilized without revisiting the worlds such as in the OG Banjo Kazooie.
