I love shmups but I hate roguelites. They spell poor game design to me, dev lazyness, repeat and repeat mindlessly untill you get through. Nothing to get attached too, no A to Z carefully crafted world and design. Never knowing what you will get and therefore often unfair. My gamelist is 80% shmups, so I tried Steredenn, but quickly regreted the purchase. So repetitive, no enemy or pattern stands out from the others, nothing is kept from your previouse sessions, start over from scratch, good luck... So why still 6 ? The soundtrack rocks.

Nope, a game that forces you to walk all the way back from the entrance after failing the first boss ( and you will fail), despite having unlocked the bonfires on your way there is a huge fail. It's basically devs easily adding playtime to the game. They then patch the game with a lift which don't even fix the all **** yeah, how ridiculous it must have been without that lift? Cause it still is now. Shame, really wanted to like this game but ended up frustrated and hating it. Watch out for critics reviews on that one. I should have listened to the people complaining about backtracking.

I really wanted to like that game, but the developpers just shoot themselves in the leg with an absurdly high difficulty, and that is in easy mode. I don't get it, keep the Hard hard as it should be, but bring some accessibility for other players no? Why not? There's nothing cool about making games so hard that even +20 go don't make you see any progress, and I'm no casual player. Bring a patch for the love and ranking this game deserves. Let normal players enjoy your creation for ... sake.

Hands down the best JRPG on the system as for May2023. Very few are the games where I spent +60 hours and still wanting more. I'm almost done with it, and having not played any SMT game before I cannot give you the "it's better or worse" than previous titles lesson, and to be honest I don't care. This title ticks all the boxes, it's great in every aspect. It's a 9.5. Can't wait for the next one. I've now purchased Nocturne on switch and Devil Survivor 2 on 3DS, but I doubt they'll be reaching that high on my top played game list. SMT5 has reach top 1, yes, closely followed by RE4 (not the remaster). Funny cause these are the last 2 games I played, so I feel kind of lucky, and I'm playing games since the early 90s. Yes i'm that old. Just grab it and shut up ;)
