I wanted this game since release in 2012, since I had heard rave reviews from Extra credits. And honestly it wasn't bad after finally receiving a free version from Humble Bundle. The controls really weren't that bad, the gameplay was fair, if not redundant for the most part. My contention however is the story being a load of contrived garbage. at first I was all in with the sotry and I knew there would be a twist having heard a little about the outline/plot. But what was supposed to make this game exceptional was it's self examination, not just about 'war is bad' but also you as a player feeling uncomfortable actually playing the game. But I didn't feel that at all, I felt nothing post the unfortunate accident because the choices were entirely forced. that works for movies sure, but not for games which need agency, no matter good the story is it destroys the the interplay to force such contrivances on the player. So, guilt free I felt cheated of my time. In fact the only point that game me pause at all wa sa portion the openly asked me if I was having a good time murdering Americans>> that in an of itself was an interesting thought to ponder for juxtaposition, but the central theme of the game I feel failed to deliver an adult conversation. It honestly felt like a childish attempt to 'catch' me enjoying murder and then going 'Aha! don't you feel ackwardly ashamed... but I don't and when confront by this idea of murdering for fun, I came to the identical conclusion as the main character except with less autonomy (there were zero options to continue watching the game story unfold than to plod along in a another narrowly focused game design) than the game personality I was pigeonholed into an inescapable narrative, that had nothing to do with me. E for effort I guess. How about a 6 out of 10 for bang up game design other than story.

Key points ~ It's a shooter, and a persistent world. You can play any class at any time and optimize as you see fit . It has ground vehicle/infantry/aircraft mixture. It is a strategy game, caveat being it's largely MMO shooter based .. so can tend be be fairly random as to it's nature. Sometimes this emergence is fun, sometimes it's frustrating and defeating. This is not a pay to win game. This is not a free to play game either in a sense of fairness, there are basic weapons you will want to buy. this is a grind game, so in the initial start for instance very few .. very very few have even optimized a single class the way they see fit. You have to grindand even a scope may take you a couple hours to work toward. Advatage unanimously goes to the game whales, this means people paying money will be better off buying farmed characters than paying for gold (I don't recommend either the game is actually fun). The most disconcerting thing in this game is the sheer rockface of farming that ust happen to achieve, it is likely to create a very selective player base .. which has nothng to do with "what" type of game they prefer .. but what a couple hoursof your freetime a night will profit an average player. This game is a descendent of tanarus and then planetside 1 both of which came out over 10 years ago. The strategy and fun is still there even while farming for weapon upgrades ect. But the whales will have a significant advantage maybe 20% over the new guy . I give this game an 7- 8 (going with 8 for now under benefit of doubt) for 2 reasons mainly ~ too many indistinguishable hacks/glitches, and 2 much farming. Otherwise I would give this game a 9 for it's creative / sandboxy feel and gameplay. This is also a very difficult game, in the sense a new player is going to have a rough time trying to get their feet in~ which is fine. But because it's bot farmy and difficult I think 2 strikes will not attract new players .. but rather only game abuses.

GW2 did what the last 7 years (and 100+) of mmos haven't really successfully, and thats innovate over WoW. The question is does it matter? The game is much better than other mmos gameplay-wise, and has "some skill", it's terrain complexity is a 10 of 10 also. The questing isn't rat race driven ect. I gave GW2 an 8 and that is rated on a curve, the amount of sheer creative input in this game is impressive. GW2 is also the best MMOPVP I have played except maybe Champions online Zombie apocolypse, it's tailored largely like Lotro. But still, is this what weve been waiting for? It still has most of the immersion breaking mmo qualities, it gives you ability to "do your own thing" but the carrot on the stick has simply been switched from quest completion to "map completion". Is that better? A little, but I think only because it's newer. Also the dynamic events and pulling the social "level" walls enhances the game greatly. but again does that make mmos worth your time? I think it is finally with GW2 that we can see MMOs are deeply and fundamentally flawed, and it isn't just the trinity, it isn't just a lack of story of combat immersion. It's a lack of everything else, environments that are intelligent, personal social roleplay, all this replaced with cartoony mass media appetite filler, ect. online games need to be brougt back to the drawing board .. back down to why nerds actually played social games in groups 30+ years ago (and no they weren't addiction based every-night-entertain-me games). Because even 13 years after EQ began the first farm questing, we have still been seeking some actually engaging "imagination play". And it is simply not possible under mmo business as usual gameplay function. We need to start understanding what makes a game a game roleplay ~ roleplay~ and simple online interactive media .. just media and not a game~ After having said all that I can still say I "enjoy" the game and wish Arenanet even more success.. they did themselves proud ~ for a mmo. (and PS innovated many more things beyond whic a single post can hold)

High fidelity graphics, mediochre folk music. Diverse gameplay, puzzle game. Unfortunately the game is fairly easy and predictable. More time baking the puzzles less time on graphics would have made this game quite a bit sweeter. this is after all a descendant of Lost Vikings from the SNES, while there is more diversity of play it doesn't make it more interesting or imaginative. Nonetheless this is a decent time waster, and in a AAA industry its hard not to gravitate toward it. I think ultimately less WoW and more Lost Vikings would have been advisable.

This game does exactly what games are supposed to do, capture your imagination and play with it. The game does get a little drier by the end by it also finishes with an interesting proposal. and the music gives the game a symbiotic experience.

This is a game that is better in "concept" than most FPS games. It has a firm interest in realism which is highly commendable, and not just in the story but in all it's concept. Unfortunately this is a shipped Alpha product. With patches and disorganization behind the obvious problems. I love supporting the new inventor, but this is just plain old supporting bad development teams. It sits unfixed still in my Valve list, and there it will probably stay. I hope they enjoy some cheap vodka with the money they swindled me out of.

Let's just call this what it is. a slightly more polished version of Travian a browser game (which has better gameplay sadly). It's a cow clicker for people too bored at work, stay at home moms andpre teens learning about the net. this really isn't a game however except in the barest of forms, it's a competition. and frankly a time leech. Where enjoyment is supposed to be here you find mindless work. It's intangible, like a record of history without bounds or identity, or antyhing relatable except icons and arrows. This is a lengthy way to say it's addiction based, Pavlog dog base crappola that is seeping into our netspace like a ninja wearing a outfit with the title "game" as a nametag. But it is a lie, there is no cake.

Thus far I've played about 3 hours. It has some interesting movement dynamics. The game is entirely team based however, I don't think there is a community intercom to coordinate. The game also makes the same shotguns for nubs/mgs for pros error, without a stair step for difficulty. It's a decent timewaster, its enjoyable, but it oesn't draw me in with invention or divergent playstyles. Its a fairly 1 track minded shooter without a lot of the options. the pay to compete thing here isn't as bad as say World of Tanks, but it's present nonetheless. I think a 6 is suitable.

This game is a blast, is it a MMO with years of entertainment? no, Does it offer a deeply enriching story? no Is it top notch art? no. Terraria is exploration heaven. Terraria is relatable gaming. Terraria is better because there is no hand holding, yet intuitive. Terraria is challenging. Terraria actually engages the right half of your brain, and offers a good bit of action. My only complaint is Terraria can be a bit lonely for long hours. Pets would be kool =) For 10 bucks though this game is all win for the player. I would give Terraria a 9.5, some things could use some polish... but sincethere are so few games that are actually right brained fun out there I'll go with a 10.

In a word, well there's no one word that explains my disappointment. As a MMO, Swtor stands out as being the finest overall achievement I've seen in my 25+ years of gaming, as a MMO ... As a game? Boring. I've been bored by Bioware creations before, heck I put down Kotor a few times before coming back to finish it .. twice. But there's no sincerity to this game, there's no depth to players experience. Everything is on rails, and with as much as there is to explore it's awfully ironic. The quests after the first couple of planets become more and more generic-y. The combat is especially old hat and in many places has an odd convoluted feeling. I love the gimmicky nostalgic poster "stances", but under the weight of the ad-tedium MMO keyboard gameplay, the visuals drop to back ground noise for farming MMO "stuff". I was bored of WoW a year after it came out, why would I return for episode 2? Thee is almost no "real" exploration, except for the platforming to gain special rewards. But again they have no meaningful gain to your character so they are basically discardable experiences in an otherwise quest grindy leveling game. I found myself looking at everything, trying everything and being punished by being way over level to the point where I actually skipped the 2 most famous planets in the Star wars universe .. talk about frustrating. Ya know it's one thing to create a game with a great deal of restrictions in mind for the players better enjoyment~ It's another to restrict the player and really not offer anything enjoyable. If you are even half right brained this game will not suit you, and for a game this lives and dies on it's creativity addition..... I guess I'll just have to say the Bioware or really EA should be thankful Blizzard carved them an advertisement pathway, because there's not much here for anyone who relishes a traditional Bioware personal story experience or meaningful food for thought.

Awesome game, untrustworthy mechanics. I love the realism, options, progression and over all feel of the mechanics and delivery are spot on. I won't play the game again. I don't trust the servers or developers to offer fair gameplay. Hackers, cheaters and severely unbalanced gameplay make this game a fairly self defeating experience. If EA delivered trustable hack proof servers, which they never will. I could definitely be coaxed back to playing.
