A beautiful and emotional journey, with breathtaking landscapes and detailed, lovable characters, in a way that only Hideo Kojima can deliver

An absolute classic from start to finish. MGS2 was one of the games that really made me fall in love with the Metal Gear series. I first played it on PS2, and I’ve replayed it several times since then on PC through emulation. Every time I come back to it, I’m still amazed by how much detail and thought Hideo Kojima put into this game. I absolutely love Raiden, and I especially love the bait and switch with the game’s story and characters. The way the game plays with your expectations is still brilliant to me. I also love all the little details Kojima put into the game. For example, if you choose that you’ve never played a Metal Gear game before starting, you skip the entire Tanker section with Snake and start directly with Raiden. It’s such a small detail, but it gives you a completely different introduction to the game depending on your answer. And honestly, despite being more than 20 years old, the story and its themes feel more relevant than ever today. Some of the ideas Kojima explored back then are still incredibly relevant in the world we live in now. It really shows how much of a pioneer and visionary he was. Even by today’s standards, the graphics, cinematics and art direction still hold up incredibly well. There’s so much personality and attention to detail in the presentation that the game still looks and feels special after all these years. The gameplay, the characters, the atmosphere, the story and all the little details make this game an absolute classic for me. I’ve played it multiple times on PS2 and on PC through emulation, and I still love it every time. I really hope we eventually get a proper remake of MGS2. After seeing what has been done with MGS3, I would absolutely love to experience this game again with modern visuals while keeping the spirit of the original. A true classic, and one of the games that every Metal Gear fan should experience at least once.

I’ve waited six years to play this game! My introduction to the Metal Gear series was Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. I enjoyed them, but not as much as I expected. I really liked Ground Zeroes, but at the time, I saw it mostly as a really good stealth game. Phantom Pain was a different story. I never actually finished it, but I was really intrigued by its art direction. Then, during COVID, I had a revelation. I bought a PS2 with MGS2, and that’s when everything clicked. It was like I had found God. I completely fell in love with the series. I went back to The Phantom Pain, replayed it, and finally understood its genius. From that moment on, I had an insane desire to play MGS3, but I held myself back from 2020 to 2026 because I knew a remaster was in the works. And finally, the wait is over. I got to play this absolute classic from start to finish, and I loved everything about it. The characters, the gameplay, the atmosphere, everything was fantastic. I also really love the fact that the remake stays 1:1 with the original. For me, that’s a strength rather than a weakness. The game is basically perfect. The only thing I could criticize is the PC performance, as it requires a pretty powerful PC. Luckily, I didn’t have any major performance issues, although I was a little disappointed with the frame rate. That’s mostly an Unreal Engine problem, though. I ended up using a mod to push the game above 100 FPS. But aside from that slightly more technical aspect for performance nerds like me, the game is perfect. It’s an absolute classic that every gamer should experience at least once.

It feels really good to dive back into the Halo series with this entry. When I was younger, I remember playing Halo 3 and Halo Reach without really understanding the story, but I already loved the universe and, of course, the Warthog lol Coming back to the series with this game was a great experience. The graphics are absolutely beautiful and look amazing on PC. I was able to run it easily at 4K and over 144 FPS. The story is really interesting, the graphics are stunning, and the gunplay feels great. Overall, a very good entry for discovering or rediscovering the Halo saga.
