A few chuckles but overall very flat. Similar to South Park in the way it felt it was made last week but I doubt it'll age well.

There is some decent action, tension and the movie expectantly looks pretty good but this movie has less heart than a cardboard box.

I was pretty excited to see this movie when I first heard the premise. I thought it would do well as a character focused movie - but the character's were hardly explored - with next to no character dialogue. When Charles and Logan do talk - the word **** is so overused that it loses all impact. I guess FOX wanted to follow up with the success of Deadpool but it tonally doesn't work. The characters at best service the situation at worst are completely devoid of any true character. I found myself feeling disconnected and bored - fighting to stay awake during this 2h 18m run time. Do not have any expectations for this movie. Maybe you'll like it - mileage may vary as they say.

This movie was an outright insult. The set ups simply don't make sense - and the story it is trying to tell is ridiculous beyond measure. Couldn't bring myself to watch beyond the first half - apparently the better of the two. Vin Diesel's commitment to the role seems misplaced. Elijah Woods and Michael Cain have zero role or character. The script is so poorly written that you will constantly question it's logic and the dialogue so bad that you will question whether it's self-aware. This is an un-movie. Avoid.

I've never found myself disagreeing with the popular opinion so greatly - but this mess of a movie was really quite bad. To begin with this movie is tonally incoherent. I was unsure if it was trying to be a serious Sci-Fi movie or a comedy. It has a promising set-up of potentially being Cast Away in space but I never felt the drama of the situation. This is probably because the majority of the drama is being told - not shown and its done uninterestingly by Matt Damon. The cast would seem better fit for an SNL movie - but here the comedy is groan-worthy. Also - this movie has very odd product placement. At one point Matt Damon whips out a bottle of Heinz Ketchup circa 2015 with no explanation why they would leave him with no food but some how be able to have Heinz on board. This movie was off the mark in almost every category but it's worst offence was taking an interesting premise and cheapening by having it described through needless narration. They either thought the demographic was too stupid to understand what was going on - or they wanted to save money by not filming the action. TL;DR don't watch this unless you want to see how a movie with a good premise can be rendered utterly mediocre
