Weeds: Season 78

I really like Parker! The stories are good, but I get a bit tired of the way they always almost "make it" only to fall back down. They have become (always were?) predictable. I miss some of the quirky actors from the early shows like Perkins, too. None of this stops me from watching every episode.

Rescue Me: Season 510
Sep 4, 2011
Not every show is a winner, but the acting, humor, pathos, and action (like watching Backdraft often) draw me to every show. The ensemble is just incredible with various (current and past) stars appearing in many shows.

House: Season 44
Sep 4, 2011
I used to enjoy House but after getting rid of most of the original cast (to have them somehow reappear) threw me. Also, Dr. House has become just so bizarre that I tire of the show easily -- more medicine would help IMHO, but I suspect I won't be watching much even in the doldrums of summer.

The Closer: Season 64
Sep 4, 2011
I used to like The Closer, but the stories have become too muddled with personal problems of the actors (in the show, not real life), and I can barely watch current episodes.

The Daily Show: Season 110
Sep 4, 2011
By far the best news show on TV! While supposedly comedy, it is one of the most inciteful news shows. Hardly any other shows on TV take-to-task the Fox and other show's banalities and misstatements. The interviews are the best segment IMHO since Jon spends enough time to keep the guests from simply spouting talking points (for the politicians) and banalities (for the authors and others). Some people -- Elizabeth Warren -- would have been "invisible" to me, I suspect, except for her appearances on the show and the obvious attraction between she and Jon (Jon asked her to marry him in one show). I just wish this show did not go "on vacation" so much. I think some of the other people on the show could easily host when Jon is not available!

Wilfred: Season 11
Sep 4, 2011
I tried a couple of shows but could never get into it. I remember trying to watch Dilbert on TV but found that extremely painful (too much like real life) -- perhaps that is my problem with this show.

Zen: Season 18
Sep 4, 2011
Characters and stories are excellent. I just wish the characters felt Italian. With hardly an accent from any of the characters, it is just a bit difficult to get deeply involved.

Necessary Roughness: Season 15
Sep 4, 2011
While I really like Callie Thorne, I had a lot of trouble with this show. The premise seemed very contrived and the show just does not "work" for me.

Game of Thrones: Season 110
Sep 4, 2011
I am not a big fantasy nor historical watcher, but Game of Thrones "got" me from the first show. I got the book after the season finale and liked it very much (boy, are these books long!). I have already read the second book and looking forward to book 3.

Justified: Season 210

Olyphant and the rest of the characters are simply riviting. The stories are great and the twists are often very unexpected but realistic (believable?).

The Franchise: A Season with the San Francisco Giants: Season 18
Sep 4, 2011
I am not a baseball fan, but the "characters" and "story" are very interesting to watch. They seem to have captured a good amount of the "drama" of the SF Giants and the players struggles with life and baseball.

Treme: Season 210
Sep 4, 2011
I love the story lines and characters, but what really sets Treme apart for me is the music and musicians and how they are integrated into the stories. Another huge plus for me is that the actors playing musicians actually appear to be playing (and, I understand they are in some cases). It always detracts for me to see obvious syncing whether vocal or playing. NOLA is also one of my favorite cities to visit and seeing the city struggling back from Katrina is very real. I have been back since Katrina and while the French Quarter is intact, a lot of the culture and feel has disappeared -- you only need travel a few blocks from the French Quarter to find dead areas from Katrina.
