I prefer this game over Animus stand alone. Animus Harbinger is a more cohesive package. The gameplay feels more progressive, you are advancing on your journey and the levels are more tied to each other.

Basically it takes the first game and improves in every aspect. More choices, better graphics (imo) and more story and lore.

Not technically as polished as Diablo, in my opinion, but somehow I feel Dark Alliance is a more cohesive experience. I like how the maps are laid out, the monsters and the items. You can feel that they stem from a well thought-out, existing lore (D&D).

It is a great game. It works fantastically on the Switch. You will get a lot of playing hours out of it, if you wish. Unfortunately it lacks some of the personality and uniqueness of Diablo 2, in my opinion. But on the other hand, this game is very accessible and easy to grab.

A very very good game that you just want to keep on playing. Like everybody knows. The only thing that would make it more interesting for me personally and give it longevity, would be a more unique theme. Now I think it is pretty generic with regular playing cards + powerups and jokers.

Very entertaining game with a beautiful world and environment. Not a perfect game but if you take it as it is: an older mobile Elder Scrolls type of game, you might have a really good time.

Great concept and idea but a bit rough around the edges. The sequel improves basically every aspect of gameplay.

I used to be a huge wrestling and wrestling video game fan growing up, but I never really played any of the games after Here Comes the Pain. The more recent titles always looked a bit sterile and lifeless to me. But Action Arcade Wrestling captures that older wrestling game feel without being stiff. Of course there could be a career mode or similar. And it would make the game even better. But still there are many match types to choose from. The actual gameplay and mechanics work really well in my opinion. I like the counter mechanics and they do offer a challenge. Also I am really really happy that you get to unlock stuff, like in the old days :) so there is a reason to keep playing the game besides it being fun. It is a bit difficult to find community created wrestlers that are not real/copyrighted should that concern you.

This is a delightful game, though mainly in the cult/guilty pleasure category. There is nothing wrong with it, and though repetitive, it has a pleasing look and feel. The character and environment design is not original by any means but I think this game serves as a tribute to classic dungeon crawling games. If the game had a story and more length to it, it would honestly be one of my favorites. And completely unironically the sound design is really great. The music is good, and the creepy sound effects really create an apt dungeon crawling atmosphere.

So far the most immersive and enjoyable classic RPG experience I have had on Nintendo Switch. And probably my favorite RPG on the Switch altogether. Even compared to bigger-money games, this is the one I choose. Two character party works great on the console controller because you have left and right shoulder buttons for each. Lots of interesting items and a rich crafting system. You also have a house you can do some interior design in. Really. Bonus points for the graphics. They suit the game perfectly and are not too dark but also colorful. Enemy models are pleasant to look at. If you get tired of the main game or cannot progress, there are different level dungeon challenges you can play like a minigame. The game just keeps on giving. It is hard for me to comprehend how much this game has to offer.

A perfect game if you want to play a more linear souls-like game in short bursts. The gameplay loop is addictive with different builds and items. Personally I have enjoyed Animus more than Dark Souls. So if you are a person who does not have the time to play very long at a time or very often, I can recommend this game for your Souls-needs. My one and only complaint is the occasional momentary freeze but it does not come at critical times in the combat.

The hightlight of the game are probably the different skills you learn as you progress in the world. There is a nice variety and if there were any more, it might get too complex. Actually another hightlight are the puzzles in the dungeons. They are creative and the difficulty level was pretty spot-on at least for me personally. Only thing I would like is more places to explore. The game is pretty short but then again, it is not expensive by any means so no complaints there.

I had read a lot beforehand that the game has very poor controls and that the hit detection is random and confusing. At least when playing the Nintendo Switch version in 2024, the controls work and you can hit enemies. Of course the game is pretty challenging and you need to study the enemies’ patterns but that goes for many other critically-acclaimed games also. Edit: After playing some more, I gotta say it is a tough game. But it is rewarding to train against different enemies. And the thing that surprised me the most is the variety of the random dungeons. There is even a chance to deal with enemies through environmental damage, which is pretty neat. Edit2: this is not a game I play very long on one go, but I keep coming back to it every so often and I think I always learn a bit more about the combat. My movements get better and I get hurt a lot less. There is definitely more depth to the mechanics than you might think at first.

What can I say? One of my favorite games on the Switch. Easy to grab and just play for a while. The game is very simple in its gameplay mechanics but frankly you don’t really need more for an enjoyable experience. There are several modifiers you can by with in-game currency for your runs. There is also the possibility to create a custom character in addition to the default classes.

Kind of a perfect game for me at the moment. Story and character heavy with no twitch mechanics whatsoever. There is a lot of unlocking to do, but even with your first plays with the human character, you can get very different stories depending on your choices. My only complaint is that it is easy sometimes to get stuck in loops with the same things happening over and over. Though at least sometimes it has been my own fault for not figuring out the solution to a problem :)

A traditional RPG game with a surprising amount of depth for a mobile game: lots of items, skills and spells. You can affect combat with different weapons, spells, how many enemies you target, how you have allocated your stat points etc. There are also different characters and locations you can visit in addition to the main dungeon complex. Monster selection is vast and there is also a minion capture feature. If you are looking for a D&D experience on the mobile, this is the best one I have seen.

Swords & Adventures is a neat little game with three different classes, character stats you can develop and three different level items. The game is mainly about combat where you roll either melee or magic dice and see how you do against the opponent’s roll and stats. There is also some story and quests around this. Not a perfect game but you can feel the developers’ love for the subject. There are not a lot of games out there that play like this. It is easy to pick up and play for a while and see if the rolls are on your side. Personally I really like that the game has introduced me to tabletop rpg concepts, and got me interested in the hobby.

If you like the nostalgic fantasy rpg look, puzzle gameplay and lots of items, this might be a game for you. The graphics are beautiful, timeless and fit the theme of the game. There is a good balance of color and darkness. The character portraits are also pleasing to the eye. As for the battle gameplay, I really think this game has one of the most functional ones I have experienced myself. It is turn-based which is a good starting point for any rpg-style game. But what makes it interesting are the choices you make by connecting the crystals for more powerful attacks. On top of it all, there are enough items to make different builds for melee or magic and different elemental magic properties to use against monsters’ respective weaknesses. The music and the story are not the game’s strengths and could have been improved but I don’t personally have a problem with them, you can always put on some music of your own. Also, this is a fun and easy-to-grab game, there is no need for heavy storytelling in my opinion. My only real problems with the game are few random bugs here and there, and that the directional controls are not always the most functional so you might need to use touch screen from time to time. But for the price, it is a definite hidden gem.
