Cyberpunk 20775

Not at all I was expecting. I didn't mind the bugs so much although they are irritating. I realize that some games have a rough launch (think of Witcher 3) and Cyberpunk 2077 obviously falls into this category.
However, the thing that disappoints me in this game is not the bugs but the game design itself. There is the lack of all those open world features that the trailers led us to believe we were getting and which would have made this game immersive. If you've got the hardware to handle it, the city looks great, but you soon realize that it is mostly window dressing and there is very little that you can interact with outside any scripted quests. If you compare this aspect of the game with GTA 4 or GTA 5 for example, then the Rockstar games have far more interactive content. Another aspect of the game that is poor is player interaction with NPCs. For example, the relationship / romance feature is very limited and simple, offering nothing new. Everything feels so obviously pre-determined and tightly scripted. Character customization is not much more than a choice of few presets and the ability to change hair and eye color. Again, GTA 5 beats this by a wide margin. Same applies to weapons customization. Skills progression seems unnecessarily complicated and gives you so little advantage that it becomes quite meaningless.
My reaction to the first 10 hours or so of this game was that CDPR had pulled a 'No Man's Sky' on us. In other words, they failed to achieve their goals by a wide margin, but decided to mislead the public with fake trailers and false promises right up to the release date.

I thin there are enough reviews out there singing to the merits of this game, so there is no need for me to add more to those. Rather, I'm just here to explain why I gave it a 9 rather than a 10. It's just small things I'm picking on really, which had they been right, would have made this a perfect game. Currently, some of these problems can be modded away and some can't. Firstly, the nights have been designed to be quite bright. Instead of seeing true darkness, we look at the a daytime world through a kind of blue filter. This is a design decision that is quite common in these kind of games simply because the majority of players seem to want it. For me, it destroys the immersion. I like dungeons and nights to be so dark that I need lanterns to see around. It's more realistic and scary! Secondly, there are few immersive touches that I feel are missing, such as the ability to on chairs and benches like you can in Skyrim. These simple, pointless actions are half the fun in role playing games for me. It's a pity Witcher 3 is complicated to mod. If it were as easy to mod as an Elder Scrolls game, I would have not brought up these points.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Hearthfire4

This DLC doesn't add any content to the game, but instead gives players the ability to create a home in the Skyrim world. For console players, this is a new possibility for Sims-like immersion which I'm sure many will appreciate. However, the DLC is pointless for PC players who are into modding. Even if you can't make your own mods, you can find mods that do what this DLC does and much more. Personally, I think this type of Sims playing should NOT be the focus of an Elder Scrolls game!
