Destiny 26

When I played the first Destiny, I thoroughly enjoyed the multiplayer though was very disappointed by the campaign. It was very short, boring and doesn't give you any interest in any of the characters whatsoever. This time however, its the other way round. The campaign in this new instalment is definitely an improvement from the first one. The characters are more interesting (and funny), starring Nolan North as the Guardian (big fan of his work), but the gunplay feels smoother, it is less repetitive and it has a much more engaging narrative and amazing graphics. So what is it that really lets this game down for me? The multiplayer. This is a big factor for me because once I complete the story I will be ready to spend the rest of my time with this game on the multiplayer like I did in the first Destiny as I did not give a s**t about the story. Unfortunately for me, that was simply NOT the case. When playing the open beta I was not impressed with the multiplayer. Was it the imbalanced classes, the boring game modes, the short and boring rounds or the broken mechanics such as the class abilities or the stiff turning controls? It was all of them! Though I still went and bought the game mainly for the campaign and because I though that this was just the beta stages of the multiplayer. I knew there would be more maps, classes and game modes which it does offer but all the problems are still there. All of the classes are very imbalanced with some being overpowered and others being underpowered (for example the Hunter is OP while the new Warlock is very underpowered). The entire game itself is a combination of Call of Duty Infinite Warfare and Halo 5. I hated Infinite Warfare and if you did than you will not enjoy this. I did enjoy Halo 5 however. In the first Destiny there was something in the multiplayer that made these two combinations work, with this game however it feels very wrong. Is it because of the futuristic entries into the COD series we've been getting such as Infinite Warfare or was it the disappointment with Halo 5. I could spend an hour of your time saying everything that is wrong or doesn't work in the multiplayer in detail, but to summarise it, it is average at best and boring, frustrating and imbalanced at worst. And for some reason the gunplay in the singleplayer feels really good, even when you team up with other players, but in the multiplayer, the Warlocks guns for example are P-Shooters. Either that or the enemies I fight are bullet sponges. When I say the multiplayer is frustrating its in times such as when I get killed by an enemy I should've killed because I started shooting them first with most of my bullets landing on their body. They obviously had more armour than I did, but with a better gun at the same time that is capable at getting headshots easier, which is probably why they were able to retaliate and kill me, but like I said the classes and weapons are so imbalanced and the abilities are so inconsistent. Overall I would not recommend buying this game just for the multiplayer unless you love the futuristic shooters such as Infinite Warfare, than I would say yes, but wait. If you wanna buy this game for the single player, even then I wouldn't recommend it. As much as I enjoyed this games campaign, it was annoying how you must always be connected to the internet even when you just want to play solo. That was the same problem that the original Destiny had. The campaign is about no more than 10 hours long. If you wanna buy this game for the single player than I suggest wait a couple of months for a couple of price drops, than you should pick it up as it is definitely worth paying attention to unlike the first destiny. It seems that the game got almost everything right with the single player improving from the original in almost every way, but they just ruined the multiplayer for me. The multiplayer in the first Destiny was not perfect but was very fun and enjoyable. I am disappointed how instead of taking everything good about the original Destiny's multiplayer and make it better, they almost completely f**ked it up, but at least flag capture was untouched, which is good because its my favourite in this game but bad because I wished they would've improved on it because I found it only decent in the first Destiny. I just hope that either they make some major changes to the multiplayer throughout the course of next year or that Destiny 3 will do everything they did right with the multiplayer from Destiny 1 and not like Destiny 2 and that the campaign is just as good as it is here, because so far, once I fully finish the campaign, this is a game that I will forget about a couple of weeks later until either I trade it in or until the multiplayer is reworked. If it is, then I may do a re-review and re-evaluate my opinion on the multiplayer because so far I am NOT impressed what so ever. This game is definitely another disappointment just like the original but in the opposite way.

Minecraft: Story Mode Season Two - Episode 1: Hero in Residence7
Jul 16, 2017
Just like with the first episode of the first season, I am very impressed with how things have turn out. The debut of Season 2, reuniting or meeting some of the characters I loved in Season 1. Just like in the first season, this kick starts with an interesting (though a bit dull story wise) way to show off some of the new mechanic this brand new season has to offer, and showing just what Jesse has been up to these past few years. I think what this starting episode did better than the starting episode of season 1 was make me very attached to this new antagonist. I have seen very little of this new antagonist, but what I've seen of him so far has given me some (hopefully) accurate first impressions; scary, hungry, and ruthless while at the same time seemed to really left something to be desired with Jesse, the main character. In terms of some of the other newer characters, they do seem interesting and were just enough to grab my attention, however a lot of them came in as soon as most of the older main characters were wiped off at the very beginning which makes me wonder that they only did that to inflict our interest to the new characters. For instance, this one particular new character who was introduced at the very beginning right before having the swansong of the original characters from season 1 for the remainder of the episode. It also seemed that this new character (with the name, Radar) has known Jesse for quite a while now, otherwise (depending on the players choice) you would barely trust them as much as Jesse did or as much as the older characters. Not to say that I hate these new characters, in fact most of them I really liked, I'm just saying that their introduction could've been a little better and less dull unlike the introduction to the original characters from the first episode of season 1. And as well as the main antagonist which I mentioned earlier, there is another antagonist we got to meet though a completely different category of character compared to the main antagonist. The main antagonist is very wicked, ruthless, snide and horrendous all at the same time while the other is sordid, roguish, nasty and a little austere. I had fairly mixed feelings on this semi-antagonist with me being convinced that she had a pretty indifferent personality, and being a cringe worthy characters in both a good and bad way. A good way because of how much I felt attached to this antagonist when first meeting them based off their nasty personality though in a bad way because of the very short time we had to know them and during the end of their time in the episode made my original opinions of her want to change due to them unexpectedly undoing one of their previous 'villainy' actions which was most of the reason why I came to really hate this person and begin to like her as a semi-antagonist. One of the other new characters we got introduced were a former explorer, adventurer and vigilante named Jack. As soon as he was introduced, he immediately became my favourite newly introduced character of season 2. There was very little I disliked about this guy; he was very intelligent, wise, and brave and cunning once you convince him on taking part of your next adventure, similar to when you convince Soren from Episode 3 to go with you who I also liked when I first met him, though in the next episode I got a new bad impression of him. I certainly do not want this to also happen to Jack in the next episode, but for now, I cannot wait to hopefully see him in action again as well as one of the old characters who was briefly shown at the very end. In terms of the story, at first during the prologue it was very dull and plotless, unlike the prologue in the beginning of season 1 which not only first introduced the first original characters with most of their personality, but showed that they had a purpose which would eventually lead up to them talking their greatest adventure very soon. This was NOT the sort of impression I got with this episodes prologue. When the main story does kick in however, it is something really interesting though not fun to watch like in season 1, but instead more intense to see a couple of your favourite characters themselves caught in a boot. Jesse is lured to a type of prismarine gauntlet glove of some description consisting of a very intensifying and ominous voice calling their name. This then leads to the very early stages of more possible danger to the world which they must fix with the help of the adventurer Jack. Once it is fixed, a whole new and bigger problem begins with the main antagonist being featured looking more evil and angrier than anyone ever has with Jesse. The episode ends right there with so many unanswered questions that I cannot wait to see continue in the next episode along with the return of some of the characters (possibly) such as an old season 1 character and hopefully the semi-antagonist. I cannot wait to see what more Telltale has to offer in this episodic series.

Cut to the chase. Prey is a bad fu**ing game. its boring, frustrating and very confusing at the same time. There are two sides of Bethesda Softworks in my eyes. There's the side I love, which will keep me playing for months or even years such as doom and fallout, and than there the disappointing side of Bethesda that I will play for a few hours and be done such as with Elder Scrolls Online. This game is neither of these. It is worst. I expected this game to be full of fun and complex puzzles like breath of the wild, and some of those breathtaking and satisfying kill streaks from doom, but all it is, is another pile of garbage. The only good thing about this game are the weapon customisation, which deserve some credit. But it gets old pretty fast and its not as good as fallout customisation. That's what I also expected from this game, but no way. it is also feels like another one of these COD disappointments with too much futuristic designs and settings. LEAVE THAT TO HALO. AND LEAVE THIS GAME ALONE!! And don't even get me started with all the bugs and crashes I and you will most likely face on the PC version, at least on console it is 'decently polished'.

Forza Horizon 3: Hot Wheels10

If you love the forza series, than you will love Forza Horizon 3. If you love FH3 and you loved hot wheels as a kid, than you will definitely love this. This sort of expansion I would've never expected in a game like this, so much stupidly yet dangerously fun stunts. This DLC could not get any better. It combines FH3 with Hot wheels beat that from the PS2 & Nintendo DS, both some of my favourite racing games of all time. This pack is definitely worth $20 ($30 AUD) whether you are a fan of hot wheels or not, but as long as you love Forza. This and Blizzard Mountain have proven that no matter how unrealistic some of these stunts and features may be, it still works very well in a racing game like this. This is way better than both of the expansions we ever got in Forza Horizon 2 and this one is definitely Playground Games finest work at an expansion pack.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands8

Lets get this off the table first. The game is far off perfect. Starting with the solo gameplay, it can be fun at first until you realise who you are with. AI teammates who are next to no one. The only thing they're good for are Sync-shoting enemies (which can be pretty satisfiying) and reviving you. They hardly help you at all and you feel like its just you doing all of the work, they only do the work when you die and they have to kill the enemies who killed you before they can revive you. So in other words, don't buy this game at full price if you don't like or can't play with friends. But when you do play co-op, it becomes a completely different game. Unlike with your AI teammates where almost every side mission of the same category (defending a radio, tagging a convoy or stealing a helicopter) is pretty much the same with so much repetition, playing with friends makes them feel different in some way, planning. If you play solo, your AI teammates will just follow your lead and cover you, while you and your friends have different roles making them pretty ambitious. I also noticed when defending a radio that it is merely impossible to do it in solo as your AI teammates provide no roles of their on or backup unless you die. So in some cases of missions, playing with friends can be easier but more fun not only during the experience, but before it when planning your tactics whether they're in stealth or aggression. And one of the worst parts of playing in solo, the AI cannot drive which is a bad thing when attacking the cartel or unidad while on the road as they shoot like storm troopers, just bother to damage the car and not the enemies themselves. When always having to drive, you never get the chance of shooting out the window unlike in co-op. Co-op requires so much tactics, coordination and planning from how your going to do the mission to how you're going to get there and approach it. And the best thing is, you have the chance of gaining new skill points and finding new weapons around the map together. So to do everything in one province; story missions, side missions, gathering intel, finding new weapons and accessories and grabbing skill points and medals could take up to 3-4 hours, and then you move onto a different province with different design and landscape making the mission approaching not very repetitive. Though it really does get repetitive when playing in solo, especially in side missions, you do a mission, fly to another place, do another mission, drive to another place, and so on. Though I'm not saying that playing solo is completely garbage, there are definitely some cool aspects. You get to choose which province to go next without any character or AI teammate stopping or limiting you and each time you get to a new province, you always feel excited to explore it and find out how you're going to take out the buchon, will you have to kill them, extract them or save them? Slowly and slowly, you will work your way to the big boss; El Sueno. Though doing this in co-op will feel just as good as you're exploring the world together, finding new weapons together, gathering new intel together, planning tactics together and deciding which province to go to together. In conclusion, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands is an average game when in solo, fun but with repetitive gameplay, lack of tactics and stupid non-supporting AI teammates where all they do is cover you. However if you have at least 2 close friends online who have this game, then you will not regret buying this game, it is a blast and is a lot better than the division's co-op gameplay. Without co-op, its not Ghost Recon Wildlands, its just, well.. Wildlands.

Watch Dogs 29

So fun and addicting, way better than the division. I love the map design, I love the new hacking abilities, and most of all I love the new protagonist; Marcus Holloway. He is very cool, funny, interesting and very fun to play as. Marcus is the complete opposite to Aiden Pearce to whom was just too normal, and normal is boring. I also love some of the side characters, Wrench (my personal favourite), Josh and Sitara. The gameplay is fun, approaching almost every mission in a different way which makes you feel like a badass. This sequel to the first Watch Dogs is like the sequel to Assassin's creed, improves on just about everything, except for the repetitive side missions (my only negative to the game). My only other negative to this game is that it compares too much to GTA V, but apart from that, this game is awesome, and is a game for anyone who loves the open world and stealth genre. And another great thing, NO DOWNGRADE unlike what Ubisoft have done in the past, including to the first watch Dogs.
