Thoroughly enjoyed the characters and the plot in this game, Playing for the first time in 2018 when the game has already seen out its first decade. All I knew going in was that there were similarities between this, Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones, which coming out of the other side I can certainly see that. The biggest drawback for me was the shooting, it feels a bit loose and quickly aiming before bobbing back into cover isn't something I could successfully do by the end, vehicle driving wasn't the best but certainly passable and puzzle variety was simple and limited. For me none of that took to much away from the plot and it's twists which left me surprised more than once, the writing, characters and relationships are also a big plus so I'm delighted that there are another 3 Drake games to go at.

Very basic in concepts but a lovely change in pace to my usual thumb crunching fayre. I was drawn to this have watched my big brother descending a moon lander on some game for Commadore64 back in the mid 80's and I got exactly what I wanted from this.

I went back to this after some time after completing Dig2 having dropped off about half way through previously, This time I was able able to push through and the game is quite enjoyable, I felt it was maybe a little harder although that could have been because it's more laborious than its successor with fewer teleports and ways to get back to the surface there's more traversing up and down to be done. The great writing and characters are evident in this game and it has charm aplenty if you can stick it though those frustrations.

This is not an easy walk through game, I died over 500 times in my play through of the 25 levels. It's an interesting idea flicking between the 2 screens and at times my thumbs were in knots trying to keep up. The controls are a fairly basic combination of run, jump and shoot and with no power ups to be found and the way through it can get a bit samey.

What a wonderful game that could easily have cost more than the £10 it's going for. The level design gets a little samey after a while, the platforming feels a little imprecise sometimes and the combat is largely mashing the attack button. Those for me are the 3 things which hold this back from a higher score but, for the most part there's plenty of room for error in the platforming so that wasn't often an issue. It's just great fun to run and jump and giraffe-copter through the levels. This is the first game in a long time that I've gone on to 100% partly because is shorter nature but also credit to the enjoyable play loop. The story is daft by design but fun too as is the dialogue and the cast of bizarre characters. Happily with such a plot there's plenty of space for a follow up which I'll be sure to pick up.

A simple puzzle game that reminds me in some ways of Soduku. I love the Layton games but the puzzles there are varied and interspersed around charming story and characters whereas this does get a little samey after a while.

I don't play a lot of mobile games as I've always had a handheld console to use since GBA and as a product of my time I have always preferred sticks and buttons to touchscreens. This being a Nintendo offering was always going to draw me in and eventually I plumped for the full game. Its basic by design and never tried to suggest otherwise just good old running and jumping. Once I got the hang of it I enjoyed my play through and the last 2 levels for me were the best of them. I'm sure I'll be going back to mop up some of those missed coins but will give the kingdom builder a miss. My 60% score is against full scale console games. Its not Odyssey but it's the best Mario Mobile phone game I've played! Would have got an 80% or 90% in that regard

Wow this is my favourite of the 3 instalments of Shovel Knight to date, same great music, graphic and level design as Shovel Knight and Plague Knight but the moveset here let's you feels like Tarzan swinging through the jungle mincing enemies on the way. Great fun, can't wait for the next one!

Having heard this game is great and knowing nothing more about it I couldn't wait to find out all about it. I enjoyed the plot, characters and voice acting and from the beginning I was gripped and really bemoaned having to play in short bursts as my busy life and noisy kids necessitated. There were times when my spine was tingling as the mystery surrounded Alex and her Friends. In the end I started to try and hurry through to the finish and walking from one side of the island to the other became a little laborious for me. I'm not 100% sure what happened on the island that night perhaps that's the intention or perhaps I missed something. All in all, this was a lovely change in pace from the type of games I play more often and certainly not a purchase or experience I have any regrets about.

Just finished playing through the campaign sometimes it was a bit **** but largely it was quite engaging. Broken up into 32 bit sized chunks you can chip away as and when to feel like it. The boss design is for me the strongest part of single player. It's no secret that the multi-player is where this game really shines

Just as good as the main campaign tight controls and some really challenging areas that took a lot of attempts to get past (mainly in the 2nd half) and the cherry on top is the charming little story.

What a great game that keeps you playing to do "just one more run". Goes hand in hand on Switch with the short play sessions. The loop of mining, discovery and upgrade is very satisfying and paced perfectly. I never felt like I had to grind to power up or that I was too weak to go on without upgrading. I've already resolved to be a launch day buyer when the inevitable Dig3 comes around

An excellent remake with really solid mechanics, every jump and slash missed was my fault. The flip of switch allowed me to swap between original 8/16 bit graphics and the lovely new visuals and the same trick with the sound and music too. A really good game but as a product of it's time the difficulty and the not having an indication of where to go to next pushes back a little bit more than we're accustomed these days.

I picked this game up just before I got a Nintendo Switch so only got about half way before Breath of the Wild took over. Months later I decided to return and after finding my feet with the mechanics and plot again I was re-hooked. This is great chaser to Breath of the Wild with enough familiar parts and enough differences in the more linear plot. A great entry to the series I especially like the extra dimension of puzzle solving that comes from going 2D on the walls. For me just the right degree of challenge to be satisfying when I figured it out but without ever getting to the point where I couldn't go on.

I heard so much about this before I finally took the plunge and was half expecting that the hype would ruin it for me. Starting out that was still my opinion as I struggled to get my head around the unlockable power ups, the plot and the controls. Then suddenly it clicked for me. It's the hardest game I've played in a long time and my ageing thumbs aren't as quick as they used to be so I had plenty of deaths but I know that they were all down to MY mistakes an not flaws to the game design or mechanics. Beating the final boss took me several attempts partially because of talent and perhaps partially because of the equipment I went in with and, as I struck the final blow a felt real exhilaration fist pumping the air but not taking my eyes off the screen. At that moment I was torn between hoping that there was not another form to come and also that it wasn't all over. Backlog means that I'm going to move on to another game before giving this another play through and collecting the feats, but this is genuinely a game I can't wait to come back to.

Starting out I thought this was just a simple platformer with no difficulty at all and after the first couple of worlds was expecting to blast through and ignore the collectibles. However, about half way through I started taking little detours for flowers and red coins and I'm not sure if it's credit to the came for drawing me in or my own compulsions getting the better of me. After that I also hit some genuinely tricky parts and levels in the last couple of worlds that took back a lot of the extra lives I'd breezed earlier on. With the credits rolling I can now say I'm seriously wishing up going for 100% against putting more time into the backlog I'm sat on.

Having never played a mainline Star Fox I was interested to see what the fuss is about. The controls are intuitive and its a good game (apart from the ground rover level) with a decent plot and great characters but there wasn't enough here to make me want to play through again to try the additional paths.
