2XKO2
Sep 21, 2026
The name of the game was the first domino of the game's failure. No way anyone with sense is picking that over League of Legends: Lethal Tempo. There's not a hint of reference to the IP with 2XKO. The gameplay is good, but an 8 character launch for a tag game by a major game company in 2026 is simply putrid. You'd have to release a character every month to get to 20 characters for the year since this game launched in January. The fact that this game didn't have Lee Sin, Riven, Sett, Akali, Samira, Zed, Kassadin, Annie, Lux, Garen, or Volibear is a headscratcher since they scream fighting game and/or franchise mascots. Then, Riot decides to kill the game in less than a year after the game has been in the works for like 8. If Highguard didn't exist, this would be the unanimous flop of the year. But since that exists, 2XKO has to settle for just flop of the year because let's be honest, Highguard was a random game that we found out about at The Game Awards just a month prior to its release.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses10
Sep 21, 2026
Three Houses expanded on the life Awakening breathed into this series by delivering it's most fleshed out cast and compelling story. The beauty of the game is that there's no weak link amongst each of the three stories. The introduction of batallions and ability to see the armies each unit makes the game seem more real, which is something we haven't seen since Radiant Dawn with its immense fodder units to control along with your main cast.

Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave10
Sep 21, 2026
Fortune's Weave is my favorite game of the year; I only see Ocarina of Time topping it for me, though can see GTA for others. The story and characters have range and are full of life.

Pokemon Legends: Z-A6
Sep 21, 2026
The game is a step down from Legends Arceus, but it's also overhated. The real-time battle is an interesting mechanic, though it did get repetitive.

This game has a surprising brilliance to it. Definitely the best comfy game of the year and a dark horse candidate for GOTY.
