Whilst Margot Robbie is an excellent Harley, if placed in a well written more like the comic in say a Gotham City Sirens. The rest of the movie is convoluted mess with shallow characters, no discernible plot. The costumes and fight scenes at the end are pretty bad and to be honest the new Harley cartoon on DC is leagues better than this.
Rushed, convoluted, retcon filled nonsense that disrespects the actual good star wars movies. The crawl alone could have been its own movie. There's no intrigue or setup to Palpatines return, he is just thrown in immediately, nothing is explained, he is just there next to his jar of pickled Snokes. Never mind the fact that him being alive completely negates Anakin's sacrifice and the journey undertaken in the first 6 movies. The characters are bland and boring, Rey is so overpowered its a joke and the new force powers break everything. Finn just runs around shouting REEEEYYY non stop. C3PO, Lando Calrissian and Chewbacca are the only standouts, R2D2 is relegated again to promote new merchandise droids. There is so much nonsense it would take ages to discuss... who was Palps banging??? How are all these ships out here in the middle of nowhere???? The end is hilariously bad, twilight mixed with divergent. And ends with nobody squatting in the name of the actual heroes of the previous movies. No wonder George Lucas didn't go to the premiere...
Awful... destroys the legacy of some of my favourite movies and replaces it was shallow copy of the story of T2 but with an androgynous protector, an implausible saviour of humanity and the worst, lamest, least threatening Terminator (with some trash effects) in any of the movies. RIP Skynet....
An excellent vision into the birth of the Joker. Shows the dark side of society and the pitfalls facing the modern world. Joaquin Phoenix is amazing in this movie! Ignore the access medias awful agenda driven reviews!!!!
Starts strongly but falls away near the end, nothing special but still strays too far from the actual comic book spider man, can we just have a story in New York please, with just spiderman?
Good effects, the monsters look great but far too much focus on the humans and not the monsters, still at least you see Godzilla for more than 2 seconds this time.
distinctly average, lots of wasted potential, poor american accents spotted with good acting, but storms power set is way too low and the villains are lame.
Pretty bad, best parts are the effects, authentic WW2 equipment and the french actress. Takes itself way too seriously but has no story, plot or drama to back it up. Should have gone full B movie and would have been more entertaining.
Bit of a let down, hammy villain with nonsensical scheme, too much cgi, all attack the villain one at a time... where is the hulk? hiding because he's upset. The movie is mostly held up by the characters people are attached to and the weight of the years and movies behind them. I dislike these comic book movies that get too large and have too much cgi.
I have probably rated this higher than I would have out of the weight of the stories that came before it and seeing the culmination of events, it seems like matters really have weight to them despite things being undone. A more serious movie that suits my taste better with a tone and drama to it not present so much before in the likes of Ragnarok and co. I have serious problems with the time travel nonsense of what and who can do what and I was majorly let down by the portrayal of Thor at seemingly the need to have Captain Mundane fill his role at the end and the treatment of Black Widow (despite Scarletts great acting I feel her character has been dealt with shabbily)
While I enjoyed the first one, this felt like too much of the same, constant predictable gun play over and over, although John remains a compelling character.
Larson is kind of wooden throughout and comes over as trying to be a cross between snarky downey junior and arnie in T2 but fails at both, convoluted story that's not very interesting due to the limited dull characters. Fury is the standout but cannot hold it up on his own and finishes with the standard cgi mess that MOS, Suicide squad and Apocalypse aren't forgiven for, so this shouldn't be either.
Amazing world building and action with a compelling lead let down by a weak script, clunky love interest and dialogue with such an abrupt ending that I felt like I had hit a wall.
An excellent x men movie that blends old and new. The cast do really well bringing the story to life and it does a lot to repair the damage from x3. Good set pieces and once again Logan, Magneto and Prof X carry the movie.
Awful climax to the x men trilogy, Phoenix storyline is botched and undoes all the good work from the other movies. Not fixed until days of future past.
Better than the first movie, adds to the story and develops the characters well. Good set pieces and Rebecca Romjin 'is' Mystique and is far better than J Lo
This is an avengers movie in disguise, zemos plan is nonsensical and relies on there being a VHS recorder at the base at the end. Too many characters and no stakes.
Probably my favourite movie from the newer marvel line, stands out as it does not drown itself in a sea of bathos and makes for a good political action thriller.
The best x men movie by far and the best of the marvel associated movies. Dark, serious and moody, this film can be enjoyed just as a movie and not just a superhero fan. A great cast and story that takes you through the story of Logans failings and X23s struggle.
While not quite as good as the first, this is still another great almost x men movie. Good characters and cameos keep the story entertaining and once again the simple message of the movie succeeds where all the end of the world superhero movies fail.
An entertaining romp through the x men franchise, Ryan Reynolds is a perfect Deadpool and the movie moves along at a good pace and while violent has a surprisingly touching message.
A decent thriller that some people are casting as a horror movie, whilst it contains some horror elements I did not find it all scary and instead found it a more compelling human tale of loss, life and acceptance.
Decent entry to the superhero genre, Wan gets the most out of the cast, amazing cgi and action. The movie hurtles along at breakneck speed and is a little over the top at times. It doesn't take itself too seriously and benefits from that unlike BvS.
Does not reach the heights of the first movie but another solid horror entry. Very atmospheric look at poltergeists and demons in north London. Good effects and a solid cast.
Horror is not my favourite genre so it really needs to make an impression on me to stand out. Moody, intense and relying on scary atmosphere instead of cheap jumps this film stands out as a recent success amidst a sea of mediocrity.
One of the best action movies I have seen recently, the action in Paris and London is top notch. I didn't think they could top Rogue nation but they did. The lengths Tom Cruise will go to, to sell you the action are amazing!
Yet another movie where the characters work well and the cast are good but the end of the movie completely falls apart with the terrible main villain and weak script.
The characters and their interactions are great but the story they are placed in is less than interesting. An awful cgi villain lets down lots of comic book movies and this suffers a similar ailment.
Whilst there is the odd great moment and Gal turns out to be an excellent wonder woman, the film is too dark and overbearing and doesn't frame the main premise for the movie very well along with the resolution which is just stupid. Doomsday wreckfest is also not very interesting.
A mixed bag, some excellent shots, the start on krypton is very sci fi. Engaging main villains but superman himself is dull and the end descends into destruction porn of the dullest order.
Mediocre action flick with shallow characters, there is no threat from mass cgi villains and unpopular opinion a crap main villain. Loki is stood up to by an elderly man and tossed about like a turd in the wind.
The BEST star trek movie, Kirk Vs Khan. After watching into darkness this seems like an oscar movie. The NOOOOO is earned based on the history of the characters and the whole thing plays out like a tense submarine movie in space.
This movie gets flack as being dull and while I can understand this point of view this more sci fi than over the top action. It reunites the crew and has great visuals and while there is no antagonist the reveal of what VGER is, I find really interesting.
