Game is true to previous ANNO and is satisfying to play. Thankfully they did away with the irritating building and moving of armies and replaced it with more fluid air craft.
Campaign, however, is frustratingly simple. HOURS are wasted with hand holding and slow teaching, literally 2 thirds into the game is when the tutorial stops. Perhaps this is because I have played other ANNO that i thought it was simple, but it got boring. No pirates to deal with either, (or any faction to fill the niche) which is disappointing. and for some reason they kept the annoying wheres waldo sidequests which i still hate, still alot of fun though

Crysis 26

Crysis 1 was great. too bad they dumbed this one down for consoles and ratcheted down the game play options. the open world is gone, things are now linear. they put up a facade of choices, but in the origional, you could attack a compound from north east west or south, crawl under the fence or blow it up, or jump it, or drive a vehicle through it. in this game you can : sneak in the designated sneaking tunnel/alley/lane, or gun it. Gone also is the fun of being a super soldier, I didn't feel that superiority I enjoyed in the first. The cloak had the fun **** out of it, speed mode has been replaced with normal sprint, which for some reason still drains energy. and strength mode is always on, however it is far weaker. armor mode is there, and can be toggled but it is also the most boring and standard of the powers we once had. So essentially you are a somewhat above average soldier with a cloak and extra health. as opposed to the Juggernaut we were in crysis1. and for some reason, they made the aliens into bipedal creatures, making them only slightly different than normal humans. Graphics are good, nothing on crysis1. game is passable, but why they took so many giant steps back is puzzling.

Probably the most disappointing game i have ever played. The creature editor is incredible fun, lots of designs, lots of creativity. Too bad 90% of it is purely cosmetic. doesn't matter where you place those horns, you will get +2 attack and so on. Later in the game, the creature's characteristics are funneled tighter again and again until you have been reduced to "warrior" "banker" or "diplomat" essentially. the space phase is incredibly dull once you realize the rest of the experience will be more of the same. go to planet, drop colony, come back later and collect resources. then use resources to do it again someplace else. I pre-ordered this game, Have not pre-ordered a game ever since. I have however visited alot of torrent sites since then

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II2

This was no fun at all. except the missions where you defend against waves. INSANE repetition of maps, you will play the same map at least 3 times with similar objectives. Losing men is meaningless, you just retreat and recharge. EVERY situation can be dealt with the same way, lead the enemy to a bottleneck. The AI is non existent, units simply charge at you, or wait until you get in their viewing range.
Massive step back in every respect except graphics.
this is disappointing after the previous DOW games. No buildings just removes an element from the game without adding a thing. Except superior graphics and destructible environments, no advancements and all removals of features.

fun, but absolutely no advancement whatsoever. who waits that many years to release a sequel and doesn't update ANYTHING? Not that I didn't enjoy the game, but aside from a few additions like weapon mods, and a few new enemies, its all secondhand from FO3. This game is supposedly bigger, and supposedly has more locations, but they are shallow locations. You find a location, and the only thing inside is some ammo and food. In FO3 there would have been more computers with stories, or NPC's giving insight, or storytelling in some fashion but here its just bland buildings with some random stuff inside them. One addition I like is the factions system, but its horribly balanced in that choosing one factions gives ALOT of quests and stuff to do, choosing the other has like 5 quests and nothing else, so for the sake of FUN you choose the one faction. Just finished all the DLC, only one worth it was OWB, the other were crap.

good stuff, the graphics at a distance, racing is fun, enemies fun to fight, great story premise.
Bad, lack of giving a damn for pc players, anticlimactic endings to every confrontation especially the ending, ill executed story line, and things seem to end way before they should.
No graphics settings, except brightness. Many graphics problems due to this, I tried using the help forums but it made my save game un-usable so i just tried unsuccessfully to ignore the awful texture popping. This game seems big for awhile until you realize its all empty space except for the, say 3-5extra locations you can explore. tho the game seems to think its much bigger, it tells you to explore and find things, all you find are enemies and ammunition, so its a moot search. Worst ending to a game ive seen in a long time, incredibly un-satisfying, there isnt even a boss or challenging situation it just ENDS with a few waves of identical mild enemies. many of the quests you do seem pointless, especially in the last area. you complete some preliminary quests, which led me to believe there would be alot more, but then they just stop and you are told to go fight the final battle for reasons not clearly defined.

Terrible. complete waste of time. Quests are repetitive, and usually amount to "go here and destroy a Hut" I got to level five and cant say anything has been the least bit satisfying. Almost no strategy like in previous **** game actually wont let you build certain unit types unless you purchase premium content. This was marketed as a FREE GAME, the premium content should have some perks yes, but PERKS, not core game play elements. Its like giving a FPS away for free but you have to pay 60$ to use anything bigger than a pistol. It even goes as far as to "reward" you with gear that you cannot utilize unless you pay Microsoft real money. This game is a pure Cash-grab, they don't care how fun it is. but i guess there are those who will actually pay.

Game is awesome, Narrative is the best part. Story kept me trying to figure out exactly what happened constantly. Combat is fun with the many different weapons to use. plenty of strategies to choose from, special abilities and so on. Great length, I was expecting much shorter, but I was pleasantly surprised. I didn't not think a game of this type could last that long without becoming a chore, but It was really great to the end. I would only add one thing, optional missions. and not just those proving grounds ones, some optional missions to earn resources. Playing the same Reflections got a bit tedious. Also, leveling up took a bit too much time, but then i suppose it would have been too easy.

Horribly disappointing. I saw the new graphics and hoped it would be like the original only updated and advancing the story/new units/concepts. (age of empires approach). What I got was a simplified version with less concepts, strategies, and units. in trying to reach those who found the game too complicated, they made it outright dumb. small maps, small armies, and a TERRIBLE TERRIBLE campaign. most fights were rock-paper-scissors style, which was left behind for good reason with most developers. Experimental units are no longer awesome, they are now slightly impressive. That all being said, everything does look way cooler with graphics upgrade, but then you get to see how bad they made the game clearer...
hopefully they make a third but learn from this mistake.

Fallout: New Vegas - Old World Blues8
Jul 29, 2011
Definitely best NV DLC. Fallout remembered it's true nature and stopped trying to be too serious too often and made a dlc based on insane brains in tanks. World is full of challenging enemies, and the premise of romping around a secret tech base inside of a mountain is great. New weapons are funny, useful and cool.
Now the negatives, the enemies are SUPER perceptive. I had sneak of 100, wearing a stealth suit. I have ninja perk, and i still could not sneak up on people, ever. for sneak crits, i HAD to use a medium range weapon at least, unless I got real lucky. melee crits (the most fun and satisfying) were impossible. Perhaps this was a glitch, since if they detect you, they will never go back to being safe mode, only "caution".
Other negative, most of the locations are too shallow, go into a base, and its literally a single room with a couple robots and some ammo. I was expecting LOTS of computers with cools stories, background, and other cool stuff. Half done experiments maybe, experimental robots/bio-creatures. they didn't deliver. Though the rare story it did fill in was interesting. When i finished it i still had the "thats it?" feeling. Too few side quests and linear story.
Still a great DLC, but I feel it could have been much better with added depth.

Fallout: New Vegas - Honest Hearts3

Very boring dlc, very bland, and it has nothing we haven't seen before in other fallouts. The only good thing is the scenery, which is really well done except for some confusing navigating. aside from that, it lasts about 2 or 3 hours and has a very straightforward plot that takes advantage of none of it's elements. The burned man is here, but aside from his bandages, and a few spoken lines, hes unremarkable. No legion assassin hunting him, or NCR rangers, or any other subplot you could think of (and there are many), to be seen. there only two tribes, and they are really just the same one but in two different camps. the side quests take literally 5 minutes apiece to complete, and there is almost no new gear to be had. whats more, like the Dead Money DLC, it has absolutely no bearing on the Mojave. but then again thats true of all FO/DLC
