Wow, this was great! I was pleasantly surprised, because I am not a big fan of romances and these dramatically slow and depressing films about relationships. But this film is definitely an exception, it did not make me vomit, not for a single moment. In fact, I think I love this film. The scenery is beautiful and it creates a perfect atmosphere, so does the music composed by Alexandre Desplat. The french song at the end of the film is especially beautiful and fitting. It's a very good period drama and realistic in every way. Both Edward Norton and Naomi Watts are superb. The pacing is quite perfect. All in all, a great film!
I can't say this film is not funny, it has some quite entertaining parts. It's not a bad film at all, but it's kind of messy, the plot just jumps from one character to another and nothing gets resolved. Plus a lot of characters are extremely stupid, annoyingly so. The part that John Malkovich played is an exception, his character is kind of a jerk, but the only person with a brain. Brad Pitt's character is extremely idiotic, but he is also an exception, because Pitt managed to make him hilarious.
This action film is quite good, a bit slow at certain parts, but it is interesting to find out what's really going on. The ending has a good enough twist.
This film has a good plot, although I think the so-called twist is quite obvious and the love story is a bit forced. I should mention that the sets are beautiful.
A well-made film that raises awareness of the harmful nature of hatred and the consequences of racism. (Note: It's violent, so I would not recommend it to all audiences.)
This film is great! Edward Norton is outstanding and the plot is also pretty good. Although the twist is a bit predictable, I still think it's very good.
Entertaining and fast-paced with some fun tricks and illusions. I absolutely enjoyed this film. Although some of the "twists" couldn't fool me, I still liked it.
I think this film is the best from the trilogy. That's probably because all the loose ends are finally tied up. It's thrilling, clever and full of action.
This is a really good crime thriller. Kevin Spacey acts splendidly. Although the twist could be suspected at the beginning of the film, as the movie proceeds the viewer can't be sure any longer and as a result the ending is great.
Another sequel that is just as good as the previous two films. The formula is the same, it's witty, fun and thoroughly entertaining from start to finish.
I actually liked this film more than the original version from 1990. I don't think it's a problem that it diverged more from the original story and nobody travelled to Mars. The older film also made changes to Philip K. **** short story, they had to because it would be too short for a film and there wouldn't be any action. I think it's much better that they stayed on Earth instead of travelling to Mars and they showed a more up to date vision of the future with much of the land underwater. It's also an improvement that the protagonist's girlfriend is not a **** this time, which I hated in the original. The action scenes are good. The ambiguity is still somewhat in the story ,although the ending makes a conclusion.
I love Philip K. **** stories and their movie adaptations. This one might not be my favourite,it's a bit too centered around romance for my taste, but it's a good film.
I am surprised by the number of bad reviews. I've found this sequel just as much fun as the first film. In fact I think I've enjoyed it even more. It's very witty, I laughed a lot. Plus Tess Ocean is not as useless and boring like in the first film. SPOILER: In the end the story of the Night Fox about how he managed to steal the egg is quite ridiculous, I must say. The father-daughter reunion is a similarly laughable cliché.
Very funny and entertaining from start to finish! It's filled with plot twists and witty jokes. Despite the large number of characters, they all have unique personalities and as a result their interactions are humorous.
It's an interesting sci-fi with original ideas and I can't say I don't like it, but I think it's very unrealistic that they chose kids to fight a war. They start to train them as kids, sure, but promotions don't actually work this way. They would get promoted after years and finally get to command an army when they are in their late-twenties or thirties.
I do not think this is as good as most people say. Gary Oldman is especially good and there are many undoubtedly funny parts but other times it's just plain annoying instead of funny. The ending is dripping with romance and Chris Tucker is unbearable.
Wow, this is a great film. They used a very interesting way of telling the story and the mystery only gets unravelled at the very end. It's a very good twist, I liked it.
Nolan's films can never disappoint. This is not my favourite of them, but the usual clever twist is there. And it is unexpected. The story is entertaining from start to finish.
It's an interesting movie, but I really wanted to know what happens when they finally get to Tigerland and well, I was left disappointed. Otherwise it's good.
Worse than the previous attempt to make a good film about these 4 characters. It could have been a lot better, the cast is good, but the script is really dumb and the whole damn film is an origin story, like seriously almost nothing happens throughout the entire film and when finally there is some action, even that is very lame and rushed. Also the characters have no personality at all, the whole film is basically their introduction, yet they couldn't introduce them properly or give them some personality traits. All we know is that one of them is clever, the other one is his friend, the third one likes cars and the forth one is a woman and she is clever. That's it. Clever guy, clever woman, friend guy, car guy.
A decent biographical film with good performances, but the story is just simply slow and boring. Also this relationship that is basically the center of the film was totally implausible. However the music is nice.
Wow, this is a really good movie, great performances by Haley Joel Osment and Bruce Willis and a very good twist. Although my first thoughts at the beginning of the film could have predicted it, but I was still surprised. It really is an unexpected turn, while also well hinted.
A good war movie. I wasn't even annoyed by the love story, it seemed a pretty accurate portrayal of snipers, the sets were also all realistic. Sometimes it slows down a little, but there are enough ideas and twist to keep the viewer entertained.
This film is great. Cate Blanchett as Queen Elizabeth is very good, the costumes and the sets are beautiful. The story is good, full of political intrigues, although with a few annoying clichés as well. All in all, an entertaining film.
This is just as great as the first one. Cate Blanchett is superb, the costumes are stunning. (The story is just fine,I guess.) I don't understand why this film got much worse reviews compared to the first one.
It's a very interesting dystopian idea of the future. Although I must say the concept is very unrealistic, first of all surviving on a train like this wouldn't actually be possible (those railways would need maintenance). There are also other illogical things in the plot ,but I do not want to list everything. Still, the mistakes are forgivable. Visually the style is spectacular, (but violent, so I wouldn't recommend it to people who have a problem with that) and the cast is also great. The ending is kind-of dumb in my opinion, however the movie as a whole is quite original and the social criticism is well-applied through the sections of the train.
A good performance from Cate Blanchett and an interesting character. The rest of the characters are also well developed. The ending is a bit boring, though.
Wow, this film is bad! The acting is terrible, the costumes are quite ridiculous and there are multiple dumb things in the plot. They had thousands of ideas, it's quite original in fact , but it's so badly executed, it could have been very interesting, but as a whole it's ruined. Also the main character is extremely stupid, she never realizes when someone lies to her, manipulates her, she is in constant need of saving etc. The script is horrible as well.
This film is seriously overrated. I understand that people enjoyed the action scenes, I enjoyed them too, there are some very cool scenes in this movie. The character of Furiosa is cool as well. However the plot is bad, I knew what they are gonna find at the end of their road ,it was predictable. The whole movie is just a long car ride and I was bored. Good action scenes are no excuse for the lack of story.
This is a nice, cute movie that your kids might enjoy, nothing is wrong with it, but it just does not have anything that could entertain me. It's not funny enough, the songs are not good enough, the story is not interesting enough. It's mediocre.
Wow, this movies is bad! I hoped the action and visuals could maybe save it, but no. It might entertain you, don't get me wrong, it's not that horrible as some say, but it's still the worst superhero movie of the last 10 years. Also I like the colour green, but this much green gloving is a bit much, it looks really stupid.
As much I loved Monsterc Inc. , I couldn't enjoy this prequel at all. Maybe it's entertaining for babies, I don't know, but the plot was non-existent and I could not find a single truly funny joke either. It's one of those movie which were obviously only created because the first one was a success and they wanted to make more money despite the fact that they did not have a single idea for a new movie. Don't watch this just because you liked the first one, you probably won't like this one.
This movie is extremely overrated considering how much praise it gets and how badly it ****!! The only good thing about this film is that it looks good , but that's it. Basically if I wanted to see this I could have watched a documentary about space and I would have seen the same, except in that case I would also have learnt some facts. This film has no plot, nothing happens, Sandra Bullock floats in space, pushes buttons and talks to herself. Her character is an utterly incompetent astronaut, in fact she is also an incompetent human being because she does not have survival instinct. She is totally unrealistic. George Clooney's character has even less survival instinct, in fact he is probably the most ridiculously unrealistic character I have ever seen in a movie. (At least as far as I can remember.) This movie is terribly boring, its 90 minutes felt more like 180 minutes. Don't watch this! I can't possibly recommend it to anyone. [SPOILER:] I really hoped that some wild animal eats her in the end, like a crocodile in the water or something. It would have been so hilarious and ironic. She survived space but now surprise.. dies on Earth because she has landed at an unfortunate location in the wild. That would have been so nice! LMAO
I like Woody Allen's work, this might not be his best film, but it's still pretty good. The characters are what move this film forward, they are very well-written, the two brothers both have a bit of good and a bit of bad. I was interested in seeing how things turn out for them in the end. Unfortunately the ending was very rushed and I did not like it very much. I didn't expect anything because I did not know what to expect, it wasn't easily predictable, still... I felt let down by that ending.
Very good film! I absolutely did not see what was coming in the end. When the twist is revealed it all makes sense, the signs were there, yet the viewer's mind chooses to ignore it, just like the protagonist's mind, that's why it's a genius twist. Perfect ending! The music is also great, it creates the tone for the movie. Some people say that you should watch this movie more than once, I would disagree with that statement. If you pay attention, you'll remember all the details in the end and it will combine in your head. Watching it for a second time however, I didn't find it thrilling anymore, because I knew everything and it just wasn't interesting. I note that I would not recommend this film to those with weak nerves. Some people I talked to told me they found it very violent, distressing and depressing. Well, it is set in a mental institute for the criminally insane...
I absolutely love this movie! It's full of jokes,it poke fun at people's stupidity, especially religious groups. I don't understand why Brian's mother is played by a male actor, but I don't mind it at all, because he was hilarious. Everything in this movie is hilarious and perfect, my favourite part is where they catch Brian writing graffiti on the wall.
It's an interesting concept and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole movie, but I still have to mention a few negative things. First of all I think it was predictable, I knew how it was gonna end, which is not how they should have ended it, I think. The romantic plot didn't make any sense and I was annoyed that they included it,I think it was completely unnecessary.
Fascinatingly interesting! This film is beautiful and a bit sad. Haley Joel Osment's acting is simply brilliant, it's very easy to believe that the kid is an android, not a human. Yet his dreams and emotions are very human. A contradictory character very well portrayed!
I think this film is very funny. Only sometimes annoyingly exaggerated, all in all quite good. It is similar in style to 'The Hangover' except it's better, not gross and annoyingly stupid. (I know people don't agree with me, but I dislike 'The Hangover' very much.)
This film is not bad, but I found it too sentimental sometimes. Also it doesn't make any sense why Andrew, the robot is different from other robots and why he feels. Spielberg's "A.I.-Artificial Intelligence" is based on a similar idea but is much better done and makes much more sense.
This movie has some really funny moments and all in all I would say I quite enjoyed it. Yet I am not sure why but sometimes I was bored, that's why I don't give a score of 7.
I absolutely adore this movie! I think it's a masterpiece and it's quite sad that many viewers, critics do not see how well done it is. It combines multiple beautiful stories and is full of meaning. You might need some sort of life experience and/or open-mindedness to fully understand and appreciate it, but it's though-provoking to every generation. In addition the cinematography is beautiful, the music is also great and they create a perfect atmosphere. The editing is also well done,so it's not difficult to follow the multiple stories.
I have not read the book and I didn't know what to expect, but I liked this movie. I think it took a somewhat different approach than what we usually see in war films.
First of all, I want to say that I have not read the book, so my opinion is based only on this film. I am usually not a big fan of this supernatural "the dead can't rest, they are haunting etc." subject in films, but I quite liked this one, because I think they did a good job. The atmosphere is spooky, so much that it's not a problem that in fact little happens. I also loved that old house, they choose beautiful old furnitures, the whole thing looked really good and scary at the same time.
I couldn't say this adaptation is not true to it's source material. (Which I absolutely love.) The plot is the same, really, everything is probably the same, yet somehow it failed to capture the spirit and the meaning behind the story. I would rather recommend the 2013 adaptation of The Great Gatsby.
Well, this film does have some undeniably funny moments. However that does not change the fact that the concept behind it is completely ridiculous, the special effects are also quite bad.
