I'll admit, I didn't think much of this game at first because I'm not a big fan of retro visuals. It was offered as a free game on ****, so I supposed it wouldn't hurt if I gave it a try. I was really surprised at how tight this game is. The visuals are very good, and the soundtrack is superb. Characters actually have their own identity, something that is usually missing in games like this. Dynamic environments, platforming elements, and story development are weaved together pretty well. To be honest, I actually prefer this game over Cave Story. If you're looking for a pleasant surprise, I highly recommend this game.

Very nice and relatively well-executed game concept. The adventure section lacked certain characteristics to really make Recettear really stand out but as a whole, the gameplay is solid, fun, and addictive.

This game brings back the key components of classic ARPGs and gives them a good polish. The combat is fast-paced, heavy, and seamless. Character customization and the loot mechanics are also very well done. Coupled with the ability to support mods, this game is gearing up to be one of the most versatile games of this generation.
