A very disappointing return that features that cursed trope, "kid who does stupid things." With the previous entries offering something of more grounded characters, it was truly sad to see this films characters have no more concern for logic than the infected. It has little to say other than a sequel bait ending scene that is so horrifically out of place it made its inclusion feel like a mockery.

By trying to do so much, they end up doing nothing of worth. It's fun, but ultimately forgettable.

There's something more convincing in the British vocalisation compared to the usual American accent. It feel much more real, coupled with the fact that these are older blokes as opposed to the teen fodder that usually gets offed in American productions. Setting a haunted forest premise in picturesque Sweden is such a good idea it seems absurd that this is not done more often. After all, those fairy tales that have terrified children for generations have their roots in European forests, so it is fitting that this works so well. It is tense, terrifying, and truly beautiful, offering the barest of hints to begin with and developing further as the tale progresses. A must see.

There is some definite source of suspense, here, and a plot worthy of exploring, but the story comes secondary to the visceral torture-porn aspect that is far too common in movies of this ilk. Enjoyable for what it is, but you won't need to dig too far in to it.

I'm a fan of the dinner party cum psychological thriller trope, and this does not disappoint. The deeper and deeper one goes, the more that is revealed about Will's background, and the more the suspense builds and builds.

Visually incredible. The Story did drag a bit, but the characters were fully realised, and the was never a dull moment.

Black Panther2

An absolutely empty, vacuous, flat entry in the MCU, which displays nothing of interest on plot or character development.

Excellent, depth of emotion, brilliant acting. Terrifyingly real. Cannot be missed.
