The single worst computer game I have ever played, which is a bold but accurate statement. Forsaken Gods was made by an Indian games company after they bought the rights to the Gothic franchise, so don't blame the original Gothic developers for how bad this steaming pile turned out. It completely ignores all of the Gothic series lore, taking the story to places it should never have gone. I would not recommend playing this game even if someone paid you to do it.

Arcania isn't a bad game. It's just not a particularly outstanding game. Being part of the Gothic series (or not, as the 'Gothic 4' brand was taken off it at one point) comes with certain expectations that this game simply doesn't live up to. However if you've never played a Gothic game before and aren't familiar with the series, then Arcania is quite playable. Even if you have played the other Gothic games, this game is far from the worst in the series (Gothic 3: Forsaken Gods takes that title).
