Syberia: The World Before10

Rip Benoit, ci mancherai <3

Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition10

Crimson Desert10

I think Crimson Desert is the hardest game to review because of the sheer number of positive and negative aspects that are all jumbled together, and I'll update my review once I've finished the game. I'll start by saying that I haven't been this hyped for a game since the release of GTA 4, and I missed that feeling. The game remains a visual marvel even on a base PS5, but it loses texture and rendering quality at a distance, even on the quality setting. Everything else is a mess of disparate aspects. I won't list them because there are too many and you'll find info from others, but I'll get to the heart of the matter: Crimson Desert was born as a copy of many other games. They took pieces, mechanics, and concepts from other games and mixed them all together, creating a fairly solid foundation of elements that manage to work and create satisfaction in discovering everything the game has to offer. All this topped off with a HUGE map that, at 60 hours in, I'm still in the starting area of Hernand (which for me is a very positive thing, but it's damaged when I consider that most of the things I'm doing, aside from exploring, are boring side missions that show you the game mechanics). The obvious problem is that the game tries to have a soul and struggles to immerse you because it doesn't have a real soul. You can only notice the copying from other games, and it creates a heaviness and partial boredom that makes itself felt. It tries to give you a story, but the characters have no real emotional connection and are more placed there simply to create a quest to do. The game also suffers from a serious lack of clarity on the part of the developers regarding how they wanted the game to be, such as an inventory that used to be based on item weight, but then changed to slots, which, however, were too few and had to be increased. The game is full of these structural oversights in the gameplay (excessive stamina consumption has now been improved, mounts used to be just horses, now they've added more, the flight controls were too clunky and have been improved, some puzzles were extremely simple, others needlessly tedious, they added a stash for items that they hadn't even conceived of before, etc.), which demonstrates an inability to create a solid gameplay foundation. That said, the developers immediately began fixing and patching several issues that users complain about, demonstrating that they listen and work to improve everything, which is no small feat these days. Ultimately, Crimson Desert, despite its problems, manages to truly captivate you and give you a sense of continuous satisfaction through discoveries, satisfying combat, and the evolution of the world. That said, I want to address the real issue we should be addressing. In a world where gatcha games continue to emerge and attempt to fleece players with countless microtransactions, a Korean company like Pearl Abyss has taken the necessary step: creating a game that, while copying other games (as gatcha games often do), doesn't have all those leeching mechanics and aims to give players a clean experience at full price. This is no small feat: Crimson Desert is not only a huge open world that will set a new bar for the scale and graphical beauty of game worlds, but it also sends a message to all those Asian developers who create money-draining experiences with gatcha games, demonstrating that we, as players, don't want those mechanics but a real game. It's true that Pearl Abyss has said it will add an online mode and that they'll be modeling what GTA 5 did with the online version, which obviously also brought extreme monetization. However, I hope that the single-player CD experience will be tainted by a future multiplayer addition. It will demonstrate that if you want real video games, you can still make them.I'll conclude by saying that you definitely won't be disappointed by Crimson Desert (if you have a lot of hours to play it), but it will take some time for them to fix it and make the gaming experience fully enjoyable.
Edit: the developers are fixing and improving the game with a lots of new feature and fixing the performance on console, it still a game full of doub in some aspect but it is able to give you feeling and immersion that very few game can do. 10/10

no, totally no. the game itself it's ok, a nice fps but no. It is invaded by cheaters on pc, in EVERY MATCH! i will not say how i am sure of it, it doesn't need, you can see all the strange players and frustrating play you have in every match and every mode, most on redsec and deathmatch team/squad you can see it. and EA does nothing, it doesn't care and stays quiet, it doesn't say anything about bans from the beta and it doesn't fix the servers, it's doing so many profit numbers as it wanted them. Well done. not to mention the netcode which here in Europe is pure constant rubbish of lag and unrecorded hits. they wanted to make the new cod taking all the rubbish from it with them? well, they succeeded, everyone are happy and they are happy. probably half the community cheats in this game, stay far away from it
