PlanetSide 2

I have written a different review about a year ago but since then the game got faster, better, and much more balanced. Planetside 2 is now the dream of OC gaming at it's finest hundreds of players on lag free servers, inside a real war run all by people, not AI. It. Also runs much better, and I am now able to Max the game on my mid range rig (core i5 650@4.5ghz, MSI gtx 760@1280mhz, 6750mem and 8gb 1333mhz RAM). It only has 1 downside, and that is you need at least 4gb of RAM. If you have a fair PC you will be able to enjoy planetside at it's full potential. Also, I haven't paid a dollar and I never felt underpowered- it's not pay to win. I highly recommend.

Payday: The Heist

PAYDAY The Heist is a brilliant game, that more than justifies its low price point. hopping in with friends or with other people online is very intense and challenging, not to mention incredibly fun. Besides pretty poor anti-aliasing (which can be overridden very easily from all cards, BTW), graphics are good and enviroments are detailed. Weapons and missions are a bit short, and yet it does little harm to this brilliant game. I suggest picking it up on a sale (it goes on sale rather often), especially with buddies, or waiting for the upcoming sequel. Worth every penny.

Borderlands 2 is with no doubt one of the most unique titles I've seen. It is very easy to get **** into the world the game takes place in, as if you're there yourself. The whole way the game runs is unusual but very special and interesting. Unlike many modern games you only have to stick to a basic, far from reach objective, but no one tells you how, or when. It gives you freedom there are so many ways to get to the objective they set you, so many tactics each with it pros and cons and so many places and mini-quests to go through. Graphics are very nice and not too demanding (runs max on my mid-level PC), characters are clever and funny, AI gets increasingly good as the time passes and they actually pose a threat. Borderlands 2 is also stuffed with humor that will make anyone laugh. It runs smoothly and bug free. For those with creative thinking and a bit of patience, Borderlands 2 is one of the best games around.

CS: GO is a simple, fun shooter. Some people may find it lacking but it brings out the core of FPS games. It is a big improvement over Source Valve updated the graphics (could've been better, though, but nice) and added more guns and maps but the content from older games from the series is untouched. Servers are fast to find by auto match and games are balanced. Unlike in CS: source, players have reasonable skill levels and not insane aim bot- like abilities, meaning you can play a game without being surprised and shot right away. Bottom line a great shooter and a great remake, that in my opinion provide everything the AAA titles provide, but for a much cheaper price. One of the best purchases I've ever made and discount are often.

ArmA II: Operation Arrowhead

ArmA II: OA (and ArmA II as well) is a very special game. On the one hand it's filled with bizarre bugs, lacking animation and strange AI. But on the other hand if you manage to overcome these it's amazing. Massive scale warfare that REQUIRES YOU TO THINK, unlike many shooters these days. It is a simulator therefore as real as possible, so don't expect it to be easy. Hop in with a server or friends, learn a bit on the mission editor and you'll get an experience no other game can deliver. Looking forward to ArmA III.

Great game. Simple and fun. No bugs, no funny business, and nothing over/underpowered. For those who enjoy the simple games it's loads of fun. For those who don't enjoy the simple games, it's still loads of fun. for 9.99 just go buy it.

Garry's Mod

I've been playing it for 3 years and it's awesome. Now with the Steam Workshop involved addons which are the heart of the game are easy to use and much less buggy. Developers update and patch regularly. It breaks quite often but it's fixed very quickly. You can do pretty much everything on Garry's Mod, so, whether you're one of the people who came to blow up stuff with friends or the serious builders/roleplayers you'll enjoy. Bring a few friends and you'll never let go.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2

I bought this game after EA's stupid Origin failed to let me buy battlefield 3, so I took the latest battlefield on Steam. Even though I have no background on the battlefield series I do play some real games and I used to Play CoD, and leaning on experience in both types I can say this game is in the sweet spot. Not too real, not too arcade-ish. Team play is the best I have ever found. 32 players are enough to fill a battlefield but teams are not too large so you can get to know the players. Solid core gameplay and servers with rules that prevent annoying kid's tactics (like way too many recons, camping and ****) provide awesome gameplay experience. Not to mention well balanced weapons and vehicles. Graphics are good, not amazing (textures are rather low-res), and yet you'll have so much fun playing it you wouldn't notice. Let's hope next BF is BC3... of course this is a MULTIPLAYER review. Singleplayer was boring and the story is messy and confusing. Got bored after 2 hours (and I'm rather patient.) bottom line worth those 30$. Go buy it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II

As a (now former) CoD fan, I didn't enjoy BO II. The story was cheesy and unreasonable (it was very cinematic, though), and when you reach a moment when you can just RUN through the levels on any difficulty you can say the series reached a new low. Not to mention the MP is filled with idiots. Some of the weapons are overpowered, hackers can be found rather often, players are dumb and the killstreaks are extremeley overpowered. The zombies did introduce some new mechanics, but it takes the focus of the basic goal of surviving, so I enjoyed it much less. As a big fan of the first Black Ops, Don't bother buying it. Save those 60$.

Before Portal I've never played any puzzle game before, but I saw people love it so I caught it on sale. Portal 2 is amazing, funny, long and interesting. The plot was interesting and unpredictable and the graphics proved that the Source engine can also be pretty. Now with the workshop evolved too, Portal 2 is simply a stream of endless fun. I highly recommend.

The game itself isn't too bad, and worth it if you can get it on sale. But for the PC, it is the poorest port I've ever seen. I pre-purchased the game and I was NEVER able to finish the campaign (it crashes) or even GO ONLINE. it's been about two years and I am STILL trying to get help from Ubisoft but they just start repeating answers at some point. The graphics are low and very demanding and the game often crashes when in a party. Don't even think about it. With no doubt the worst purchase i've ever made. It is a shame people still buy it. I gave it 1 because it could have been nice if it wasn't for all the trouble I've been going through just trying to play it.
