Resident Evil 4: Separate Ways9
Mar 7, 2026
I didn't play the original, but this remake is excellent. Ada brings that over-the-top to an already exaggerated action. She's stylish, confident and great fun to play.

Resident Evil 49
Mar 2, 2026
As excellent as the original, with gorgeous graphics, better controls and (for me) much harder and scarier. It took me over a year to finish it, but everytime I mustered the courage to press through, I had a blast.

Bright Memory5
Mar 2, 2026
A stylish mish-mash of what you would nowadays call an "AI-slop". A few good ideas marred by bugs, repetitive enemies, janky animations and a generic feeling. Pass.

Black Mirror II: Reigning Evil6
Mar 2, 2026
The beginning of the game is interesting, the dialogues are meaningful and the mystery makes you want to find out what happens next. Unfortunately, from the visit to the Black Mirror castle, everything goes from ten to five and the ending is a bunch of nonsense, forced puzzles and the story resolution is one animation without explanations, which left a bad taste in my mouth. Just like the first game. Too bad.

The House of Da Vinci 37
Mar 2, 2026
This installment has better graphics, characters that move and speak to you, but the puzzles are obtuse, make almost no sense and without the included hint system I would be stuck multiple times. Overall pretty unintuitive.

Terminator 2D: NO FATE6
Mar 2, 2026
It would have been a banger in the 90's, but being short as it is and considering the price, it's just not worth it. The difficulty is unbalanced and overall it's a forgettable experience.

Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef5
Mar 2, 2026
Funny and beautiful game with repetitive combat, awful bosses, weak guns, slow reloads, hordes of bullet-spongy enemies and as a cherry on top, it crashes every hour and forces you to replay the whole level again.

Final Vendetta7
Mar 2, 2026
The game is extremely short and very difficult compared to other titles in the genre. €25 for 40 minutes of playtime and only 3 characters? Are you kidding me? I only recommend it on sale.
Apart from the price tag, the game is excellent and reminds me of my favorite Streets of Rage 2/3.

The Black Mirror7
Mar 2, 2026
An above average mysterious adventure game with a very intriguing story that falls somewhat flat in the end. The puzzles are mostly logical, but marred by incessant pixel-hunting, items/places in plain sight becoming usable only after enough story development and some annoying things like slow movement of the main character, slow animations overall, no sense of guidance and the possibility of the main character dying. As the game nears the end, these things worsen and become a real nuisance. The last few puzzles were just annoing and more of a trial-and-error kind of type. Although the graphics have aged poorly, the game still has a dark charm and the voiceover is mostly great.

Kathy Rain 2: Soothsayer9
Mar 2, 2026
An excellent detective adventure game. Beautiful pixel art graphics, great voice acting, balanced difficulty and interesting and logical puzzles. Again, I liked the computer hacking the most.
Although "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis" is still the best adventure game for me, this one probably came closest.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception7

With some of the best set-pieces the series offers, this is a wildly inconsistent and often frustrating sequel. As part of the Nathan Drake Collection it's a bit buggy.

Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun - Forges of Corruption6

Blades of Fire9
Mar 2, 2026
The combat system alone is the best thing in years. The game is beautiful, it has a gripping story, the background is profound and well written and the game is sprinkled with frequent bouts of frustration - be it maze-like level design, enemy attack patterns or the overall spikes in difficulty.
Still my favorite game of 2025.

An impressive modernization of an old arcade game from the 80s. Looks great, controls great and the metroidvania elements add to the fun.

The Star Named EOS7
Oct 21, 2025
A beautiful, nostalgic and emotional adventure game from the first person perspective, full of cleverly hidden puzzles in a hand-painted world. The absence of hints makes it quite a challenge to crack, but once you understand the puzzle design, it gets going and you're done in about 3 hours.

Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound8
Oct 21, 2025
The game is awesome, but a little buggy. I had to restart the later levels a few times because the game would be just stuck in some state - the character would not appear after a cutscene, Kumori would not spawn during the last bossfight and the like. Considering the very high difficulty this just **** big time. I had to lower the difficulty after that and the last 3 levels would be just insane without the Accessibility options. Such a shame.

The high difficulty makes it less enjoyable than the vanilla Elden Ring, but as a whole it's still an incredibly polished and well thought-out expansion.

The Abandoned Planet6
Oct 21, 2025
The game has a beautiful visual style (pixelart) and pleasant music. The voiceover is "passable". The puzzles vary from ridiculously simple to copying clues found in the world. Most of them are filler. The game has a strange plot and an even stranger ending. It may be useful that it only takes about 4-5 hours. It fulfilled its purpose as a modern substitute for Myst/Riven, but somehow it does not reach the qualities of either of them.

Broken Sword - Shadow of the Templars: Reforged7
Oct 6, 2024
Reforged - lacking improvements of the Director's Cut, but sporting very nice remade graphics and animations. Shame about the poor sound quality and lack of environmental sound or music for most of the time. The game is often completely silent which is not fitting for a 2024 game.

Still Wakes the Deep8
Oct 6, 2024
Very atmospheric, but lacking more meaningful gameplay. A walking simulator in the veins of Amnesia or SOMA, which isn't a bad thing. With a few quicktime events and chase sequences sprinkled here and there. Terrific voice acting, but I could barely understand those scottish c*nts. Excellent sound design and portrayal of the sea and weather elements, much like the first Bioshock did in 2007 or Hydrophobia in 2010.

Riven6
Jul 2, 2024
This is the most cryptic puzzle game I've ever played. Myst is a cakewalk compared to this. I didn't understand half of the story and I completely missed the point of it. The game loves to waste your time - waiting for the all the animations to complete - be it climbing, riding trams, submarines, mining carts, elevators, opening rotating domes - a large percentage of the game is just waiting for the same thing to happen as slow as possible. I'll never play this again.

About 25 years ago, I finished Gobliiins at least 5 times and started Gobliins 2. I had a rough time and didn't finish it. Then I played Goblins 3 and it became my favorite. I never looked back. Until today (2023). I used a guide and finished G2. It almost wasn't worth it. The puzzles are nonsensical and the ending just doesn't exist. Nevertheless I adore the artstyle and love the humor.
