Send Help promises a tense, darkly comedic battle of wits between Rachel McAdams and Dylan O’Brien after a plane crash strands them on a remote island. Instead, it delivers a bloated, predictable slog that wastes its talented cast and Sam Raimi’s direction. The script leans hard on tired workplace tropes and forced tension that never lands. What should feel like a claustrophobic psychological showdown turns into repetitive bickering and convenient plot twists that feel phoned in. McAdams tries her best, but even she can’t save the wooden dialogue or the film’s bizarre tonal whiplash between horror and lame comedy. By the third act, I was the one screaming “Send Help!”—to get me out of the theater. Skip this one and watch something actually thrilling instead.

Look, I get what they were going for. A dark, twisted Norwegian spin on Cinderella where the "ugly" stepsister Elvira is the protagonist, desperately mutilating herself in a beauty-obsessed fairy-tale world to snag the prince. Body horror meets feminist satire, heavy on the gore, maggots, tapeworms, severed toes, broken noses, and pus-filled close-ups. Sounds edgy on paper, right? In reality, it's just exhausting, mean-spirited, and ultimately **** film mistakes extremity for depth. Every gross-out scene feels like it's screaming "Look how brave and subversive we are!" – popping zits in extreme close-up, swallowing parasites, chopping off body parts – but after the first few shocks, it becomes numbing rather than horrifying. The gore isn't clever or purposeful; it's piled on relentlessly until it loses all impact. By the time we hit the tapeworm climax (yes, that's a thing), I was just checking my watch and wondering when the self-indulgent punishment parade would **** Myren's performance as Elvira is committed, I'll give it that – wild-eyed and unhinged – but the character is so one-note in her obsessive quest for beauty that she stops being tragic and starts feeling like a cartoon villain in her own story. The rest of the cast barely registers; the "beautiful" stepsister and the prince are ciphers, and the mother figure is just another cruel stereotype. There's no real empathy here, no nuance in the commentary on beauty standards or patriarchy. It reduces everything to "beauty is pain" posters and graphic mutilation, then pats itself on the back for being clever.What could have been a sharp, biting satire ends up as a one-trick pony that mistakes nastiness for insight. It's nastier and angrier than The Substance, sure, but without any of the emotional core or actual horror payoff. If you're into torture porn disguised as social commentary, maybe this is your thing. For everyone else? Skip it. You'll save yourself 109 minutes of increasingly tedious revulsion and a lingering sense of "was that really all there was?"Avoid unless you enjoy feeling like you need a shower after a movie. 1/5 – and that's generous for the costumes.

Great movie. Shows what happens when you let antifa types take over in a Latino country.

This film had moments where it could have been a brilliant movie if it hadn't gone down a similar path to the majority of modern movies as of recently and people audibly groaned in our theatre whenever the plot or character development went that way. Some of the shots looked truly spectacular but.. even without going into spoilers for the sake of anyone reading this, it is telling that the antagonist has a much better character arc than the main character and how she deals with him at the end makes barely any sense if she isn't trying to become like him. The tree at the end and the scene afterward punctuates what sort of movie this is trying to be, who it is for and who it isn't for. Do not watch this movie if you care about the plot making sense, character development being thrown out the window or disregarded entirety, if you don't enjoy plot threads that go nowhere or a surprising lack of action, insane characters and fire for a movie that continues the mad max saga. In summary I wish I hadn't paid to watch this movie despite enjoying many of the actors other works. As for positives; I enjoyed Tom Burke and Angus Sampson's acting for the small amount of time that they were on screen and some of the vehicle designs looked functional and interesting. I'll avoid further commentary just incase anyone wanted to watch it to see for themselves.

Simply awful. A French director pretends to understand the struggles of Mexico with the Narco. Not well-researched at all and offering delusional narratives that "solve" the issue. Another thing is the cast. I've watched interviews saying that they looked everywhere in Latin America (including Mexico) and Spain to find the best talents. That's clearly not the case. Trying to say that the talent was simply found in actors/actresses who were not from Mexico is offensive when the acting of the movie is horrible. There are Mexican actors/actresses who could have fulfilled a more loyal and appropriate role, especially with the accents, which are clearly not Mexican. As a native Spanish (Mexican) speaker, hearing Selena's accent took away any seriousness that the scenes had. She's not a native Spanish speaker and didn't give honor as an actress to try to seem like it. I understand that she has all the right to call herself Mexican because our national identity is fluid and goes beyond geographic borders, but she could have at least attempted to perform a decent job in the role she was being paid millions to perform. Then we have a Spanish accent for a narco, which seems out of place, but I forgive this more since I could actually understand what the actress was saying without needing to rely on subtitles. This movie is a great piece of garbage that stereotypes Mexicans and the issues in the country without properly investigating what goes on in the country, the way we speak, or the way we cope with the violence in our country (especially for those who actually suffer from Narcoviolence). Knowing the talent of Mexican directors and well-created and respectful film projects that actually depict social issues in Mexico, I can't avoid feeling disappointed by how easily international awards decide to prize mediocrity that favors these detrimental stereotypes just because the director is famous. I feel insulted.

Was expecting more papel game of thrones and instead got Hollywood with their nose up their butts smelling their own self righteousness and bashing the Catholic Church. Hollywood telling Catholics that they are morally superior and how the church should work in their view. And of course they demonized the guy with conservative values because conservatives according Hollywood are outdated and old fashion. Don't waste your time or money on this film.Really this is all I have to say on this movie without giving spoilers. Garbage, complete and utter trash. While the movie bashes Catholicism throughout the movie, the end is where they get real blasphemous.

A poignant topic and yet I was left knowing almost nothing about any of the characters' stories, and caring about them even less. There was no dramatic tension, when there might have been at least a bit - not like everything has to be a nail biter, but c'mon. It's like all the individual trauma and individual lives were mushed into bland, flat, faceless, collective versions. What a waste of time.

As a fan of nearly every variation of tmnt in the past...this movie was garbage. Way too "woke" and made for today's generation and not paying homage to the OG variations by any means. I get the whole using teenagers to voice the turtles but even my 5 year old was confused by the voice of **** sounds like a kid not a teen. Poor voice casting on a lot of the characters and the story was a little boring. Fat interracial April was a little odd too...just didn't seem to fit the role. Just an opinion obviously the movie did/is doing well but as a fan of everything else tmnt...this movie was so so disappointing.

Could've been better Honestly not as good as I was hoping. Still decent, but ultimately falls a little flat for me. My biggest gripes are with the world and characters. Almost every single person in this movie is frustrating to watch, with misunderstanding and lack of communication being an annoying, ever-present trope on display. Everyone also acts very irrational and cruel, often where it doesn't make sense or seems out of character. On that topic, it breaks my suspension of disbelief seeing literally everyone in the setting be ignorant and unquestioning of everything. They live in a futuristic society that's progressed 1,000 years, and yet nobody knows what's on the other side of their city's walls? The story seems to focus far more on symbolism and ideas than actually making logical sense. Other than the writing itself, the rest of the movie is pretty decent. Visually it looks great, the shading and colors are quite pleasing to witness. And it's nice to see a movie not still following the uninspired style of most Disney or Illumination movies. Music ranges from great to serviceable, which I'll definitely take. Overall not a bad film, but I think it struggles a bit where it really counts.

The final nail in the coffin At 14:40 today I entered a semi-deserted theatre to watch the final (?) installment of the Indiana Jones saga. What followed was a tediously long series of action set-pieces, in which the titular character is dragged either by Phoebe Waller-Bridge's character and her annoying sidekick, or by the bad guys. The opening scene with de-aged Indy was particularly unsettling. I felt no chemistry between Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Harrison Ford. And apart from the interaction between Harrison Ford and Karen Allen, the other scenes are too loud, uncanny, and ultimately dreary. Sadly the soundtrack, scored by John Williams himself, feels very forgettable, frequently reusing themes from the other movies, which take you out of a scene. Joyless, shallow, and dismal are the adjectives that best describe how I felt as I left the cinema after two hours and 30 minutes. I hate the Crystal Skull film, but at least I like the scene in the '50s café. I have no good memories of the Dial of Destiny, and I don't want to watch this ever again.

Contemporary Theatre of the Absurd Theatre of the Absurd - in my opinion - is the most intellectually stimulating genre of theatre - later movie - that is greatly misunderstood and underrated in our contemporary times because of modern audiences' need for meaning and clarity behind each and every aspect of the visual medium. There are very few examples throughout the history of the genre in terms of theatre of film, and this - I dare say - is a modern masterpiece in its respective field in that respect. Seek no objective meaning, no context, no concrete structure other than the ones that will naturally come to be in your mind as you watch this movie. It is as life itself as much as life can be as life itself.

Marvel Decline Continues I don't know what movie people leaving the high reviews saw but it wasn't Guardians. This installment takes everything that worked in previous Guardian movies and throws it away. Terrible story line, poorly timed bad (and not "good bad") jokes and don't even get me started on Adam Warlock. His character was so lame. Some of the costume choices are beyond bad. The movie as a whole was just bad. I don't want to give anything away but in short it was bad. Do yourself a favor and wait for this to come out online. At least that way you can turn it off once you have had enough. I had high hopes for this film. I wanted it to be awesome. I was hoping the decline in the MCU would have ended or at least taken a break, but sadly I was let down. I am done paying movie ticket prices for Marvel films. I will just wait for them to hit streaming until Disney fixes Marvel.

Nintendo @ Da Best I always try to be genuine when it comes to the Big N. Certain years in Nintendo history stand out to me; 2009, 2013, 2017, and now currently one of the best years of Nintendo yet... 2023. I will criticize Nintendo when Nintendo deserve it and praise Nintendo when they deserve it too. This has to be the most self-aware film ever. The film knows exactly who it is representing. If you love Mario, you'll love this film. The animation is beautiful art, the music and soundtrack are fantastic, the whole thing has been handled with immense care. This movie is a love letter and thank you to Super Mario fans. Ignore the critics. They give bad movies good reviews a lot too you know. Peach is a boss and the movie is great. Nintendo wins again. I really felt the love and care, and everyone trying their best w this film. 10/10!!

Positives: Michelle Pfeiffer, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, and Paul Rudd are good and familiar. They carry the film. Good chemistry between the family and traditional love. Critiques: Many people will praise Jonathan Majors, but I thought he either talked too slowly or overacted when he was trying to be threatening or angry. He's another generic MCU villain, not a Thanos-level threat. His acting isn't threatening...just the fact that he can and has many copies of himself throughout the multiverse. -M. O. D. O. K. Fans will not be getting what they want from this character. He's a clowned punching bag and looks really bad with the CGI. -Cassie is annoying, mouthy, spoiled, and whinny. She also got typical Hollywood political values and is a girl boss. She looks and acts like a typical Gen-Z Disney actress. All the characters think and say "She's amazing" of course. -There is an underlying theme of a socialist revolution where they mock cops, help the rebels, fight the empire, and "burn it all down." There is even a line about ants being highly developed socialists and that we humans could learn from them.

A movie where the Men are basically useless. And a tiny 100-pound girl is stronger and knows more than everyone. This narrative was worn out yrs ago, but they keep pushing this illogical narrative.

I am absolutely gobsmacked at how bad this film is! When I saw the ratings were over 7 it still meant that it's not going to be best film but still enjoyable and entertaining. Well.... It isn't! This is the only film I have ever walked out on and that's saying something since I sat through the train wreck Eragon. The story is weak, the acting is some of the worst, the jokes are frequent but terrible, and the screaming goats get old reallly fast! It was so boring and it felt like it was trying too hard to be Ragnarok and it just wasn't working.

This movie isn't terrible. But it's not good. As a comedy it fails. I laughed only a few times, almost exclusively at the cat. Most of the jokes were crickets in my audience and a bunch made me roll my eyes. As a sci-fi movie it fails. It gives us the most basic child version of several sci-fi concepts stolen from other movies like Interstellar. And if you think for more than a few seconds, so much of it doesn't make sense. There was a cool fight scene and a couple of good action moments, but for the most part I found myself not caring about the action. The movie does this thing where it keeps throwing a wrench in the plan, creating obstacles that the characters must overcome. This is normally a good strategy and makes any later success feel earned and satisfying. But every obstacle is a result of dumb characters, silly mistakes, or simply being clumsy. This makes it hard to stay invested. When this strategy is executed better, there is a much better reason for the obstacles, such as a really smart antagonist. Late in the movie, it goes in a direction that I wasn't a fan of. And we get a few ridiculously cheesy moments, one that made me cringe so hard it hurt. The great animation doesn't make this worth watching.

They go back and forth with what they are trying to do with this movie every 2 minutes. It tries to do too much and just comes together as sloppy, confusing, and all over the place. It tries almost every movie trope and never commits to anything. It's a half-ass parody movie that manages to take itself too seriously while somehow forcing jokes the whole time. Also the most jumpy and weirdly paced movie I've ever seen. The idea of the movie is super cool and could have been great if they just committed to an idea and stuck with it.

After watching the film, I was disappointed. It really turned out to be a half-sequel, half-remake of the original film - that is, the main story is almost the same as in the first part, even some scenes are copied almost frame by frame, only some details are changed and new characters are added, which cannot be compared with the old ones. The original Matrix still looks better and passes the test of time, it is better to revise it (well, the whole trilogy at the same time).

Ah.... the time period has changed, but the message is still the same. Men are rapists. All of them. It does not matter when or where. Men are evil, men are rapists. It is a good thing this monstruosity bombed. It is an awful film. Too long, too violent with too much violent sex. But it somehow shows the awful mindset of Hollywood. What is the point of making a film about ****? Only the woke crowd can see value in it. Do we need it? Who needs it? It also shows that Riddley Scott has seen better days. Lately the guy has only made garbage. Any regular person, with some good old sense, see "The Last Duel" as it is: a cheap mix of violence and porn with actors wearing stupid costumes.

Having read the book a hundred years ago, it took some time to begin to understand what was going on. If there is a criticism that many share, it is the pacing of the first part of the film. It needed something to set the scene for us, to show us who the strong and the weak were. I'm not much for narration (show me, don't tell me), but it may not have been a bad idea. The scenes are magnificent with special effects off the chart. Many desert travel scenes are quite endless. How do you spruce up a desert. I thought the sand worms were a little one dimensional. I know there is another film down the road.

Another generic marvel film. You would think after so many movies made they would know how to do good cgi? It felt like an indie movie with the terrible cgi.

I enjoy satire, I enjoy music, I didn't enjoy this piece of junk. I watch movies to be ENTERTAINED, not to have "messages" thrown at me for 90-120 minutes.

Movie is just too forced. The only good part was Samuel L Jackson and 90's nostalgia. Everything else felt too forced. Black Widow movie would have been 10x better.

what the hell did I just watch? This movie is an affront to the star wars name. I paid to watch a toy commercial mixed with a videogame cutscene, mixed with scenes stolen for episode 4. And the acting oh my god. The bad guy in the star destroyer, only thing missing the top hat, cape and a moustache, to be a complete caricature of a villain. Peter cushing must be rolling on his grave again, after the performance he gave in episode 4, and this thing. This show us, that there is something fishy going on with the critics...
