This was just plan weird and strange compared to the previous two movies. It's not a bad movie for all its lower budget, but this pre-sequel tone is totally different for sure? Never read the comics so no idea if this one is closer to them?

The dialogue narration by Sheen's characters comes off as pretentious and immersion breaking annoying. I wish he would shut up and it would be a better movie for it. A lot of the characters seem almost like caricatures. The story is just survival and for some at any costs.

The first act was slow and felt like padding for time. Ok the character went from ineffectual, barely surviving due to luck and other peoples circumstance. Straight to epic legendary boss level at the end. I would of liked to see more gradual development of those mad skills. I found the cut a ways, super quick cuts and out of focus shots for the action parts annoying for this type of movie. This is a Predator movie and not showing that stuff clearly is a cinematic crime. Summing up this movie could of done with less padding, better rate of believable character progression with clearer action scenes.

Improvement on the second film for sure, but kind of rehashing the beats of the first film on a grander level. I do not get this western fetish of putting pregnant women in battle. It's not badass, it's not fierce, it's tactically super dumb and irresponsible risking two lives and the future generation. The CGI looks seamless and amazing. With the actor playing the role of Spider to perfection. Making this world a truly believable interaction between Human actors and CGI size characters. A beautiful spectacle, massive battles and without the uncanny video game quality. This is far less Jake's story than his wife and children story who get to shine more. Spider is a central character to the story and plot now. Avatar is more than Dances with Wolves with Blue Aliens. The whole symbiotic planetary bio-organism that is Ew'ya is treated like it's spiritual by the Na'vi, but the Na'vi have a tangible interactive heaven rooted in actual memory uploaded via the groves. I also love the sci-fi aspect of Avatar which is far more than just a eco warrior allegory story.

Gave me a fair few chuckles early on. Some of that CGI oof though. It was cool to see a Keaton Batman again. Shame we didn't see more of that Supergirl also. The movie goes from fun comedy light to hard to watch tragedy. Some of the humor seemed inappropriate for the 12 rating. That kind of humor with that ending this isn't really a 12 year old kids fun jolly Superhero movie. I personally enjoyed the darker tone and adult humor of The Flash. Well this is one and only movie that can explain away the spaghetti mess transition from Synderverse to Gunn's DC vision. So The Flash is kind of a fitting end for that one era I suppose? I will miss the Synderverse, but I am enjoying Peacemaker and have enjoyed the 2025 Superman. The new spaghetti strand of the DC multiverse.

Superhero movies need a level of suspension of disbelief, but the antics of the family way broke that to the point of farcical and ridiculous. I also really don't understand the mix messaging of him versus his family? Hero's don't kill ok, but Grandma and Uncle kind of do. The movie had enough sentimental beats I felt sorry for the pure Hero type, but not his crazy murderous family. Who seemed to take glee in all the death and carnage at the end. Also why did the pure hero just stand around and lets the goon do that at the end? Messy film with mixed messaging all over the place for sure. The Batman is fascist line was actually ok in the context of this was the branding/murderous Synderverse version of the Batman.

The story told from eyes of Predator for once on film. They played clever with the 12A rating. Lots of gore and dismemberment, but no humans involved or red blood. A brutal action packed sci-fi survival film on a DEATH WORLD!!!

I felt like I had a cinematic experience with this one. It combines a lot of ideas from other Aliens films (even games). So it gave out the sense of the familiar in a good way. I think I liked all the intriguing Wayland Android interaction the most. The film became more than just a teen slasher movie from that point. The implications were more far reaching than just a bunch of hapless/desperate kids trying to survive, the end.

I get why the 12 year old g/kid loved this. The serious tone, the story, characters and world building with the cool retro future look. I also get why the 9 year old g/son preferred the jokey action packed Superman more. Personally I am with the 12 year old on this movie. The movie was beautifully shot the cinematography is gorgeous and every actor nails the role. The way the characters and world building is set up early on a fun condensed way means that any person can get into this movie without feeling lost at all. I didn't get a single MCU (make a joke to break the tension) vibe. The creators made a serious earnest movie with palpable tension all the way through. Made believable by great performances of the cast. From the Fantastic four to the Silver Surfer to Galactus. I thought the movie was going to be fine from the trailers. I didn't expect this level of amazing after seeing it. One of the best movies in this genre to date. The FF4, the Surfer and Galactus are all sci-fi based characters with no magical fantasy stuff. So I think this movie can stand alone outside of comic book movies as dark sci-fi tale of an Alien hungry God type being versus a scrambling to survive humanity. Also the most none MCU movie to date. So that was a nice change of pace something a bit different from Marvel.

A movies series that just went down hill. First movie fun enough. Second movie ok-ish. This movie kind of a mixed bag. First act was ok-ish, middle act meandering slog, final act did end on a bang . I do not get the R15 rating (and no blood). One of the Grandsons was disappointed he couldn't see the this at cinema release as it wasn't a PG like the the other two movies. Kids aren't freaked out by photo-realistic Dead Space. This should of been a PG like the others (and more so with no blood).

The movie doesn't get into the politics of this conflict. It focuses purely on the soldiers and their famlies in times of conflict. The old black and white war movies tended to be gung ho and tone down the violence, pain, suffering and loss. The reality of war and a soldiers sacrifice should never be trivialized in my opinion. Thankfully this movie never does that. Not even for both sides of that conflict.
